First of all Novak messed up, big time, but this tearing him apart is definitely out of proportion... Maybe this Simon's statement explains why...

Djokovic didn't do himself any favours the way he handled the removal of Chris Kermode as CEO single handedly without too much consultation and the way he was trying to shoe on Gimelstob into the post despite Gimelstob pleading no contest to assault. Even after Gimelstob stood down from the players council because of the assault, Djokovic left the door open for him to come back and admitted to holding secret meetings with him. That won't make him friends in high places.

In 2012, Simon said that he thinks that men's tennis is more interesting and that they gather more revenue so women shouldn't get equal pay as men. Furthermore, he believes that, if for example the tickets for the women's finals were higher than the men's, that women should receive higher salaries.

He also said that he believes every man in the locker room of that year's wimbledon main draw agrees with him but they won't risk millions in sponsorships.

You basically called almost every male tennis player trash and probably the majority of this sub from what I've read here.

The problem with your logic is that it doesn't matter what you personally would like to watch. What matters is what the general public would want to watch and the statistics have shown that men gather much more revenue and have more tv coverage than women when it comes to tennis.

This doesn't mean simon is right but it is a pretty reasonable viewpoint, especially considering he believes women should be paid more if the roles were reversed.

No reason to call him trash for having a differing opinion.
