strings will always have a variances in weight and yes adds to the swing weight.
also tw listed string weight for the yonex, again you dont know the string used or the weight of the string/guage
Copolys are are heaviest - adds on the average 15 grams (can go up to 22 grams) - static weight.
did you know the average damper weighs about 3 grams.
I am the only on the that uses are #67 rubber band ( under an oz) - old school - plus I cant justify paying for them - and everyone sprays them around the court - not me..
depends on gauge and string..
maybe best to drop your request swing weight down a tad...

Have you tried the yonex?

Note: on my side the angells actually feel much lighter than the true static weight and swing weight...for most of us in the family..
twistweight much

The new Ultra Tour is going to be BIG. I really wish it had a 16x19 though. Or maybe I'll get used to 18x20...

The only thing holding me back is my wallet and me being scared I won't like the string spacing on the TC97(16x19).

If I plan on using an overgrip anyway does it matter if I choose a leather grip or not? Will that affect the weight or is the different grip taken into account when making the racket?

Yes it matters. Leather grip adds 20-28 grams to the handle. Lowers balance point and speeds up racquet through contact. Overgrips are much lighter, I would say 5 grams on average.

Yes you will have to factor in the amount of weight the leather grip will add to the racquet. The presets are unstrung specs.

The only thing that matters is how you like the feel of leather or synthetic. When you order the frame regardless of what grip you choose Paul will ensure you end up with desired specs. The overgrip will affect balance by a little on any racquet. Not much to worry about

Exactly. That's why I ordered my TC97 with synthetic grip so that I could make it slightly more HL with leather grip.

So many great choices out there, we are lucky.
Hope you find what works best for you.
Takes time, effort and $$...
But it is all worth it..
I wait for no frame...
past and present, again lots of great options..

Yep perfect way to add weight evenly and make it more HL I did it with a blade 18x20 also and worked good. I think many are still confused about what specs to order in regards to the grip, I was also confused until I had it confirmed that whatever specs you order is what you will get regardless of grip type

I dont hunt anymore... not really into it, just something the men in my family tended to do as they came of legal age. By the time I was 17 I just wouldnt do it anymore, though I enjoyed the venison and still do. Normally I wouldnt take a shot like that but deer was running and didnt give me time to sight it.

I just love it how in the US you're man enough to shoot a rifle in a hunt (under a surveillance of an adult, but it's still shooting a firearm which is a danger), but not to shoot your d*ck to an adult woman without it being qualified a rape of you :D

I guess guns just require less brains than a d*ck?

Forgive if I missed this but can anyone compare Swingweight of the
Angell tc 100 custom 63 RA vs Angell tc 100 Tour 67 RA. Trying to assess which would be any different for strictly doubles play. Other specs would be 310/315 unstrung. Thanks

Sorry I was not clear enough. The SW on a custom Angell tc 100 63 RA is 330 unstrung. So I am asking if the Swingweight on a Angell tc 100 tour RA 67 would be much different

Go TC 97, no brainer IMO.

If the price wasn't so high or there was a return policy, I would have long time ago.

I hit with the PS97 non RF version and liked it a lot.

How would the TC97 16x18 compare against the PS97 non RF version on below point

Lets say the PS97 is a 0 on all, the the TC97 can + or -
eg if the TC is twice as powerful as PS97, Power = 2. If PS97 has twice as much power, the Power = -2.

hello.
it´s been a wile since i play with my tc97 16x19, over a year now. I am very glad and satisfied with it.it hits a heavier ball, but i want it more heavier and more forgiving. Do you think the TC100 70ra will hit a heavier ball? do i loose control?

Sounds like you quit playing for a year. Maybe get back into the game before you change racquets But yes, TC100 will hit a heavier ball and accuracy is good

Isn't the cost of these Angell rackets similar to any other racket you'd buy?

It is close if you buy the new latest racket, which I don't.

