She probably knew she was going to withdraw all along so she came up with the Sugarpova name change idea to get her name out there during the Open in her absence.

I agree. There seems to be something a little fishy about her US Open 2013. Bursitis is a condition of swelling that can be treated with anti-inflammatory pills and ice. All reports say that she was hitting like an animal, then withdrew. Her schedule was to be play a best of three set tennis match, then have a day off over the next two weeks. It is the US Open for goodness sakes! She could have taken plenty of time for treatment between now and her first match which may not be for another week. Then, she could have taken all the time she needed to heal in two weeks.

Then there is that whole name change thing. Somethings up. Should we start the pregnancy rumors now?

Well, even on anti-inflammatory meds bursitis can be as painful as a muscle tear. She was "hitting like an animal," but that may have been an attempt to test how much she (and the meds) could take. There could be other reasons for bailing on the USO (ex. fear of eventually running into the ONE who owns her, or a fearless Azarenka), but it would not be the first time a player had to withdraw a major before day one due to injury or pain.

The first part was a shameless PR stunt that few will remember a month from now.

Pregnancy? I just do not see her doing that at this point in time.

Nope, she just doesn't do that. Didn't do it in 2009/10 when she'd have been lucky to get a set off anyone in the top 10,let alone top 2,so she wouldn't do it now. By the time she comes back, the top 2 might be the least of her problems and she might have to rebuild again and take some losses to lower ranked players
