i think main villain(antagonist) in a movie is not gunn(being antagonist as well) but his promoter duke.. villain in movies is a independent, leading, smart and very tactical character for the most part, remember how duke has seduced gunn by these cars, presents doing that with his personal intentions .. and gunn just a puppet in duke's hands, driven by him

What a shame their partnership ended this way. Whatever the reason might be, Osaka’s twitter announcement could have been a lot friendlier and diplomatic. The cold announcement doesn’t shine a good light on her. I assume she doesn’t have a PR team and didn’t ask her parents for advice.

Bit of jumping the gun no? This is all pure speculation and we actually don't know what's behind the scenes and who's done wrong to another (IF that is even the case). Sure things seems a bit weird but nothing on and off court she has done publicly warrants a 180 turn on supporting her.

I always though she was kind of weird, even though I have rooted for her this past year. He must have done something right as she has won two slams since Sasha became her coach. I will not root for her anymore.

Only reason I can think of seriously is that Sasha may have demanded Top WTA salary, like it would have made him the highest paid coach in WTA. This could be like $2-3 million per year or more. I am not sure what the top WTA coached make. and Naomi didn't think he deserved it nor wanted to pay it. Also her father and mother have played a role and told her, she shouldn't pay him that kind of money. Sasha felt he deserved that for what he has done for her. so they split.

I'm not a fan of her. She has become very big headed very quickly. Success came too fast and she knows she is the next big thing in womans tennis. I wish Kvitova beat her in the AO final....to wipe that expression off O's face. I have never seen a face with such an annoying expression. Not even Serena or Sharapova comes close. Right but if your coach is demanding millions per year on fees and you don't think that is deserved then what do you do ? It might be true that WTA coaches may not really do that much. They help with mental side a bit, strategy, and arrange for practice sessions and hitting partners. But if player feels that she can do all that by herself or with aid of cheaper lesser known coach then player won't pay the Top dollar.

When I observed them practicing (standing right next to practice court), Sasha certainly looked like he was coaching rather than just hitting partner. Naomi didn't look like she was enjoying being coached. Indifferent body language and communication was all one way. Sasha looked like he was straining to get through to her, but very professional, from what I saw.

But I'm not sure I would classify her as difficult. I think she just has a very well defined idea of what she thinks her game should be and doesn't gel/communicate with traditional coaching. And maybe in her mind, she doesn't need a traditional coach to tell her what to do. Talking doesn't seem to be her thing so maybe she couldn't relate that to Sasha very well and he took it personally.

I think they get a flat agreed rate with potential bonuses for demonstrable improvement/results. I doubt seriously any marketable player or his/her team would let a coach anywhere near their money for shilling products for big companies, modelling etc-usualy the agent gets a slice of that for getting them the work etc.

I feel like there was something besides the money issue. If they weren't clicking on a personal basis that would be a difficult situation. When you're spending that much time with a person you don't gel with, it will start to show in your results, and maybe she wanted to part ways before it got to that point.

Also splitting with Osaka at this point is when Sascha's stock will be the highest! Whoever he moves to next is gonna have to pay big bucks!
