Playability Duration contrl did not vary over 5 hours of hard court and 12 hours of red clay play plust 8 hours of feeding balls
Control................ excellent
Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often.Less comfort but better control

Tension recommendations......... I would lower it by 10 % from my normal
poly set up.

List any additional thoughts Measured 1.27 mm, installation was normal for a poly. Thank you for the opportunity. I would recommend this string for a player looking for a control over comfort poly set up.

Tension(s) used for playtest: 53 lb mains, 53 lb crosses.

Regular string set-up: Usually use Kirschbaum ProLine II, or Babolat Pro Hurricane
Racquet brand and model: Babolat Pure Drive 2012.

Power of test string: About equivalent to ProLine II. More than Max Power. Pretty equivalent to Pro Hurricane.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): Crisp. It doesn't feel harsh at all. No arm pain despite full poly. Also volleys and drop shots are good.

Spin: I thought it had better spin potential than ProLine II and Hurricane

Comfort: No problems on this regard. Actually it is very comfortable at 53 lb on a pure drive.

Durability: I'm not a string breaker so this isn't an issue for me

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): Played 12 hours thus far. No drop off yet. The string has consistent playability. Still get the same spin and sweet spot feel.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): Very good control. Very precise. Spin allows balls to drop in.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often: So far it works better for me than Proline II and Hurricane. I sometimes string hybrid if a full poly string job causes arm pain. No pain so far.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): 53 works well for me

List any additional thoughts (optional): This is a great string. Combines the positives of poly without being harsh or stiff. At 12 hours I still have not noticed significant playability drop off.

Played for about 12 hours. Still everything above is true. This is a great string. I prob. would pay $12-14 per set for it.

Got my test set... Wow.. it's very green. I'm going to hold off a bit to see what others have to say about tension/comfort before stringing up..

Update #1: Just strung it up.. picked 45# based on some of the comments. It felt really stiff, much stiffer than the soft co-polys I've been using.

Update #2: Hit with it for a bit and played 4 sets(3 singles, 1 doubles).

Update #3: Played 2 sets of Singles. Cutting the strings out now.
  • Tension(s) used for playtest: 45# on a Neos 1500 lockout. One piece ATW.
  • Regular string set-up: Been experimenting lately but been playing Discho Iontec @ 50# mostly.
  • Racquet brand and model used for test: Tecnifibre TFight 320 ATP
  • Power of test string: Lots of power at 45#. Really had to concentrate on the strokes to keep the ball in.
  • Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): A very crisp feeling stringbed. Definately not plush.
  • Comfort: It felt stiff while stringing and crisp while playing. Definately not plush or soft. That said, it was still comfortable at 45# and never harsh feeling unless I shanked or hacked at the ball. Update: After about 6 sets the stringbed is feeling stiff and harsh. Surprising since Poly tends to last me several more hours.
  • Spin: Nothing special. Mid-level spin for Poly.
  • Durability: Since I'm not a string breaker. Durability to me = Playability Duration.
  • Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): Noticed some tension loss after the 1st set but then it settled down. After 6 sets (5 singles, 1 doubles)... I'm cutting the stringbed out. Not sure if it's dead or not but feeling a bit harsh and I don't want to risk injury.
  • Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): I might have gone slightly higher tension. Volleys were good but groundstrokes require full strokes to bring the ball back down.
  • Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often: Iontec plays softer but is less powerful (still trying to figure this one out). Spin is better with Iontec.
  • Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): For my game, maybe I would string closer to 50# to get some control back but then comfort could be an issue.
  • List any additional thoughts (optional): After one session, I would say an average poly with good power. Crisp but comfortable still. It really depends on the price. Competition is fierce for good, low priced polys. I wouldn't pay more than ~$70/reel for it. After 2 sessions, I'm beginning to conclude that the string is not too comfortable... It seemed to go dead quicker than other polys.
Thanks TW for the Playtest...

string it lower than you normally would. I had a hit today and there was no pocketing at all

Tension(s) used for playtest: 48lb

Regular string set-up:
Luxilon ALU Power Spin x Luxilon ALU Power Feel @ 48lb

Racquet brand and model used for test:
Wilson Pro Staff 97

Power of test string:
Perfect for me. It's got a little bit of pop, but nothing that would make it hard to control.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?):
"Firm" and "crisp" are the first words that comes to mind. The stringbed is very predictable, with a short-feeling ball impact. As the playtest wore on, the string lost some of its crispness. The string still played very well, but I preferred the fresh feel to the broken in feel.

Spin:
Top-notch spin. I've surprised myself a few times with how much spin I'm able to put on the ball.

Comfort:
Comfort is adequate for me, but I'm accustomed to ALU Power; I'm not sure that's a good measure.

Durability:
Durability is on par with what I've come to expect from modern co-poly strings. It lasts long enough to see its playability degrade.

Playability Duration:
The tension loss in the first 24 hours (no hitting) was higher than I'm used to. It seems I started hitting once the string had settled a bit, and the first four hours were pretty consistent. Around the 8-hour mark, I noticed some inconsistency in the stringbed response and it lost the crisp feel I so enjoyed when it was fresh. Coming from ALU Power, that's pretty much standard.

Control:
Control is excellent. The string is very consistent, so flat shots go where I expect them to, and provides enough spin that I can easily pull big shots down into the court. Most surprisingly, I'm hitting some of my best volleys in recent memory. That may be coincidence, but I feel very confident measuring volley distance with this string, either punching a volley deep or finding exactly the right touch to handle a ball below the net.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often:
Compared to ALU Power Spin, the Solinco prototype grips the ball better and provides more spin. It's slightly softer than ALU, with a similar level of controllable power. The Solinco prototype has a firmer feel and I feel slightly more confident that it's going to put the ball where I want it to, even at a lower tension (based on sound).

Tension recommendations:
I was disappointed by the change in playability as the string aged. I might string it a little higher than the 48lb reference tension I used, and maybe with some machine pre-stretch to try and cut off some of the tension loss.

