It is so amazing to see Fehdahls's fake media-manufactured friendship flourish in this latter stage of their careers, even with Nadal edging ever closer to Fehd's goat-tally

One has to wonder just how many more fake smiles and hugs Fehd can conjure up, while his eternal-friend Rafuh genuinely smiles right next to him

To be honest the fakeness is really disappointing. Im not sure the point of it either.

Do you have some type of issue with spelling their names correctly? It's Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Not Rafuh. And not Fehd. Whatever the f*ck that even implies. You silly monkey! :-D

Well are you betting against Nadal at FO and US Open next year? He hardly loses sets at either let alone matches.
Let it happen first before you sing his praises. That's why the matches are played. Federer 20 Slams. Nadal 19 Slams. Djokovic 16 Slams. Most likely scenario is Djokovic reaching #17 at AO.

Nope. Federer still GOAT until Nadal wins 21 Slams :) So 2 more Slams for Nadal and he becomes GOAT.
Sorry but every expert i have heard says Nadal is GOAT. He has won the most of all time at 33. He cant be penalised for not having yet had the same amount of events as Federer to rack up wins.

Federer had 17 at 33 years old. And he has never been as dominant at an event like Nadal at French Open. Add in their h2h and i think its logical to say Nadal is GOAT. He has at least 3 years at the very top of the game. Maybe more given how many years he has missed events.

Doesn't matter if he's won the most of all time at 33. Fact is he's lacking in many other achievements compared to Federer and Djokovic including Wimbledon titles, Australian Open titles, weeks at #1 and WTF titles. And he has a losing H2H against his same-generation rival Novak Djokovic. :D

Too soon to tell. If I had to follow my instinct right now, I'd bet against Nadal at either 2020 or 2021 RG but that's another topic for another time. As for USO, Nadal is clearly not a lock. He struggled to win this year and nearly lost yet Federer and Djokovic weren't on his way. Also, he's never defended a USO title and it's in no small part due to his injuries that can pop up at any time. So yes, I wouldn't necessarily bet on Nadal at next USO.

I dont follow your logic. Nadal has most Majors at 33. Nadal only player of the three to win on all surfaces at the Majors more than once. The only one to win Olympic Singles gold. At the majors he has a winning h2h against both by a big margin.

The gap is widening in Nadals favour.

In the last three years at US Open Nadal has lost less than 9 sets. Thats 20 matches with a possible 100 sets.
LOL! He didn't even face a top 20 player in the US Open in 2017. And he got his legs snapped in two by the time he got through Thiem in a brutal QF 5 setter in last year's US Open.
He hasn't managed to win back to back US Open titles. He's not an overwhelming favourite to win US Open next year. He's a sure bet for RG though. He's not going to beat Novak or Federer back to back on grass and likely not at the AO either.

You a brave person then. No way id bet against Nadal next year at FO and US open.

Wont be betting against Djokovic at Australia or Wimbledon either.

The gap between the top 2 and the rest is massive and as big as ive ever seen.

Sorry bud. Don't agree. Let's see in the next 3-4 years who is the GOAT when all is said and done. Race is gonna be going on for a while by the looks of it. Djokovic isn't going anywhere and nor is Federer. :)

Did you bet on Nadal at US Open in 2018? LOL

He beat Del Potro and Anderson who at the time in the Race were top 5. Who is going to beat Nadal at Us Open next year? Realistically only guy who can is Djokovic and even that is unlikely in New York. The reverse is true in melbourne where Djokovic a lock, and djokovic a strong favourite in Wimbledon.

I cannot see beyond a repeat of this year next year unless injuries play a part.

Nadal won't win USOpen in 2020 because he's never managed to defend a non-clay title in a Slam in his entire 17 year pro career. The curse is real.

Well he's going to be 34 next year too. And it's likely the competition will be stronger as will Mevedev and other players.

Yes i did. And injury stopped him. He was playing the best tennis. Obviously injury is a concern but nobody bets thinking about injuries do they?
LOL! What the heck are you even talking about? He didn't get injured because of his fitness. he got injured because he was taken to his physical limits by Khachanov and Thiem. Have some respect for the other players, mate. Have you ever played a sport? LOL

Honestly, I think Nadal's chances of winning Wimbledon next year will probably be bigger than his chances of winning USO.

Dont troll. Nadal carried an injury into last years US open. He got it in Canada. Its whe he skipped Cincinatti.

As for me..i have played professional sport. So that was not your best argument.

Hard to call Rafa the GOAT if Novak wins both an 8th AO and a 6th Wimbledon in 2020. And if Novak wins a 4th USO, I'm afraid Rafa's chances of being GOAT might be over. He'll need to focus on fighting off Novak while also chasing down Federer.

Well obviously. The GOAT argument is Nadal and Djokovic but Nadal scored a huge advantage getting a 3 slam lead..

Federer is out of it. Nadal is as certain as can be to overtake him now given his French Open and Us Open dominance. Question is does Djokovic get past Federer as well.

This year he skipped Cincinatti to prevent the exact issue that happened last year. So you confirm my point.
He didn't play Cincy the past 2 years. Not sure what you're talking about. He's worried about his aging body which is why he's trying to limit his schedule and peak for Slams.

Hasn’t anybody yet noticed the error in the question of the thread title, kind of assuming Federer’s record will be safe, which absolutely is not?

At 38, even with the help of Tiley's, the Swiss will no longer be able to reach the last instances of a Major.

He was one point from his 21st major 2 months ago. He was the better player in that final. He can absolutely win another couple if things go his way.

No denying that. Too bad Federer didn't convert on those match points. Could've been the big 3 winning all the Slams this year and making the Slam Race conversation even more interesting.
Had federer converted at Wimbledon Us Open may have been different.

I do feel though having only a Big 3 is a problem as mentally its very hard for the two who end up in same half as from get go they have to deal with endless questions for 10 days about the match up. Its very wearing.

When Murray was at his best it felt a bit more even like at French Open this year as there Thiem is obviously a genuine threat. So no real advantage if all 4 make semis.

Medvedev may prove a genuine no.4. Im following him closely this fall.
