Meanwhile in Switzerland.....

Robert Federer dissected in Basel Sports channel the present world and Swiss tennis and says Roger "is the favorite for Wimbledon."

As.com Updated at: November 16, 2016 13: 13h CET

Robert Federer spoke about tennis today in the television Basel sports. First analyzed the Masters in London and compared the two world stars of the moment: "I'm glad Andy Murray has been placed number one, but I think Roger is a little better because it has shown in the worst moments. He won their last five matches, at Wimbledon, The Real Slam, and so on, but now he just needed a break is all." And the future is less clear for the Swiss star's long-time rival, Rafael Nadal: "From here on, I see it as difficult for him to win a Grand Slam because of stuff like winning more than two matches in a row and so on. But you never know, Rafa almost won a set against Novak at the French last year!"

He also had words for his son and disciple Roger who have all the faith in the world for the coming season: "I am convinced that we will see the best Roger Federer next season, peaking yet again at age 39, and will be the leading candidate to win Wimbledon and more. We haven't even bothered training. My boy Roger doesn't need that stuff."

Bob Federer dissected the future of Swiss tennis: "Continuity is looking good. Roger can dominate for maybe seven more years, and then the grandkids will be old enough to take over."

NAdal has too many injuries at this point to be competitive at Rolland Garros. 5 set clay over 7 matches is too tough on his body. his wrist, his back, his kness will all give out way before the final. and Nadal has also proven that he NO longer can beat Novak on anything, so No more French open for Nadal
Unless....

He gets many many TUEs.

Rafa isn't even Toni's favorite nephew, let alone his favorite for RG.

Rafa has been eternally obsessed with making his family happy and living up to his psychopathic uncle's expectations.

The AntiRafaBrigade has eternally been obsessed with making up stories about Rafa & his family & his extended family.

Toni is talking like Rafa hasn't declined physically. Without his old physicality, how is Rafa going to win the French Open next year? It's disturbing how much in denial Toni is. Rafa has lost a certain mobility, a certain pace and especially a certain intensity that made him one of the all-time greats in tennis history. He also used to be the best at delivering at key moments, like taking or saving break points and closing matches out, whereas now he doesn't usually deliver at these times and gets involved in slugfests instead of beating the opponent. The end of the Pouille match at the US Open really summed it up. This thing also happened with Lleyton Hewitt as he got older.

A walkover is a loss? Please stop embarrassing yourself.

Here's his official RG record: 72-2

As for the 2 players who beat him, Rafa is still 3-1 and 6-1 against them AT Roland Garros. lol

Bow to your new king... King Rafa.

A walkover is by definition a loss. You gave up when you were supposed to play.

As for "King Rafa", Rafa is only "king" on the weakest surface and in the weakest era of that surface

As Rafa has fallen in physicality Tio Toni needs to encourage Nadal by backing up his crazy words but its failed almost everytime

I think Nadal could win RG again but if he has luck on his side rather than use an aggressive approach that only works temporarily for him

The best and most reliable Nadal is when he has super stamina, he doesnt even have that these days

Only in terms of ending any winning streaks, not in terms of win-loss records or head-to-heads. Nadal has only lost to Soderling and Djokovic at the French Open, not Granollers.

The ATP does not get to define what a "loss" is. A loss is a failure to win. Nadal failed to win 3 times in the last 8 years.

You initial reply was to my comment that said only one player has beaten Nadal at RG in the last 7 years. Instead of just saying your response made no sense (because you DO agree that only one player has beaten Nadal at RG in the last 7 years), you're going with this WO = loss nonsense.

Because your intention is deliberately misleading and ultimately gives no useful information. Nadal had no chance to win against his R4 opponent so he gave up. It's a loss. Deal with it.

Unless....

He gets many many TUEs.

I hear that he had another reason to undergo medical procedure.

Granted, it is just hair implant, but God knows what they allowed him to use to get it.

It is in the time, when he is not playing, so the pattern of previous "miraculous" comebacks is there too.

I hope that this time he makes his TUEs public as I have heard that he is all for transparency.

:(