List any additional thoughts:
This is a compelling string. It works well for my game, and I'm tempted to buy it once I run though my current supply on Luxilon (if it makes it to market). I'm a little disappointed in the playability duration, but the main downside is that the bright green clashes hard with the new Pro Staff paintjob. I feel it says a lot about the string that my primary concern is the color.

Tension(s) used for playtest: 47 pounds

Regular string set-up: Solinco Tour Bite 16L at 50 pounds & Genesis Spin X 17 at 50 pounds (slowly making the switch)

Racquet brand and model used for test: Babolat Pure Control Tour

Power of test string: I felt that at this tension, the power level was perfect. I've played this string before when it was added on to my orders for Tour Bite reels, so I knew what to expect. It's a bit less crisp than regular Tour Bite IMO, and I get a little bit of mushiness from it which gives me at least a perception of a lower power level. I string lower, and feel more connected to the ball because of the increased dwell time, so maybe that's it. I would say that it's a little below average for a poly, especially with all of the softer ones that have been releasing lately, but it's not a slouch if you have a fast swing and hit a bigger ball.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): Easily compared to tour bite here. It's a bit less crisp and slightly softer, which may be entirely a byproduct of the color difference. I feel like I could alternate between both and not have many issues in way of feel.

Spin: Fantastic, as usual with Solinco's polyester offerings. I never felt like I had to put much extra thought into adding spin, and I definitely got a little more than I do with SpinX.

Comfort: This is where I find the biggest difference between this string and regular Tour Bite. It's much, much softer on my arm. Once in a while, I'll have a little bit of shoulder fatigue when I'm playing with Tour Bite, and even with SpinX, regardless of tension, and I did not experience any throughout the course of the test (or in the past) with this green version. I did string it 3 pounds lower than usual, but I've used it up at 54 pounds before and had no issues. I would almost call it plush.

Durability: About the same as other 16L gauge polyesters. I got 8 hours before it broke, which has been about par for the course lately.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): I did feel like it got a bit difficult to control in terms of ball trajectory and placement near the end of the test, but I feel like that's not too uncommon with any string. I didn't miss long or short more than I usually do, but I would fail to hit my spots occasionally or would not get the ball as high or low as I had anticipated. However, this was only for about 30-45 minutes before it broke.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): Aside from the last little bit of the test, I didn't have anything to complain about here. It's a poly, so you get out what you put in most of the time.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often: I've been doing this throughout the review, but I would say that it's a softer, slightly cushier tour bite in BRIGHT green. Moderate power, more than adequate spin, control, and durability. The feel wasn't spectacular, but I'm not exactly at the net too often. I'm not familiar enough with SpinX to give a complete comparison to that one.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): I would say that I picked a good tension for the string. When playing a softer string, I usually string it lower than a similar, crisper string, but that's just my personal preference. I think it would perform well at any player's usual polyester tension.

I have strung up my set and have hit with it about 3 -4 hours.. if you have not strung your set up yet.. you might want to string in on the lower side. Plays crisp and firm and the pocketing is not along the lines of a softer co-poly. Without giving away too much.. it is a very nice offering for hard hitters. Enjoy !!

Tension(s) used for playtest: 50lbs on a Lockout

Regular string set-up: Topspin Cyberflash 17g 50lbs

Racquet brand and model used for test: Yonex VCore Tour 89

Power of test string: The power of the string was medium I tended to hit just a little long with this string

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): The feel was crisp and slightly stiff right off the stringer, after about an hour of hard hitting it softened but still remained crisp.

Spin: Spin was above average especially compared to Cyberflash.

Comfort: At first was slightly stiff but after an hour there were no comfort problems.

Durability: After about 9 hours of play there is significant notching and is close to the end of its life.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): The first 4 hours for me felt great was hitting consistent depth spin with lots of control. After that I started to lose a little control on depth and direction. After 7 hours it was hard to control depth and was consistently hitting long but direction control was still good.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): Control was great for the first half of the playtest. With the spin and bite from this string control was great I knew where it would land, but after the strings loosened predictability lowered as well.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often.: This string definitely gets more spin than cyberflash, but it is also stiffer and in my opinion not as crisp and predictable through the life of the string

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): I would still string it the same 50lbs, even though stringing it high would help with depth control, I feel if I went higher the little pocketing I got would all but disappear at higher tension.

List any additional thoughts (optional): It's a great string and would be great for players who like tour bite but want something a little softer. Thanks to Tennis Warehouse for the opportunity to try this string.

Tension(s) used for playtest: 51/53
Regular string set-up: Volkl Cyclone 17g (pink)
Racquet brand and model used for test: Wilson K-Six.One tour
Power of test string: This is a low powered string. I found that the players really need long strokes to take advantage of this string.
Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): I felt this string was slightly stiff and moderately crisp. I say stiff but relative to other co-polys it is significantly less stiff. I really enjoyed the crisp feel. I felt w/ the feedback from the strings I could better position for the next point.
Spin: This spin was average compared to others co-polys. The spin was the most pronounced with my backhand slice shot. Combine that with the crisp feel, I felt really confident with that shot.
Comfort: I was really surprised with the comfort of this string. Sometimes the performance of the strings comes at a great cost to comfort, but this string I could swing for hours without discomfort. For players looking to maintain a healthy arm/shoulder, this is extremely promising.
Durability: So far the durability is on par with other co-polys. I am noticing the same amount of notching as some other strings after a few sessions. Based on observations I feel confident that it will last longer than the degradation of tension.
Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): The first and second hitting session were the best as far as playability. After those two sessions, the string decreased in performance by 10-15%. I noticed my shots weren’t getting as much depth, but overall it wasn’t a significant enough detriment. The string seems to be holding at this level since.
Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): I really enjoyed the control of this string. I could really dictate points by placing the ball with a variety of strokes. I found myself enjoying the control most on my serve which set me up for with a short ball which I could put away or put my opponent immediately on the back-foot with a well-placed volley. I typically, do not come in and volley but I found it quite effective w/ this string.
Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often.: I enjoyed this string more than my current string setup. I think the Volkl Cyclone has more spin and is crisper than the Solinco string, but the Solinco string makes up for it in comfort and predictability with the shot. I also, feel the Solinco string has more durability but that might be b/c of the gauge difference.
Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): I think I would reduce the tension a bit. I think 2 pounds on both the mains and cross to increase the power and spin a bit.
List any additional thoughts (optional): Thanks TW and Solinco for the opportunity to playtest. I feel the string color may be off-putting for a person w/ K-six.one.tour b/c green doesn't compliment white/red/black colors. However, if you have a new blade or a prince 95 textreme then this color would fit.

