Rafa Will Have To Beat Djoker And Tsitsipas Back To Back. Not An Easy Task!

Preventing Rafa from reaching #21 is almost as good as winning the tournament for The Djoker.

Djoker will have to make Rafa really battle so Rafa has nothing left in the tank for the Final.

If they thought like fans (and not like professional players) they wouldn't be where they are today.
In other words, I don't think these players ever think in terms of "if only I can prevent X from achieving Y".
That's why we're sitting at home watching and seething/cheering and they're over there basking in the glory of victory and the humility of defeat.

To be clear, The GOAT Djoker will be going all out to pull off the upset... But in terms of the Slam race, blocking Rafa from #21 would be huge. Djoker has already stated that his goal is to win the Slam race.

That's the goal but it doesn't mean it will become reality. Will see if/when Novak gets there. He certainly does have a good shot at achieving it.

Berrettini's starting to grind my gears. If he wins this watch him be injured for the semi, as usual. Mug

Definitely an insurmountable task for Rafa to beat Djokovic at the FO. And Tsitsipas? The Greek would triple bagel Mugdal on Chatrier.

funny how the two times rafa lost at the french, the players who beat him never went on to win the final, granted the sample size is small since it was only two

It wasnt because of tiredness.

1. Soderling just choked by seeing the Monster Roger Federer in the final, it is not like he was tired or anything, it was pure choking.

2. Djokovic got outplayed by his daddy Stanimal who has even beaten him at the AO .... Surely Clay was not gonna stop Stan from beating Novak...... Except Grass Stan can (and has beaten) Novak everywhere.

That, and a slight differential in talent.

His semi will be more difficult than the final. He will carved up whoever in the final.

Zverev/TsiTsi could go for 5-6 hours. They're VERY even in terms of talent/ability so one of them could be gassed for the final too. I dont think nadal/djoker will be one of those barnburner AO 2012 days. Those days are long gone. Nadal isn't that good of clay, and Nole isn't that good on clay

Not easy but very doable. Please review RG 20 final and Barcelona 21 final.

So what we are trying to pull on here? Rafa draw was the second easiest, behind only Zverev.
Also its a big + for him and Djokovic, that they will face the best next-gen(whoever it is) on the final, not earlier, when either of the two would have way way bigger chance at beating him.
Tsitsipas has the worst draw, also in terms of how his opponent actually played against him.

Who did Joker play until today? That just whizzed over your biased head.

It's a tough task for both players, just not Rafa. But Rafa can certainly do it!

I don't get the Tsitsipas hype vs Nadal, have I missed something?

Nadal will pummel his backhand like never before, he'll experience what it feels like playing Nadal on Chatrier
Or the automatic a.s.sumption he will beat Zedraffe. The h2h on clay is a small sample size (1-0 Tsits in three at Madrid’19) and old. Bigger serve, more reliable return. Tsits/Zedraffe could be that classic we have yet to see this RG. If it is, advantage to the Djokodal winner increases.

I can create two similar threads - Djokovic as to defeat Nadal and Tsitsipas back to back not an easy task

Tsitsipad has to beat Zverev and Nadal back to back, not an easy task

Sisipas finds it hard to beat Nadal on hard courts, let alone clay. He is very easy matchup for bull. He is in great form but unlikely he will get even a set.

Everyone must be sparred the sight of ever seeing Zvereg in a Slam Final ever again.

Very Raulian of you to ignore the fact that your chosen finalist choked even worse earlier in the same slam, Jack. Tsits got run out by Coric 3R despite having 6 MPs, three of those at 40-love on his own serve in the fourth set. Most fans here know that and rate it a bigger choke than Zverev. What’s your excuse???
