Fedace is saying that Waw's racquet is the same as the Tour G

I see. Might be good to have a look here:
Here's what I am talking about:

I was told by a rep that it is real stuff except his racket is bit heavier and balance is different than stock

Fedace, I know you have a hard time seeing but Stan uses the 95D kin Tour G paint job and with nice glossy clear coat over the orange paint. The retail paint is matte.

See,, you can clearly see from the picture above that what the Rep was talking about was true. These vsbabolat and spintolose in this thread are soooo obsessed with pro rackets because they want to pretend like they are really pros they worship when they are playing,,,,they can't see the truth even when the Rep is telling the truth.

I think you have vision problems. Its clearly the 95D. I'm not obsessed with anything. I'm just trying to get the truth out there of what is going on.

Nostradamus, are you going to go whine and cry to TW staff now since 10 people pointed out who you really are?! Instead of threatening, TW should see the obvious in this case, many others do.

Hey doc I cannot imagine that TW does not know that fed ace is Nostradamus. I would not be surprised if he or she is on TW payroll...

I received a "warning" from TW for directly pointing out who this is in one of the previous posts (that was deleted). I could not believe it.

I wonder if the very same TW employee who gave you the warning is the one using Nostradamus account...hmm conspiracy theory hahaha

I'm not one usually for imagining because I use the same racquet as a certain pro the racquet will help me play any better like him, however, in the case of Stan, I'll happily go along with the delusion.

Would appreciate if this thread returned to topic.

haha, one can always dream, right? Once my arm is ok again I will take the Stan-stick out for a few hits...I will let you know, if my backhand all of a sudden turned into a monster-down-the-line kind-a-thing or not...probably not ;-)

and yes, back to topic! thanks.

Saw a closeup of his racquet during his match today at Italian open. It had at least 6 inch strips of 1/4 lead tape at the 3&9 positions.

Why doesn't Yonex just craft a heavier custom racquet for him as he obviously is not happy with it as is?

It was loaded with lead!

Reason being, like all pro stock racquets, the base starting weight has to be light to allow the most flexibility for tinkering the setup. At the pro level, every small variable in the game conditions could throw off a player, that is why that flexibility is so important to them.

All we need is a side by side photo of Stan's pj and the retail VCG. I can say at least the paint finish on both sticks are different, although I am no Yonex expert.

Yes, it would be nice to know the SwingWeight ...

@frinton , have you try to measure it ?

Thank's

Hey guys, sorry for the delay... I am not home often...but finally made time for measuring this weekend.

I measured 7 times (after doing some trials first) - of the 7 results I eliminated the highest and lowest ones. The remaining 5 measurements were between 358 - 364 and the average is 360.6. I hope that helps.

Reg. the comparison between the Wawrinka stick and a retail, if somebody has a VCore Tour 97... I could make comparision pics. What I am pretty sure of is, that Wawrinka's current racket is the same as mine, with a the new VCore Tour G PJ.

I matched both Stan's racquet and the actual 95D on Photoshop. They are a perfect fit. Have a look.
Hopefully we can put this to rest. Stan uses a 95D mold, but possibly with a different layup.

Quick go buy the remaining 95D stock before they all run out.

Good stuff. Thanks for doing that

I am NOT a Federer Fanboy. and you are Ignorant. or Ignoramous. Lifting or Muscles has Nothing to do with being able to handle high SW. Guga Kuerten with NO muscles used racket with SW of around 360
Interestingly I swung Tsonga's racquet last on Monday without strings and it felt pretty light compared to other sticks without strings. I will weigh it on a mail scale maybe next week.

The racquet felt incredible but it will be interesting to see its weight.

Tsongas is supposed to be around 350gr strung. Lot of lead in the top of the hoop. So not very heavy, but quite high swingweight

A picture was posted of his frames without the headguard here and there was a lot of lead high on the hoop. His base frame is pretty light so I could see high swingweight but not a super-high static weight.