Tension(s) used for playtest:47 lbs.
Regular string set-up: Wilson Nat. gut 16g. 64lbs.
Racquet brand and model used for test: Head Radical
Power of test string: Very adequate power, especially for big baseline hitting.
Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?):Crisp string. It lost a little crispness after a couple hours hitting.
Spin: Although I hit a relatively flat style ball, I was able to produce spin as needed.
Comfort: Not as comfortable as the nat. gut I hit with, but for a poly, this string was very comfortable, especially after a couple hours hitting with it. Even good comfort with volleys.
Durability: String broke on about the 8th hour of singles hitting. Overhead shot at the net, string snapped.
Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time):String settle in after a couple hours, and hit well until it snapped on the 8th hour.
Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?):Seems to be a control oriented string, as with big baseline shots control was very good.
Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often.:To compare a poly with nat. gut is comparing 2 very different strings, as Gut is more power, comfort and feel, but for a poly the it has a nice crisp feel, and control, that hit well for the 8 hours it lasted.
Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): I would keep the tension the same, as for a poly, I enjoyed the feel and control of this string.

Tension(s) used for playtest: 50lbs

Regular string set-up: MSV co focus @50lbs

Racquet brand and model used for test: Babolat aero pro drive original

Power of test string: medium, the power of the string is about medium. I string it at 50lbs and need very little adjust on the power side.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): Crisp.

Spin: very good spin. This string can produce great spin easily. I have it on aero pro drive and the combination is great for the spin.

Comfort: no issue here. in the first two sessions, I felt a bit stiff on the string bed and the forearm after the hit but nothing more. After that I do not have any issue with it at all. it might be just an adjustment I need to make.

Durability: I am not a string breaker and normally do not break string. this string holds up well for me. after few weeks and 20+ hours, the string still holds well.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): I felt the spin give away after the first 2 hours, then it play very consistently.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): The control of the string is very good. because the spin it can produce, it is very easy to control the trajectory. for the high arch topspin or the flat shot, I can control it easily. the touch shot has no different with the other strings I use. overall, I am very happy with the control of this string.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often: compare to msv co focus, this is a better string in my opinion. the spin and control is high on my poly list and will be the top pick on my list. The power, comfort, and all other aspect, there is nothing that I dislike.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): I have strung at 50lbs but would like to try at 48lbs if I do it again. hope to get a bit more power and more ball pocketing.

List any additional thoughts (optional): this is a great string for players who hit with a lot of spin. with the proper technique, this string will enable the player to produce great spin and have good control on the shot.

Thanks TW for the playtesting.

Tension(s) used for playtest: 50 /48

Regular string set-up:
Tourna Big Hitter Silver 17G / Syn Gut 52/50

Racquet brand and model used for test: Dunlop M-fil 400 (Modified) 11.5 oz 6 points HL with leather grip

Power of test string:
Low to medium. When the string was very fresh (1st few hours) the strings power was on the lower side. In the last 10-12 or so, I found the power to be in the medium range and easy to tap into.

Feel: Crisp

Spin: Spin was very good across the board but not in the outstanding range like Tourna Big Hitter Black 7 17G. More in line with Volkl Cyclone. Enjoy the tight spin and easy to control spin of this one. I felt the spin was perfect. Some of the other spin monsters out there tend to have this massive spin window but it hurts precision. This seems to have the right blend of spin and control.

Comfort: This string was a bit on the crisp side right out of the box and I could feel a bit of harshness in the 1st few hours. After that it was firm but on harsh...again.. a nice balance.

Durability: Still going strong after 12 hours plus of drilling and match play... impressive.

Playability Duration: Again, impressive. After the 12 plus hours of my test I have not changed my strokes to adjust for tension loss and control and still feel dialed in.

Control: One of the best strings I have ever tested in this regard. Slices stay low, kick serves hop and you can block back balls and take a full cut at the ball. Loving it!!!

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often: If this offering comes in under $10.00 a set and in reels... I am switching. BTW.. and if it comes in black. Can't play that green color.

Tension recommendations: Might go 48/46. Pretty close on my 1st try.. went 50/48.

List any additional thoughts: Loved the string.. hated the color!!! Get this string in reels for under $90 and in black, red and grey and you have a winner in my book!!!

Stringing: Easy to string. No issues.

Tension used for playtest: 50# mains and crosses

Strung on a lockout machine.

Regular string set up: Tourna Big Hitter Black 7 @ 50#

Racquet brand and model used for test: Volkl Super G 10 (325g) (98 sq in., 16x19)

About me: I'm a mid 30's 4.0 singles/doubles player with a western FH and a 2HBH.

Power of test string: 2.5/5. The power level was low but a little higher than tour bite; much lower than my normal setup.

Feel: 3.5/5. Not bad, not great. Volleys, slices, and drop shots were hit without incident but I never hit any touch shots I felt I didn't own.

Spin: 4/5. Spin was slightly lower than with BHB7 or Tour Bite.

Comfort: 3/5. No issues with tennis elbow or unusual pain/fatigue. I'd say right around average because it's more comfy than Tour Bite but less than BHB7.

Durability: 4.5/5. Great durability! week and a half. I played the string for about 12 hours of hitting with a partner, 8 sets of doubles, and a few hundred serves out of the hopper.

Playability Duration: 4.5/5. Very consistent response throughout the life of the string.

