Oh true. It's always unfortunate when a player has to end their career due to an injury, especially someone as young as Oudin, as I don't believe she's that old. That run at the '09 USO when she was like 16 was simply incredible. I believe she beat four established Russians in a row including household names like Sharapova and Dementieva. Sucks she was never able to refind that form.

I was playing Virtua tennis 4 on my Vita the other day and for the included players it has the main suspects you would expect such as Fed/Djokovic/Murray/Sharapova/Venus and then you have the lesser greats but still well known players like Del Potro/Monfils/Ivanovic and then who else did they include to fill the roster? I feel sorry for Laura that she was unable to fulfill her potential as a great tennis player, she may have been the Andy Murray of the WTA. However, all is not lost because she has earned her stripes as a pundit so she will make a career out of commentating. I've heard her call matches and she's not bad.

Wow, since I started the thread I cannot believe it hung on for this amount of time. I guess it's run its course. I was fond of her game and thought she had a game to win some slams. It's too bad she never reached her full potential. I guess I'll just have to look forward to her commentary at Wimbledon.

I wouldn't feel sorry for a young attractive woman, that's one of the last people you should feel sorry for. She will have plenty of opportunities in life just based on her looks alone.
