What rating level is this guy?

Nadal wannabe... yuk! Why can't you be yourself and pick some normal clothing?

Nice backhand, not that good of a forehand. He could play D3 in Argentina and win some tourneys, and be somehow competitive at D2.

That video is particularily evident. All looks, little substance. He positions himself well, takes little adjustment steps before returning, he even split-steps, and then, when hitting the ball, "total" disaster.

But he's not a bad player, though. Not at all

But I like the fact he doesn't praise himself in these boards. At least, all he does is searching for Nike outfits to look like the pros.

Xristos, my advice: Learn to hit a proper forehand first. Stop spending money on appearal, and use it on tennis lessons.

The guy looks like he works hard. A bit funny seeing the Nadal resemblance on the forehand, but you know, it isn't the same stroke really.

That forehand has got to be fixed to have a real follow through. I think if he genuinely wants to hit like Nadal....he should learn the WW forehand thouroughly, and once the power and contact zones, rotation and drive are there (which could take a while), he can add his own idiosyncricies (sp?).

Nadal drives through the ball with full motion, this guy sort of stops his stroke early. I like the backhand...just do the same on the forehand.

Why is there a video of him smashing his babolat to pieces on the clay? It doesn't even look like it is a splurge of frustration as he takes his time with it.

Hey!!! That is Greekness on those videos. I know the guy (sort of) and saw him with Nadal at the Aussie Open this year.

Hahaha, at my last tournament we had a guy like that. He wore capris (loose though, not tight like Nadal's), had the same racquet, and had a very similar huge spin + depth forehand (same looking swing). Normally I would ridicule someone like this, but he was a very solid player (nationally ranked junior).

3.5 player, 7.0 poser.

He is at least a 5.0

Complete bull. he has recently been been playing Aussie open amateur tournaments that range from USTA 4.5-6.0 futures players.

Your comment reminds me when I posted a challenger tournament video of a pro ranked 250 and posters where calling him a 4.0!

His backhand is disgusting although is forehand looks effective atleast

Wow you have that backwards. It's hard for me too judge his playing ability, when I automatically don't like him because he's decked in Nike stuff. Looks decent, not as good as he acts though. Maybe 4.5?

3.5 at best. His game is really unpolished, and his shot selection basically screams 'Here. . . put this next ball of mine away'.

nope you're wrong... the best player on the board is you, adlis our 6.5 satellite tournament player.. you're right, this guy's good. he's probably a 7.5....he has the power of federer, the topspin of nadal, and the serve faster than roddick...

USTA does not go higher than 6.0

wow somebody actually recognizes me as a futures level player, oops forgot the sarcasm there. Until i give DNA evidence nobody will believe that i am a futures player.

What kind of forum topic is this? For people who are bored and rate people based on few sec clips? lol, comeon now.....
As for the clip of the guy, he seems decent. Can't tell how well he consistantly hits the balls from a few sec clip each. Prob lazying with footwork, perhaps. I don't like his attitude though... too arrogant.
This is coming from a 4.5 guy, so you can ignore it : )

Adlis, youre rediculous. I nor anyone else ever claimed that I am the "best player on a forum". I am well aware that there are many players better than me at tennis. Its pretty simple; I just stated my rating based on the USTA system and posted some videos for comments and critiques out of curiosity and fun. I dont regard the number "5.5" in any way other than the way my results place myself at that point. You on the other hand seem to have alot of animosity over this either due to you wanting more attention because you play Futures tournaments as well, or jealousy of my being at that level and having the concrete results to show for it (which you indeed, havent shown). The videos I posted again are from around 2004 or 2005, I forget, and I admittedly was around a 5.0 at that time. Through college and summers I progressed to a better and more aggressive player, it shouldnt be hard to believe.

Theres really no other explanation for your berating me. Will you be done soon?

Hey man, don't sweat it. Some people on here just seem to have issues. It's easy to talk trash over the internet, whereas these people know they would never say these things to us on a court or in person. At first it used to upset me when some people on here said it, but now I realize that it's just their nature.

Let these people hate for never being able to be a good player. (this is NOT to the 99% of people here on TW; only the few people who constantly downgrade others' ability based on their own theories) Me? I call it envy. :)

Wow another nadal wannabe I dont get these people that try to mimic and actually play and even copy the personalities of their favorite player. I mean isnt it a little bizarre. Cant people just be themselves. They look like jokes out there. The other day i posted that vid of that asian roddick and that was just too much. This guy has the same style forehand same shoes capris and even copies the way nadal wears his socks. These guys need to be themselves.

lol adlis thinks this guy is better than a 5.5? O.O
Then I would be a pro...

Sorry no offense, he is pretty good but I don't think he is better than a 5.5...

Btw why does he post vids of himself messing up? I looked at a couple and this is what he did:
Hit a return into the net.
Smashed a high shot (not lob) from no mans land.
Sliced a lob to the opponent who was at the baseline
Throw his racket

The guy in this video is a low to mid-level 4.0.

Adlis, I haven't ever seen Tony play, but I have seen many of the Minnesota's other top players play and based on his results, Tony is definitely in the top 10 statewide and a 5.5 level player. Give it a rest.

looks like a 4.0 to me. only watched 3 tiny clips, but his strokes looked weak and unpolished. not smooth at all.

the guy on the video has won many prize money events in Australia so calling him anything under a 5.0 is harsh.

I will Bookmark this page and post again after he enters his first ITF pro tournament next year to prove all the doubters wrong.

You do realize that there was a link to some guy playing basketball against a little kid. Then Rafa Nadal, for some reason, was dinking the ball back to another player on an indoor court. I'm very confused.

mmmk... i don't think anyone really cares. people are simply guessing what he is rated by a few short clips of him, and to me his game does not look all that impressive.

He has a massive following over on MTF so much even that the great Andres Guazzelli has challenged him to a match.

As long as this guy is just being a little silly and doesn't take himself too seriously then I think he's kind of funny. Come on, we all want to wear the Nadal outfit at least once. You hit a big topspin winner then you pump the fist and yell "Vamos!" Sounds like fun but I don't have the guts to do it.

On the other hand, if he's totally serious and thinks he's the next Rafa then he's just a sad poser.

I think his 2hbh is ok, it's his best shot. His serve is poor but it seems to go in. His fh is really bad. I think he'd be competitive agaisnt good 3.5s.