Control: 3.5/5. My accuracy was average to above average with this string.

Compare to the string you use most often: Comparing this one to Big Hitter Black 7... Less spin, a little less power, comparable control and touch. Good string but not great. I'm not sure where this string is supposed to fit in Solinco's product line.

Tension recommendations: I always play poly between 45 and 50# and these strings were ok at 50. If I played this string again I'd probably try it at 46-48 due to the stiffness.

Final thoughts: Nothing really stood out for me with this string. It was good but not great. For my game, I couldn't see choosing it over my current setup.

Thanks TW!

Tension used for playtest: Strung at 42 lbs.
Regular string setup: Mains: Signum Pro Firestorm 17g x crosses: Weiss CANNON Silverstring 17g
Racquet brand and model used for test: Head Graphene Prestige MidPlus (18x20)
Power of test string: Low power allowing me to swing thru the ball freely.
Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): Crisp and comfortable.
Spin: Spin generation very good. I was able to generate good amount of spin compared to my current string setup.
Comfort: Comfort was decent.
Durability: Average. String is holding up well, including tension.
Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): Durability was very good. I got approximately 6 hours of play, but ended up cutting the string out, since I was not getting sufficient amount power compare to my regular string setup.
Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): Control was very good.
Compare to the string you use most often: Solinco string provides very good control and comfort. I do feel that my string setup provides better comfort and more power. This is necessary, since I use a racquet with dense string pattern and is low power.
Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): I would recommend dropping tension to by about 3-5 lbs. to allow to generate more power.

Tension(s) used for playtest: 50 lb

Regular string set-up: Volkl Cyclone 17

Racquet brand and model used for test: Volkl Org SG 8 315

Power of test string: Lower medium, I felt the power was adequate.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): The stringbed was firm and predictable, but lost some of this feel with the tension loss.

Spin: I felt the spin was good for a round 16 gauge co-poly. I would prefer more bite and would like to try the string in a thinner gauge.

Comfort: No issues with comfort, for a co-poly this was a very comfortable string.

Durability: So far durability seems good, no issues.

Playability Duration: There was noticeable tension loss between intial stringing and the 2nd hitting session.

Control: Control was a strong point of the string, it was overall very consistent.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often: Compared to Volkl Cyclone 17, the Solinco had less bite and slightly less spin. However, I preferred the firm and comfortable feel of the Solinco.

Tension recommendations: I would go up a few lbs, especially for this racquet. Hopefully, this would offset the tension loss and reduced playablity as the string aged. I would consider a pre-stretch next time.

List any additional thoughts: I enjoyed the playtest and felt the Solinco prototype was a solid string. Also, I personally like the bright green color, but many won't.

Before I start my review I want to note that this string IS NOT round. I looked at it under an Agfa lupe 8x and counted five sides. They're not as profiles as tour bite, which is also a five sided string by solinco, but to call the edges rounded is still an overstatement. Now that I'm done with that:
Solinco green copoly play test

Tension(s) used for playtest: 48/56
Regular string set-up: testing a lot of strings, mostly firm polys in as spin friendly combinations as possible. Last combo I used for a really long time was Babolat Hurricane Feel/PHT @46/56, but that was a while ago.
Racquet brand and model used for test: my trusty Babolat PSL.
Power of test string: Low powered, loved it.
Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): Loved the feel, string was comfortably firm and crisp, and I felt it had a very direct response, great directional control, and like many of the strings I've been trying lately, awesome on full swings.
Spin: again, like many of the strings I've tested lately, great in this regard. String had lovely spin, I'd say slightly less than TB, which I tested right before it.
Comfort: for me, who has an arm that survived full Kevlar for a month, as well as RPM Blast in an APD when I was younger, it was fine, especially in my PSL. with its feel though, I doubt it'd be a good option for someone with TE.
Durability: I had to cut it out due to flying and test schedule, but I seemed meh after about 6 hours of play.
Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): I'd say tension maintenance was meh, slightly worse than TB, but not horrible after 6 hours. There was a bit of notching, and of course, tension dropped gradually at an okay rate.
Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): like said on the power and feel sections, great control.
Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often: very similar to TB, and not too far fetched from my last go to string, HF/PHT. slightly lower powered with a bit more spin and similar tension maintenance, maybe a bit better. Also comparable in terms of spin to B5E or SPE. Control is like TB, my last set-up, and Max power.
Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): I think 48/56 was great, as it really brought out the qualities of this string with its low powered response and spin potential.
List any additional thoughts (optional): I liked this string, but due to its 5 sided shape, I likely won't get it when it comes out.

Tension(s) used for playtest - 55 lbs
Regular string set-up - Volkl Cyclone 17g 55 lbs
Racquet brand and model used for test - Babolat Pure Drive

Power of test string - The Solinco string is a medium power co-poly, initially everything I hit was going into the net, then I adjusted a bit and a lot of my shots was going long. In another 10 minutes or so I was able to get the depth right and now shots were going in. I can tell there is some pop in this string, I just had to get my swing properly calibrated.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?) - Feel for this is slightly muted, it played with characteristics of a firm stringbed, there is no springiness in it that's for sure. I never got the sense this was mushy, after it settled in it played like a very well balanced string.

Spin - Off the stringer I cut a piece of this string to examine it a bit closer, I can see that this is a 5 sided shaped co-poly. Spin was good, above average but nothing exceptional. It hit with good spin but not comparable to spin such as Tourna BHB 7.

Comfort - Comfort was good for a firm stringbed, I didn't have any issues with sore elbow like I did with the previous string test on the Gamma Moto. In that trial, I had to cut out the strings after 3 session due to string stiffness. The Solinco is just fine, no issues.

Durability - Durability seems to be on par with many of the more durable co-polys out on the market. After a few sessions of hard hitting, the string notched but it wasn't at a pace that would concern me. I would say this string is above average in durability.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time) - This string started out playing firm and stiff, after a few sessions it settled in nicely. The firmness gave way and the the stringbed softened up a bit to give it more playability, the touch was better, I can feel the ball a little more, the feeling of hitting with a 2x4 went away.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?) - Control was very good with this string, trajectory is consistent, I did struggle with the power and depth control initially but that was squared away after a few hits. I like the control it had at high swing speeds although once in a while the ball still sails on me a bit but I think that's a problem with my swing more than the string itself, high marks for control here.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often. - I use Cyclone 17g and its much softer than this Solinco string. When hitting against heavy balls and good hitters, the Solinco will definitely give me a confidence boost for the control it offers, really enjoyed the control on return of serves. Compared to Cyclone, power is even, feel goes to Cyclone, spin is even, comfort to Cyclone, durability to Solinco, playability duration to Solinco, control to Solinco.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?) - I would string this at normal tension, there is no extremes in stiffness that I would suggest players to string it higher or lower. Normal tension is fine.

List any additional thoughts (optional) - I thought this was a very good string test and I enjoyed it, the previous test hurt my elbow and I had to cut the strings out in order to save my arm. The color neon green on the Solinco jumps out at you and hopefully there will be a somewhat neutral version for this string. The Solinco played well, it is very well balanced and I would say give it a go if you'd like to try something new.

Tension(s) used for playtest-56lbs

Regular string set-up- Adrenaline Rough@65lbs

Racquet brand and model used for test-Wilson Blade 98 16x19 2013

Power of test string- low powered, mid range for a poly

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?)- Firm and crisp, a bit stiff, but not uncomfortable nor harsh on the arm

Spin-very good spin, more than adrenaline rough, not as much as cyclone or tb but still lots of spin

Comfort-not very comfortable but not totally uncomfortable or harsh, firmness expected from a control oriented poly

Durability- some notching after a few hours of play, nothing crazy, so far seems abut average

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time)- Lost tension quickly, became unpredictable and erratic. poor tension maintenance

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?)- when fresh the control was excellent, depth was very controllable and very predictable response but lost control quickly with tension loss

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often.- much stiffer than adrnln rough, more spin, less lively, worse tension maintenance

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?)- slightly lower due to the stiffness of this string

Tension(s) used for playtest: 55/53

Regular string set-up: Head Sonic Pro Edge 1.30 at 53/51

Racquet brand and model used for test: Yonex Ezone XI 98 stock

Power of test string: At the tension I strung it at, the string was initially very underpowered. My balls were landing short, and despite my efforts to swing out, I rarely got the ball deep. I was rather shocked as I have heard that Tour Bite is very powerful and lively. Kind of the opposite here, not that its a bad thing.

Interestingly enough, I was able to hit my hardest serves with this string. Flat serves were a dream. Placement and power.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): This is probably the most subjective part of the review. These terms mean something different to everyone. That being said, I thought this string offered superb feel. It gives a meaty feel on impact, and volleys can be felt throughout the forearm. It was the BEST I have ever tested at net and off the ground. However, at this tension, little dwell time existed.

Spin: This is an interesting aspect of this string. The spin is apparently there because I haven't needed to alter my swing, but I don't feel the strings grabbing the ball. It is a weird sensation. On groundstrokes, for example, I can do everything better than I ever have, yet i don't have a gauge of how much spin I'm putting on the ball. As tension decreased, however, it did feel a little better. On serves, I had difficulty getting kick unless I really used my legs to push into it.

Comfort: No arm discomfort and a truly wonderful feel on impact.

Durability: I’ve put about 20 hours of hitting and matchplay on the string it is just now showing the warning signs of breakage. The notching is getting worse, and the strings make a sound when I move them back into place.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): The string only got better. Once it settled in after about an hour, the sensation of putting spin on the ball increased. The string kept tension very well and performance remained the same over the course of the test.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): This was the most control oriented string I have ever played with. Due to the low power, spin, and feel, I always know where the ball is going. I found myself hitting short most of the time, but at least it was predictable. I know that if i put a that little 10% more onto my average shots, I'll be fine.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often.: This string does everything better than Head Sonic Pro Edge 16. Spin, kick, and most importantly feel are noticeably better than the head.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): I would go down a couple of pounds from where I initially started simply because I think that the string opened up as the tension decreased. On my first hit I felt that it was low powered. Even now I feel that a lot of my balls land short unless I am really conscious of hitting deep.

List any additional thoughts (optional): After it's all said and done, I am ready to switch and stay with this string. The playability as a whole, and the color, make it a winner.

I want to thank TW and Solinco for this amazing opportunity to test!

I also have to confirm that the string is not quite round. Not like Tour Bite or BHB7 but there are edges. I think the edges are more like Cyclone (which is gear shaped). When you string this stuff you can feel the edges on your fingertips. Really like this stuff...:)..

The color is a loser for me since it is a not a match for the color of frames I use..LOL

I noticed this once I cut out the strings too...

The color is good... the green on green camouflages the ball coming off the stringbed...:D:D

Tension(s) used for playtest: 52 lbs.

Regular string set-up: some variation of solinco tour bite around 55lbs.

Racquet brand and model used for test: yonex ai 98

Power of test string: power felt sufficient. About the same as tour bite soft but slightly more than regular tour bite. Nothing uncontrollable.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): feel is on par with tour bite soft, perhaps a bit crisper, but slightly softer than regular tour bite.

Spin: spin potential felt a bit lower than similar gauges of tour bite. Seems to be more of a gear shape, and 1.27 g didn't generate any extra spin.

Comfort: had no issues with comfort, on the softer side for me compared to normal tour bite.

Durability: I'm generally not a string breaker so I had no issues here either. Did not notice any significant notching even after 4hrs.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): playability was great for most of 5hrs of play. About the same rate of tension loss usually seen with other solinco strings.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): no issues with control whatsoever here. Solinco as usual has made a string that excels at control and ball placement. I usually use strings around 1.20 g so I could notice the extra bit of control. My one gripe is that I would prefer a slightly firmer feel to better gauge placement after contact.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often: I usually use the thinner gauges of tour bite, alternating between soft/diamond/normal depending on the racket. I enjoy the firm feeling of tour bite as it offers plenty of control as well as great spin potential. This NGDY string offers the same features but with a higher emphasis on control and a slightly less firm feeling.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?): likely string around 50 to get a little more power.