Easiest way to see that this is a 95D is the head shape. I play with a Tour G and I also have a 95D and a bunch of 98D (which are very similar to the 95 except for weight and beam thickness), and the head of the Tour G is much rounder than both the 95D and 98D. I know the debate is already settled, but what we see above is clearly a Vcore from 2011-2012.

95D has 6 main strings inside the throat.
Lead at 3&9 anf counter balance plus the leather grip then you have Stan stick.
Kyrios stick even has only leather grip compare to the retail Ezone Xi98

I have 95d and if you add 2 10in strips at 12 basically along the bumper, add 5.25 in (yes 5.25 cause thats what measures out to be from 5th top to 5th bottom up cross string) lead tape at 3 and 9 swap for leather grip you are exactly at 372 strung ~ 32cm bal

Off course since specs tolerances are what they are your mileage might change so you might need to add some lead here and there but IMHO thats how wawi's sticks are set up

PS In my case I used 16 gauge Cyclone and Babolat leather grip so I cant imagine weight of Waerinkas strings and leather hrip to be too far off...

DGORAN,

I have 3 brand new Vcores. Two of them I sanded down and customized to my setup.

The other, I am trying to set it up like Wawrinka just to see how the racquet plays. You said to place 2x 10in strip at 12 all around the bumper guard?

I added:
Yonex leather grip
Yonex overgrip
MSV Hept Twist 16 gauge
Yonex dampener
4x 5.25in lead tape around 3/9 (from 5th top to 5th bottom)

I went to a pro shop and measured the racquet and it came the following:
Weight: 369 grams
Balance: 31.8cm
SwingWeight: 342

I am using TOURNA LEAD TAPE, where 4" of this lead tape weighs 1 gram. Hence, 10in = 2.5g.
If I am using 2x 10in, then the final weight will be 5g.
Current weight + added lead = 369 + 5 = 374 (which is pretty much close to the specs mentioned of 370-372g).

How is this added weight at the bumper affect the swingweight? Is it going to bump from 342 >> 360?

I am going later on at the proshop again and try this 2x10in setup that you mentioned and will let you know.

Any other thoughts?

Here are the specs gathered on the internet.
Racquet: Yonex vcore 95D
Headsize: 95 Sq Inches
Weight: strung: 367 GRAM (without overgrip) -- (with overgrip) 372 GRAM
Balance: 32.1 OR 32.3
Swingweight: 359-360
Stiffness: 63-64
Lead placement: 3 & 9 O'clock ---- Holes: cross 5th on top TO cross 16th on the bottom
Leads length: 5 inch
Over grip: (?)
Grip: 4 3/8
Replacement grip: Yonex leather
Strings: Babolat RPM Blast 17g (I think it is 16g!!)
String Pattern: 16x20
Tension: 27 KG(61 pounds) /25 kg (57 pounds)

PS: I played with a racquet that was about 360g and 355sw, and it was pretty nice to play. Beat my friend 63 63 without much problem. Spin potential was very nice. Although the weight bothered when we played a third set. Guess that these specs are very nice to play but you need the fitness to handle all week long.

I've been studying the Recoil Weight Thread, and I made a simple spreadsheet that calculates Recoil Weight. Based on 360 SW; 372 grams static weight and a balance point at 32.1 CM, I come up with a recoil weight of 181.9 wow. No wonder Stan can play tight poly without his arm falling off.

That's a long way from the USA, what did he charge for the racquet and shipping?
Well, I believe right now it will cost you close to $250 for one including shipping. Last time I spoke to him he didn't have too many left. I was going to buy another one, but just got a line on two slightly used ones.

Nice find. I got mine new for $150 from someone on here in the states. I'll have to track him down. Couldn't believe the price but when it came it had no grip so maybe that's why. Didn't bother me because I was going to put leather on it anyway.

We're both out of luck. I checked my old messages and he said he only had two. One was a grip 2 and the other was a grip 3. I took the grip 2. The other one is probably long gone as this was almost a year ago. Grip 3 is too big for me but you can message him:
