What's up with Murray's backhand floating everyone's boats? He has one of the most boring 2 handers I've seen......I like nadal's because have you seen the topspin that boy can generate on that beast, even if he doesn't hit so many winners. Nalbandian has a great backhand, and Djokovic's depth is brilliant. Over all I like watching Djokovic's backhand the most for some reason, I think it may be because his game is the sort of game I want to have.

 imaginative? sike. You devote most of your messages in this section ass kissing murray, bringing cricket into the mix, calling people names. You should be more imaginative rather than butt licking your Brits. As for federer, he isnt even number 1 and i was a fan of tennis long before he was in the mix. ohhh no you made fun of my screen name, unfortunately, you have mistaken me for some who cares.
Edit: Tosser!

lulz, I might have mentioned cricket once (now twice).

im stunned nalbandian isnt coming up for often. I see where Murray is coming from, but how can you compare djoker and nadal with nalbandian and murray? Someone explain to me how Nalbandian doesn't have the best 2hbh out of all these guys....he certainly sticks out to me when talking about best 2hbh

My list:
Nalbandian
Murray
Safin

Agree. Nalbandian's backhand is a thing of beauty, unless you're his opponent. Pace, angles, precision, spin, and then some. As much as I idolized Agassi, Nalbandian's backhand tops his. Anybody wanting to play with a 2HBH needs to watch Nalbandian's.

Djokovic's backhand is probably easier to replicate. It's also more offensive-minded and flatter than Murray's or Simon's. He just looks so comfortable hitting backhands.

Nadal has arguably the best open-stance backhand in the game when he's stretched out. It's more of a heavy topspin rally ball during the points, but he does have his moments with it.

Davydenko's backhand is very steady. If he was a flashier player it would get more raves on this forum. It's practically textbook perfect form.

When I did a poll on backhands, Nalbandian won by quite a few miles. :)

Nalbandian's backhand can be summed up in one word: lethal. For me, he's up there with Safin. Though watching Nalbandian can be a hard thing because you don't know if he'll show up or not (plus, I gotta wait another 10 months until indoor season :D)

He's right up there with Safin, I agree :)

Other players: Djokovic and Murray.

DJOKOVIC"S
HELLO?!?

his is smooth, and he can withstand a 1000000 point rally without it breaking down.

Nalbandians is also solid.

Murrays can miss at times.

nalbandian's is the most dangerous

nadal can hit shots nobody else can dream of off his

but murray's and djokovic's are consistently the best

Hewitt has a good backhand, very consistent and effective with his game plan. Its one of the best strokes in the game. Roddick has the stiff backhand your talking about. I guess for some its hard to distinguish the two players????? And i'm not aussie, i'm American if that matters.

you guys a goofy aussies, hewitts is the most pathetic excuse for a backhand i've ever seen from a world number one, its stiff, predictable, and weak to say the least

Chicagoian, born and bred, and you really do not know what you are talking about. Hewitt's backhand is a very fluid, smooth, and versatile stroke, and Hewitt consistently places it extremely well.

That describes Roddick's more

Why do folks bash Roddick's backhand so much? Yeah, I've criticized his for being stiff, mechanically-flawed, and awkward (okay, uncomfortable) looking at times. But in matches I've watched, Roddick's backhand won't win him many points, but he doesn't pile on the unforced errors with it either. His desire to run around the backhand so often (ala Ferrer and most of the Spanish Armada) and poorly-placed slices are what burns him the most (that is when he's not facing Federer which is an entirely separate issue). The crazy thing is Roddick probably has the 2nd best backhand of any top American men's player (behind Fish).

Well said. I've been watching Hewitt since he was young. His 2 handed backhand is definitely fluid and smooth.