List any additional thoughts: thanks to TW and solinco for letting me play test!

Tension Used: 52 pounds
Regular String Set Up: Cyclone 18 (52#s)/Gosen Micro 18 (55#s)
Racket Used: Babolat Aeropro Team
Power: Felt this string was fairly low in power which is not a bad thing. Thought I could swing away without the fear of the ball sailing long.
Feel: This string felt crisp and muted to me.
Spin: Really enjoyed the spin I could hit with this string. I mainly hit topspin but I was able to hit nice slice backhands with the string as well. Again, no issues with the ball going long.
Control: Coming from arm issues, I had no problem with this string. I used it over 10 hours and never felt like it hurt my elbow or shoulder.
Durability: I never break Poly and I did not break this one either. Used the string for over 10 hours and it is a very durable string in my opinion.
Play Durability: This was the only issue I had with this string. After about 5 hours of use, I felt like the control went down and it lost a lot of tension. I was still able to hit spin but the ball started to fly on me.
Control: As mentioned above, the control was excellent but only lasted about 5 hours. I string my own rackets so I would have to restring it after 4-5 sets.
Compare to Regular String Set Up: I felt like the strings were very similar other than I use a thinner gauge. This is an all around nice poly string that has a lot of positives.
Recommended Tension: I felt like 52#s was about the right tension for me. If anything, I may go up to 53#s but would not go higher than that.
Additional Comments: I really enjoyed this Playtest and I feel like Solinco has a developed a great poly string. I have used Tour Bite in the past but it took a toll on my shoulder even after trying different tensions. If you like Tour Bite but are looking for a string with more comfort, I would definitely recommend this string. When it becomes available, I hope there are other gauge alternatives b/c I would prefer a thinner gauge. However, I did enjoy this string even at a higher gauge that I am used to. Also, the color does stand out but does not bother me.

Thanks to TW and Solinco for allowing me to be part of this Playtest.

Tension(s) used for playtest- 56 lbs

Regular string set-up- Prince Warrior Hybrid Touch @ 58 lbs

Racquet brand and model used for test- Prince Tour 98 ESP

Power of test string- low to medium powered for a poly

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?)- firm and crisp

Spin- spin was very good, similar to Tour Bite even though the edges on this string are not as pronounced

Comfort- OK for a poly, felt very firm when hit outside the sweetspot but crisp and comfortable when struck cleanly

Durability- reasonably durable for a thinner poly in my ESP racquet, I broke it on a return of serve at around 7 hours of play

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time)- felt quite firm during the first hitting session but softened up very nicely after a set of doubles, tension seemed to hold throughout the playtest, spin got better as time went on and there was more pocketing

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?)- trajectory was predictable, however I struggled with depth control until the string lost some tension and pocketing became better, groundstrokes and serves felt great with lots of spin, volleys were ok- the firmness of the string shrunk the sweetspot for me

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often.- compared to my regular setup, this string had more spin and control but less power and feel

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?) - Yes, I would drop the tension maybe 4-5 lbs to see if I could get a little more pocketing from the get go

List any additional thoughts (optional)- Overall, this is a great playing string. Spin and control was very good. It kind of reminds me of a slightly softer version of Tour Bite. If I was more of a single/baseliner type of player, I would contemplate switching to this string. Thanks again TW for the oppurtunity to playtest! You guys are awesome!

Hi,I have some sets of the NGDY solinco string and I feel like the more I hit with it,the more it gets better. When I have first tried it,all my balls was going in the net and it felt weird. But after 1 hour of hitting,I have started to really enjoy playing with this string. This string as incredible spin and the control is very good.
It have a decent amount of power and the NGDY string is very comfortable for a poly. When I hit some volleys, the feel is great and all my strokes are really deep when I want to. I'd only played 5 hours with this string yet,but so far,it's one of the best string I've ever used and I will definitely buy some sets when it will come out in stores and on the TW website.

G.O.A.T.
scotus' review of Solinco "Green Co-Poly"

Tension(s) used for playtest: 40 lbs M, 36 lbs X Constant Pull

Regular string set-up: Volkl V-Torque, Luxilon ALU Spin, etc at 40-45 lbs

Racquet brand and model used for test: Heavily modified Wilson Pro Staff 100LS

Power of test string: Low. Thanks to the warning from several posters who had strung this up before I did, I was able to string it up looser. I thought 4 lbs off the X might do the trick, but no, I should have probably taken off 3-4 lbs off the mains as well.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): The feel is strange. It is definitely much stiffer than the Volkl and the Lux I have been using. Yet the jarring feel is not quite there. It feels smooth, almost as though it pockets the ball well. Nonetheless, it is stiff and very low in power. I would not describe it as crisp. There are many strings I would describe as crisp and I enjoy that feel, but this Solinco does not feel like that.

Spin: Spin is very good, but not tier one like the Volkl V-Torque, Luxilon ALU Spin, Y-Tex Quadro Twist, Head Gravity and Tier-One Firewire. Whenever I get behind in a match with this Solinco setup, I take out my other racquet strung with V-Torque and that added spin, pop, and crisp feel allows me to get ahead again.

Comfort: As mentioned above, it is stiff yet without the jarring feel. But I have had this sort of sensation/perception from a string before. It feels almost like Prince Poly Gut, one of the very first polys I have tried ages ago. It felt like it was easy on my arm but suddenly struck me with my very first case of tennis elbow. The jury is still out on Solinco's arm-friendliness.

