Whether or not you like Serena, she's at least tied with Graf now.

I personally don't like Serena. I think she's a bit over the top with her antics. I much prefer her sister.

But, I have to admit, I've never seen a player so dominant in either the men's or women's side. Even Graf wasn't this dominant. Serena now holds all 4 majors at the same time, and honestly, the CYGS seems like it is destined to happen, unless Serena gets injured. However, even with Kvitova, Wozniacki, a resurgent Azarenka, and Sharapova, along with all of the new generation of talented young players, I can't see anyone stopping her. The field isn't weak anymore. Serena is JUST that good.

Whether or not you like her, you have to admit that she's at least number 2 in history. If she wins the USO and ties Graf's slam count, she will be the greatest women's tennis player of all time.

If Serena wins USO then Serena = Graf it seems. Both have same # of slams and both have 1 CYGS and 2 personal slams.

I know some will say Graf has a lot of other stats in her favor, and that is true.

However when you factor in Serena having a great doubles career as well (which IMO is a factor, and should be a factor comparing Graf to Navratilova and Court as well), and the whole Seles situation, I would agree she is atleast tied in greatness at that point. She is clearly already a "better" player than Graf was as well.

Serena over Steffi for me. She's practically tied Steffi for big titles, Grand Slam majors, WTA Tour Championships, Olympic Gold and holds them all right now at 33 after all her ups and downs. Her singles and doubles wins at the Majors gives her the edge for me. Serena is a big time player and has really put the hammer down since 2012, chasing the records now...

Serena needs 23 majors to be "over" Graf. At 22, Graf has various other accomplishments that separates her from Serena.

"Even Graf wasn't this dominant". I'm sorry but if you were watching women's tennis in the mid 90s you would know this isn't true. Back then it was a major sport's headline whenever she lost a match due to how rare it was. Personally I couldn't stand the woman( don't really mind her now) and I far prefer Serena but Graf is probably the most dominant female player there's even been.

I agree, Serena doesn't even come close to Graf in the dominance department. Graf thoroughly dominated for almost a decade. Serena apart from a year in 2002-2003 only started to dominate again now when the field is just weak.

I agree with u. It sucks what happened to seles. Their rivalry would have been great.

Thing is Graf never dominated for more than 2 years straight. She was only dominant in 88 and 89, 95 and 96, maybe 93. I barely count 93 since it was right after Seles was stabbed, and all her slam wins were shaky, and she had a ton of poor losses and performances sprinkled through the rest of the year. 87 she lost only 2 matches, but won only 1 major (Navratilova bested her in majors in fact), and was deserving #1 for sure but not dominant.

I would say most dominant is Navratilova who at her peak lost 2 matches per year for 3 straight years and dominated 5 straight from 82-86.
