feels absolutely rock solid in hand. maybe a bit more headlight than the previous one but will post more thoughts after hitting it tomorrow
How do you post a photo? Sorry & thx
Playing the current Pro One myself, I am very much looking forward to your thoughts on the new racquet. It looks as though it still is the same racquet with just a new PJ and brand name, which would be great news since IMO the Pro One is one of the best frames today - it has all the virtues of a thin-beamed, classic player's racquet like stability, control, feel and comfort, but adds MASSIVE power and spin.
Judging by the pictures, the new PJ is bad news. The all black matte finish of the current PJ made it one of the best-looking frames out there. Whenever I turn up on a tennis court people ask me which racquet this is and rave about how much they are attracted by its design. The new silver PJ is just mediocre, makes it look a bit like a racquet from the 1990ies. Hmm. How does it look holding it?
they are actually in pretty amazing shape considering the guy literally thought they were junk. no cracks or anything. a few minor chips but structurally solid. you can see the red primer underneath both of them. one is clearly a st. vincent as per the sticker on the bottom. not sure if they both are or what. maybe some experts can weigh in
so donnay is still hooking you up kal
ahahahahaha  You still have white Wilson balls?

Finally got round to collecting all the sticks & shoes together. Some of these frames will be up for sale soon, UK only I'm afraid. Details to come soon.[/IMG]
Hey Kal, Must be a St Vincent thing but the PS85 in my collection (the one with the leather grip) was given to me by a friend whose 4yr old was using it to mess around with in his garden! He didn't want anything for it so all good for me!
Nice Prestige Mids! Which one do you prefer?
gotta take it if people just willing to toss it away....
similar story happened to our original POG mid... it was beautiful and I left at home when I went to college. Came home and my dad had taken it out and swatted bees in the yard with it and broke it somehow... very sad day haha
ouch. i guess you got good karma nowgotta take it if people just willing to toss it away....

I couldn't do that.
Knowing it's a Wilson Pro Staff 85 and has value to it, taking it for free feels pretty bad to me.
I had the same situation, guy didn't want his st vincent anymore couldnt play with it and wanted nothing in return I gave him £50 and told him just at least take this.
He was a mate but didn't know him very well but even if it was some random guy I would at least give something in return.
I'll bet he controlled them bee-yootifully . . . . (sorry). Running backhand bee down the line with topspin. C'MON!!!
i already said i would do something nice for the guy. he just dumped them off not like i had a convo with him about it or convinced him to fork them over.
people sometimes just don't care about old stuff. i've had a few people drop me off their old frames that are collecting dust at their houses because they know im a gear freak...
also.. not saying you would or wouldn't do anything but it's always easy to say you would do something different in a situation when you are the one on the outside looking in..

If you ever consider letting go of that black tour 90, let me know...it is pretty much the coolest thing ever
I am even considering doing the same with one of mine! Reg. Sanding down: did you sand down manually just using sandpaper, or is there any tool / machine than can be used for that kind of work? How do you actually get into all the edges?
sorry but don't think i will be letting him go soon as that's my main racket - others are more for fun
ye i did just do it manually with various grits of sandpaper, i think in america you can get paint stripper which helps start the process but in the UK nothing is strong enough - when i first tried i used a grinder but ended up going a bit too deep occasionally and making an uneven surface -
it is difficult to get to everywhere like inside the throat etc but you're never going to end up scuffing that area when playing so it doesn't really matter if you just paint on top of the original surface - hope that helps
New toys !!!

Nice. String them yourself?
Yap. 18x20 string pattern on such small racquets is tough.
That's incredible. Let us know how they hit.Yap. 18x20 string pattern on such small racquets is tough.

I had a few more PS85s but years of coaching and half volleys took them out.
Do you live in Australia?