Durability: On par with Volkl V-Torque. Definitely better than Luxilon ALU Spin. I snap the ALU in 2 hitting sessions of doubles. Since the Solinco survived 3 sessions (actually 4, but the very first session I only used it for 10 minute and put it away, so that doesn't count), it's good in my book.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): It probably has something to do with the fact that I had it strung too tight for me. So the first day I just put it back in my bag after about 10 minutes. My serves had no pop, I could not hit my ground strokes and volleys the way I wanted to. Completely unplayable. Then the second day it was better, still not my cup of tea. The next 2 sessions kept getting better as the tension dropped. So, I can't really knock the duration of playability unless I get another chance to string it at a tension that suits my needs. But the fact that it improved over time is something positive.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): When the tension is right, the trajectory is very predictable, and performance is very good over all. It is also extremely good when hitting against hard hitters, the kind of opponents who would take 5 lbs of tension off your string and shred it to pieces in less than an hour. Because of the string's stiffness, it helps you keep the ball in and improve overall control against hard hitters.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often. For my game, I much prefer the Volkl V-Torque, Luxilon ALU Spin, etc. They simply offer better spin, crisper feel, and more comfort.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?) I would have dropped at least 10% off both the mains and crosses from my usual setup. But that's just me. If you're coming from super stiff strings like Kevlar or Babolat Revenge, the you would not have to.

List any additional thoughts (optional): Thanks to TW and Solinco for including me in the playtest!

Tension(s) used for playtest: 50 lbs.

Regular string set up: Isospeed Baseline Spin 17L or Babolat Pro Hurricane around 52-55 lbs.

Racquet brand and model used for test: Head Microgel Radical MP

Power of test string: This string felt like it had some more power than Pro Hurricane or Baseline Spin.

Feel: This string felt firm like Pro Hurricane, but lacked the ball pocketing.

Spin: The spin potential was good for a 16 gauge string, but nothing outstanding.

Comfort: I didn’t experience any arm issues when playing with this string.

Durability: I didn’t break this string, so it’s in line with other polys that I’ve used.

Playability Duration: I got about four hours of playtime with this Solinco string. I had played a two hour match and the string played consistently throughout. I didn’t notice a major drop off in tension in the next two hours of play.

Control: The lack of ball pocketing threw me off initially, because I wasn’t sure how much spin I was putting on the ball. Once I became more familiar with the string, I was able to make most of my shots from the baseline.

Compare to the string you use most often: I don’t feel quite as confident when playing with Solinco compared to my regular setups. This string plays like a slightly more powerful and more spin friendly Pro Hurricane, but at the expense of some dwell time.

Tension recommendations: I would try this one at 53 lbs. next time. I had strung this on an electric stringer, but it didn’t seem to be calibrated properly. The tension may have been less than 50 lbs. as a result.

Thank you Tennis Warehouse for the playtest opportunity!

Tension(s) used for playtest: 48 lbs. on a lockout machine

Regular string set up: experimenting with full poly around 50 lbs after years and years with multis. Favorite multi set up is RIP Control 17 at ~58 lbs.

Racquet brand and model used for test: Prince PCG Tour mid.

Power of test string: I thought this was medium powered. I had access to power, but didn't feel like the power got away from me either. I liked this power level, for sure.

Feel: Crisp and muted.

Spin: This was a 16L string with a slight shape to it. Spin was there, but other strings are spinnier. I guess for a 16L its was pretty good though.

Comfort: There was some feedback with this string and over a couple of weeks I developed some numbness in my pinky, which I have self-diagnosed as ulnar nerve impingement. I played a lot with this string though and not until the last two times out did I feel anything even approaching uncomfortable.

Durability: I played 6 doubles matches, a couple of singles hitting sessions and a two hour clinic with this string. At the end of the playtest there was not really notching as much as denting between crosses and mains. Pretty nice durability.

Playability Duration: I would say it played pretty consistently for the first 12 hours or so. After that I found a couple of issues with shots sailing just a bit. Not every time, mind you, but control began to suffer slightly.

Control: Depth control was outstanding for most of this test. Serve felt better than it has in a long time, too, as I was able to locate it with power and spin. I was able to hit a heavy ball that would dive near the baseline. I didn't really get good rolling action on balls I wanted to keep low (think passing shots in doubles down the middle).

Compare to the string you use most often: This is definitely a string that could find its way into the rotation. It isn't as spinny as some polys I have tried. However, it gives a consistent response and gave the confidence to stand up to heavy incoming shots. I would say this is a SOLID string that does most things really well.

Tension recommendations: I think 48 was pretty close to perfect for me. I wouldn't change from that except as weather dictates.

List any additional thoughts (optional):
For the POG, the string color was awesome. Very bright green that worked well with the darker green of the POG. In fact this string was so bright that the morning after I strung it up, I walked out into the dimly sunlit room where my stringer is, and I swear it looked like it was glowing. Also, I wouldn't call this string textured, but I did feel something for about a one inch portion of the string about every foot or so. I couldn't tell if it was something printed on the string or what. Except for those small patches, the string was smooth. Thanks for the playtest. Solinco has some great strings out there. Diamond Rough 17 is next for me. Thanks TW as well.

This might be one of the 1st times that most play testers have very similar feedback and almost all of the feedback is positive. Other than the color for me.. I loved this offering. If I move to a black frame it is a winner. Right now... Red ..White and Green?? Not for an old guy like me!!! The younger players love these "optic" Reds.. greens.. yellow.. Hurts my eyes.

**Sorry for the bad english, I speak french**

Your Enlish is fine and you really nailed the feedback on this offering. The 1st hour or so.. I did not love it. 2 hours in.. loved it and got about 12-15 great hours out of this string. I cut it out on Friday.

Tension(s) used for playtest - 43# - 2 piece on my Prince Neos

Regular string set-up - I normally use a full bed of Natural Gut, preferably a thin gauge (17 Babolat or 18 Kirschbaum). I’ve also tried a few Luxilons, Hurricane, Pro Line II, but generally return to my full bed of gut.

