Tennis record was pretty accurate in my area, but one shocker was a dude who was 30-5 and gave up bagels and doubles bagels left and right and was rated 3.75 on tennis record, stayed in 3.5!

I went through a friend's roster. They won nationals. Most of the guys went unchanged, one even went down. Most of their women got bumped up though. So I guess the men lucked out and didn't get a bump? Still wondering if all the ratings are out yet or not. I'm inclined to believe they're all out already.

Over 250K players have 2021-12-31 dates now, I think they are all out.

Oof, I did get bumped down. Not sure if that’s a good thing or something that’ll hinder improvement.

Edit: As of yesterday I’m now a few years shy of 40, so I’d like to improve as much as I can before aging up, eheh.

Anyone experienced this...a guy who is not listed when you do an advanced search for say all the 4.5's in your city, but if you type in his individual name under "find a ranking" he shows up ? Seems strange.

There weren't a lot of changes for the teams that I am on. A few of the 4.0 teams that we play against had a few guys bumped down, which means I will probably start seeing them in my 3.5 team matches. I play in two different 3.5 leagues (different regions and age levels) and I found only 3 players bumped up from 3.5 to 4.0 across both flights. Even a guy who went a combined 10-1 in 2020 and 2021 didn't make it.

On the ladies' side, there's an egregious cheater who self rated at 3.0 in 2019, appealed or was DQed to 3.5C in 2020, and was handing out bagels and breadsticks in the 4.0 league for the past 2 years playing "up" as a 3.5. She has a combined 46-3 record since joining USTA. Well she's now a 4.0C, so I guess she can take home another 20 or so lopsided wins this year before ending up as a 4.5C where she belongs.

Ratings this year were kind of boring honestly given that we had 2 years of matches to go on.

This seems to be true. Starting to do all the analysis I typically do looking at bump rates sliced a bunch of different ways, and overall there was nothing extreme, and a preliminary look by section, no section's really stood out. More on my blog.

No, this guy played three matches in 2021, and tennislink is showing him as moving down from 5.0 (2019) to 4.5.
My team? Or G's team? We had a 5.0S on our team this past 4.5+ season that would have been on the bench of some 4.0 teams. I don't even remember his name, but I think he played three for us and I would assume he got bumped down.

My nationals team ended up with almost everyone getting bumped. TR was wildly off estimating only 4 bumps we ended up with 9 including one guy who got dq'ed getting bumped a second time without playing more matches

I had a pretty up and down 2019-2021, so I'm actually glad to still be rated 4.0. I'm definitely NOT the same player I was at the beginning of all this, I've put a ton of work in and improved tremendously. It does make me reconsider what I choose to play in the upcoming 2022 season though. WHY DO WE CARE SO MUCH ABOUT A STUPID NUMBER BESIDE OUR NAME!!!!! lol  :-D

Strangest thing I saw was my friend who was beating 5.5s as a 5.0 self-rate. His team won the 5.0+ sectionals and he went 14-4 this year. He got bumped down to 4.5C

Yep, but that is the case even if you are self-rated and play only Mixed. You can only get DQ'd playing Adult. And if you get an M and play Adult, you'll have to self-rate again and so would be subject to strikes. But have at it in Mixed.

Wait, so you can self rate and win every match 0&1 all the way to nationals and not get DQed?

i had to refresh several times to believe what i was seeing (that i didn't get bumped again to 5.0).

I got bumped to 5.0 then end of 2019. Have probably appealed my rating 100 times since then. After about 2 i knew it wouldn’t be granted but mainly did it outta spite. I did the 101st and probably last until new rankings come out. Shame is i got 2 5.0 matches in 2020 before things shut down then moved to an area ida had to drive at least an hour for 5.0 league so never got a third match. I’m doomed.
Well, on the bright side, looks like you'll have someone to car pool with to your 5.0 matches...