The cost of the racket is around 185USD. All online retails will ship for free at that price. There's an additional $30 shipping charge with Angell.

Hard to say like that...

I found the TC 97 had better feel, it was more forgiving, more comfortable, more predictable/controllable, and generally more versatile. The PS 97 feels noticeably crisper and has a livelier feel. It's more suitable to a modern tennis style with whippy strokes, while the TC 97 is a complete all rounder.

cant really say since I havent hit with either but one huge plus with angell is you can get another identical one 5 or more years later, hard to do with companies that are constantly changing their "technology"

The 97 had 'pro' on it because that's the decal Paul had in stock and he said the construction is the same as 'custom'.

Had a very brief hit with the racquets. Just for reference, my all-time favorite racquets are Prince Graphite 100 standard length, Dunlop Bio 200G Max (more of a 300 variant), and IG Prestige Mid. The 97 was exactly what I expected - a traditional racquet in a forgiving package (power/maneuverability/sweetspot size) It played so natural to me that I needed little adjustment. 1hbh was made easy. The TC100 in comparison felt a bit metalic and didn't have as sweet a ball feel which I think was not just a result of different strings. Surprisingly the 2 racquets felt about the same in terms of stability and power (maybe even slight edge to the 97), but I think it was because the 97 swung so natural to me while the 100 needed me to adjust to it. Early impressions are I had hight expectations for both and the 97 totally delivered while the 100 will need some time for me to figure out. I was also going to order the TC97 18x20 as collection since it's supposed to be the closest thing to PT280 available, but for now the 97 and 100 will keep me busy.

As you know I am also a huge PCG100 fan. IMO my TC100 plays as close to the PCG100 as I've found, except with more power.

I don't think you can get a TC97 with a strung SW in the 310-315 ballpark...

My 3 tc97 (2 custom, 1 pro) are 325-330 (1.25 copoly)

can anyone tell me how big is the launch angle of their 16x19 tc95 compared to lets say yonex duel g, wilson pro staff 97, yonex dr98? Many ppl say that it has super big launch angle. Are we talking "babolat apd/pure drive" like style or even higher?

IMHO racquets don't have a launch angle themselves, but it depends on how you hitting the ball. You can hit flat all day with TC95 16x19 if you want although it has very open string pattern and you can hit nasty spins above the net if you are capable to rotate the ball. The layup and overall quality is more important how the racquet reacts in contact with the ball than string pattern.

Yeah the Tc95 is really nothing like a pure drive... it can hit flat shots all day long if you want but the spin potential is similar to the babolats if you hit it right. Here's the caveat, its not a tweener and the swingweight is healthy it means you have to be able to feel comfortable with that swingweight to unlock that kind of spin... its not like a pure drive where you can just flick it. It requires the whole kinetic chain. The people who have problems with launch angle are actually having a problem with deploying their kinetic chain in the right sequence.

It has power to burn if you are set up... but if the kinetic chain isnt deployed correctly its just going to spray the ball long. That's not launch angle... that the way spin has to be unlocked with that frame.

Are the overgrips not fitting the grip flaring part not very well and that's what's bothering lol? The Volkl grips weren't very stretchy and I didn't pull them too tight as that will make them last not as long. When griping leathers, I did pull them really tight and made sure they fit snug on the grip.

Paul recommended me the 320/10 pt HL TC 97 coming from my Prestige Pro. I wonder why he chose the 320/10, doesn't that mean the head is light? What not the 320/7 or 330/9?

What about the TC97? Is it good for flat shots as well or do you need to put a lot of spin to keep the ball in?

The weight in the head is the same. The balance point moves depending on where he puts the lead in the handle.

I believe that's the most head-light option available. The most head-light is needed because Prestige Pro is quite whippy and fast through the air, but TC 97 is not. It has weight in the head.

But the swingweight is still about 330 he said. I thought that head light meant lighter swingweight? The Prestige Pro I have is 330g and 6 points HL.