Racquet brand and model used for test - Prince Tour 100 18x20

Power of test string - I thought the power level was good. It didn’t really stand out from other strings though. But it certainly didn’t lack power either. It was spot on for my game.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?) I was expecting a very stiff string bed, as it felt tighter than I wanted coming off my stringer. But once I played with it, it was surprisingly tolerable. From the baseline, this string was great and the ball felt wonderful coming off my racquet. Coming up to the net to put away easy sitters was also great. In doubles matches, however, I found myself having to switch back to my gut racquets. The touch and predictability just wasn’t there with this string. It was a bit too crisp for doubles.

At about 5 hrs of play, it started to really soften up for me, and I brought it back out for doubles. My baselines shots still stayed in and weren’t spraying everywhere, but I was able to have a bit more touch at the net.

Spin I absolutely loved the spin on this string. It’s the best spin I’ve gotten out of strings. I really appreciated what it added to my baseline singles games. The string seems to have an almost square shape and really bites into the ball. I was able to get the best backhand slice I’ve ever gotten with this string.

Comfort This string was so much more comfortable than I was expecting. My usual setup - the Prince Tour 100 with full gut is designed for comfort. Having gone through wrist surgery in the past, I need to be careful with what I use. But my usual setup does me no favors in my singles game (such as it is). I found it quite amazing my arm was able to play with this, in an 18x20 racquet to boot. Long term, I’m not sure if the comfort will hold up, but for the length of this playtest so far, it’s been fine. I’d like to see if I can hybrid it with Gut just to be on the safe side. But as it was, I was quite surprised with how comfortable the string was, especially since my stringbed felt stiffer than I’m used to.

Durability I’m not a string-breaker, so it’s plenty durable so far, and I expect it to stay that way for me.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time) After 10 hours, no drop-off. Still playing great. There isn’t any noticeable difference, just a tad bit softer.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?) In singles, it had perfect control, much more so than my normal setup.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often. I think it’s hard to really compare this string to the natural gut I use most often. But out of all the strings I’ve tried, this one has the most spin, and for a co-poly, the most comfort. I’ve had to cut other strings out after one session because they were too stiff. But this has a great blend of comfort and spin. The power is just right and I’m quite impressed with this string.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?) I liked the tension I used. I might experiment going a tad bit lower, just to see if it adds any comfort, but I’m happy with where it was at.

List any additional thoughts (optional) I love this string, and hope it’s available in 17 or 18 gauge version, as I like the thinner strings. I plan to keep trying out this string, and also hybrid it to see if I can make it a tad bit better for doubles. I’m quite impressed, and that is not the usual case with me.

Tension used: 55 lbs

Regular String set-up: Head Gravity hybrid @ 55/54 lbs

Racquet used: Babolat Aerostorm Tour

Power of test string: 1.5/5…Power wasn’t something I found from this string. It wasn’t until I really tried to flatten out and “swing away” that I was able to find GREAT depth.

Feel: Mid-Stiff? I wouldn’t say ProBlend stiff but for me, this was a rather stiff poly.

Spin: 2.5/5…This was what turned me off mostly on this string was its spin potential. I had to take significant cuts at the ball to gain exceptional spin.

Comfort: I didn’t notice any discomfort from then string, but I don’t notice discomfort from any string.

Durability: so far 4.5/5…I’m not your standard string breaker so it’s difficult for me to judge this category.

Playability: 5/5… 2.5 weeks in and I can’t notice a bit of tension loss. This string plays VERY consistent IMO.

Control: 4.5/5 Where spin lacked, control gained for me. I felt as though I could put the ball anywhere in the court. The low-powered-ness of this string made me feel comfortable with swinging hard and I was able to find pinpoint accuracy 9/10 times!

Compare with string you use most often: Compared to Gravity, the big downfall with this string would be spin potential. Aside from that, these two are fairly similar to me.

Tension recommendations: If I strung up with this string again, I would bump the tension down to maybe 52 to try to gain a bit more spin.

Thanks TW for this playtest opportunity. Sorry for being a day late. I didn’t realize today WASN’T the 17th until a few moments ago!

Tension(s) used for playtest: 50 lbs, 1 piece strung on a lock out machine.
Regular string set-up: Volkl Cyclone Tour 18g.
Racquet brand and model used for test: Babolat Pure Drive (2015 model)
Power of test string: Power was very middle of the road, but a little on the higher side if taking a full swing at the ball.

Feel (Stiff? Mushy? Muted? Crisp?): The feel of the string tended to change quite a bit over time. It didn't have much of any feel right out of the package, maybe a touch crisp, definitely not mushy/soft. It did become stiffer after about the 3rd or 4th set of play.

Spin: The spin was above average, but nothing to write home about. The best part was how easy it was to access the spin.

Comfort: Not too bad. As mentioned above, it is a little on the stiff side but not jarring. I didn't experience any elbow or arm discomfort afterwards like I do with others.

Durability: Seemed like a mediocre durability offering. It did notch pretty early on. I'm not a string breaker but I don't think this string would last longer than 5 or 6 sets before you would break them or cut them out.

Playability Duration (share thoughts on if/how the playability changed over time): This category was the least impressive component of the string. The playability seemed to change daily. Started out a little on the muted feeling (i.e. not much feel at all) and then it stiffened up a little more everyday.

Control (predictable trajectory? Easy to control depth? performance on different strokes and swing speeds?): This may just be a component of the racquet but I did not like the control this string had to offer. It got to a point where I just had aim for the middle of the court and then I'd hit a few corners. I was never confident in the control of this string.

Compare the performance characteristics to the string you use most often. Less spin, less control, similar feel (though less crisp) to Cyclone. The Solinco had decent ball pocketing but wasn't as forgiving on off center shots.

Tension recommendations (after hitting it, would you recommend a different tension? Why?) I would probably string it a few pounds higher. The easy access to power and spin of the string are a good sign that you can bump up the tension to add a little more control. Though, I can see someone using this in the lower 40's of they had a control oriented racquet.

List any additional thoughts (optional): Thanks for the play test! And apologies for being late. We sold a home and the closing/moving dates were pushed up to the same weekend this review was due. It won't happen again.
