Fantastic! Another Serena victory--against a tough draw...and someone called Sharapova.
Hopefully Djokovic doesn't wear a hat like he has been during day matches, he is doomed to fail if he doesn't respect the hat theory.
LOL never mind too much kick on that serve.
Let's jinx her, anyone smell a calendar year slam?
Hey fanatic, i have been stressing over it.I was so pissed when it went to a 3rd set.Henin was holding her own in the first 2 sets yet i still felt something was gonna happen. The WTA is indeed a chokefest!

Serena should get the number 1 ranking pretty soon.
LOL. If anyone can do it, it's Serena.
I agree, I am so sick of all the choking. Why in the hell does anybody watch the WTA anymore? I dont know why I wasted my time watching the match at all, I dont care who wins, I just want the damn choking to stop. Womens tennis SUCKSSSSSS!!!!
How is it that since the begging of the AO, everytime Serena wins its because someone has choked? It may be possible that she is just better at raising her game at the right moments. Everyone cant possibly be choking, including the number 1 and 2 players in the world. Henin benifited from the absence of Serena and Venus during their primes anyways.
yes, when every player in the wta is going to just hand her the match. that was some fuuuggggggly tennis.
bring on the men.
haha on the men's side, everybody choked when they played canas. Ljubicic said all canas did was push the ball back but nobody could do anything about it.
They are not chokers. They are just not as talented for obvious reasons. They can't rely on their serve as much as the men do. Men are usually more competitive than women as well. Please give it a rest with women are chokers comments.Mick, plzzz, dont compared the men's game with the women, the so called number 1 player and number 2 player stunk on this tournament. The WTA is full of chokers, nuff said!
Like I said they can't rely on their serve like men do. Especially Henin who is very average on her serve and Serena is a great returner. In baseline battles it is very easy for the momentum to change in a match. During the clay court season when men can't rely on their serves as much you will see many swings of momentum. I'll ask you once again lay off the women as being chokers.Nadal freak, 40-15 at 5-4 for the match, what do u call that?Plzzz, dont come up with excuses for the women's players.Henin was on cruise control against Serena Williams the first half of the match, she played better then Serena but didnt close the match, thats choking, c.h.o.k.i.n.g!Obviously u havent watch alot of ladies's matches!
If we went by your logic everyone chokes against Serena. It's not like Justine Henin was dictating the match. Serena was hit or miss and finally she was hitting and got it just in time. Henin's level dropped a bit but Henin was playing at a level she usually doesn't play anyways.if this wasn't a choke, there's never been one. if justine keeps the pressure on, its a 6-0, 6-2 score.

What match were you watching? Henin was putting on some pace but Serena was the one making the unforced errors at a much higher rate than Henin. Serena was missing a lot at the beginning of the match. Serena found a happy medium where she wasn't going for broke but she was still putting pressure on Henin. Serena was controlling 2/3 of the match.Yes, she was dictating the match, what where u watching? Her pace was giving Serena problems.Thats why she was mishitting alot of shots. Not to mention she was hitting winners as well. She was moving Serena from side to side.
Yeah anyone not as skilled as the atp players are chokers.wta is like junior college tennis. full of chokes.
serena is an intimidator, so she benefits a lot from the chokers.
Reminds me of Sharapova/Williams at the AO when Sharapova had triple match point at 40-0 on her own serve but Williams somehow found a way to win...

what AO was this? Serena won 6-1 6-2... how could shriekapova have a match point?
She didn't have triple match point. She had three isolated match points.Reminds me of Sharapova/Williams at the AO when Sharapova had triple match point at 40-0 on her own serve but Williams somehow found a way to win...
Justine is not better than Serena. She can only hope Serena is nervous and making a lot of unforced errors. When Serena is on nobody in the WTA can beat her.Justine is easily the better player, Serena had to start serve and volleying because Justine was tooling her from the baseline. Serena also started to go into pusher mode for a few games because Justine was dictating and mixing up her shots. If they meet again and Justine doesn't choke it will be game, set, and match Henin.

I saw it. There is no shot out there that Serena can't handle. I'm sure though that it was tougher for her to handle that than the flat shots from Sharapova but Serena is the best player in the WTA. Her only problem is the lack of conditioning occasionally or the surface is too slow. Henin would only be the favorite on clay. You clearly don't understand tennis. Serena couldn't be ON against Justine for the simple fact that Justine makes Serena routinely hit balls out of the strike zone. She does it by hitting heavy spin and slice once in a while. If some other WTA players could hit a heavy ball instead of all that flat garbage they might actually stand a chance against Serena. Serena had to start hitting with more spin so she wouldn't make so many mistakes against Justine. Go back and watch the match, you'll see it.
2005 semi-final, look it up.

justine the better player???
justine loses 6 times out 9 times to serena and she's the better player???
justine has only beaten serena on clay and yet, serena has beaten justine on clay, hard courts and grass - and justine is the better player???
i guess justine is better than venus too??? even though justine has lost to venus 9 times and has only beaten venus once.
don't get me wrong - i like justine (she packs a big game to be such a small player) but your contention that she is better than serena (or even venus) is ridiculous!!!!
serena's results speak for themself - 8 grand slam single titles and 16 overall grand slams!
Pls don't try and reason with these guys. They don't really follow the WTA anyways. They are just blinded by Justine's (absolutely incredible) one hander and topspin forehand.
Serena IS a better player than Justine. The results don't lie.
Go and watch the Rome 2002 final on clay btw Serena and Justine. It is a perfect example.
Serena has NO PROBLEM with Justine's topspin. And this was on slow clay. It was a close match, but the gap widens on hard courts and even more on grass.
Like you said, Justine has only beaten Serena on clay, but Serena has beaten her on CLAY, GRASS, and HARDCOURTS!!!
With Venus it is even worse, but that's for another day.
serena wa pitiful, henin was pitiful, and the wta is a joke. the only brightspot in this match was henin's one brillant set. the rest of the match is an embarassment as to how weak, mentally anyway, the wta is. strong 5.0's would school these women.
