Why the exuses? Why fed why???

Are you being sarcastic? because I dont see any excuses in that article.

"Injured Federer" is the title of the article... hello? That dont smell like an excuse to you? Especially since he played doubles an hour after his match with canas?

Well you asked "why fed why" as if Federer gave that excuse when in fact its the writer/editor of the article who gave the "excuse" in the title.

he did fabricate the execuse.. he knew the match was going south, and with canas's tenacity there would be no way to win.. so fed starts crying about phantom injuries so that reporters would write about it.. Very poor sportsmanship to take this win away from canas by getting trainers involved.

This is what Federer said in the press conference after the match:

Q. How much is it hurting you, the loss?

ROGER FEDERER: Normal as a normal loss, like I've had about 100 times on tour. So, I mean, I think that's normal to tennis. I have no problems. He played very well. I missed my chances, and I'll pay the price later on.
I think he played very well and I didn't think I was playing poorly at all. So it's okay.

Q. Was your ankle bothering you?

ROGER FEDERER: No, no problems.

Q. Your feet weren't bothering you at all? Then why the time-outs?

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I just had to take the tape off. Both feet (indiscernible) sometimes. You have to do that.

Q. No blisters on the big toe?

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, little bit.

Q. You had both ankles taped. Is that something you do for every match?

ROGER FEDERER: I do, yeah. That's nothing unusual. I tape up from ankles almost all the way up onto the toes. I've had -- many players do it, so it's not some crazy thing. The only problem was that sometimes it really starts to move the tape up front and the foot, and that was not sticking the way it's supposed to, so I just took it off. And the same time, I had problems with my toe, but it was nothing bad, so it was okay.

It seems to me that Federer was very gracious in the loss and didn't make any excuses. Any reference to an injury being the cause of the loss was prompted and enhanced by the sports writers, not Federer.

Fed is actualyl quite smart..

This is like when I beat my friend he would start complaining about his hurt shoulder and that he sorry he cant serve 100%, so he starts to do underhand serves..

Then after the match is over he'd go.. well you played a really good game, even if I could serve you probably would of win..

Don't u see the tactic here? First you pretend u have an injury, then after u lose u suggest it was nothing... but the excuse is there.

I'm totally convinced that Federer is making up excuses for his loss, even though he's doing his best not to make up excuses and even complimented his opponent on beating him. It must be a conspiracy!

I guess for you to be convinced that Federer is accepting the loss with dignity, Federer needs to get on his hands and knees and kiss the feet of his opponent?

so yeah, if u think he's saying excuses...according to you yes, then yeah...just stick with your opinion.
Many people will receive Fed's comment differently I think.

yeah, federer made excuses so hes not the ebst player ever, NOT, stop hating federer, ur jsut jealous cuz hes better than ur faves, he doesnt have to play for 2 years and he will still be numero uno.

The above 3 words best describe you and your pathetic attempts to put federer down after he graciously lost. He could have fabricated a lie about his foot hurting but he said it didn't, he also said he did not want to take the time outs. You are pathetic.

I'll bet that you didn't even watch the match. And for your information, the trainer was called out so that he could remove a little tape off of Federer's foot, had nothing to do with an injury. Boy your posts really continue to show just how much of a moron you are, especially when spouting bogus claims. Let's face it, you just can't take it, that the number 1 in Tennis has just as much sportsmanship as he does game.

Give Canas his due. I watched some of the match on youtube. Canas played smart..I noticed he didn't overtly keep going to Fed's bh side. Canas kept the ball deep and played high percentage.

Most of all, a number of times I saw Fed attempt that damnable short slice tactic. Canas simply accounted for it and hit back deep but didn't approach the net like Fed might have hoped.

Interesting.

How often does Fed stop the match for that infernal tape when he's winning?

Zero!

How often does Fed stop the match for that infernal tape when's he's losing?

Every time!

How gracious is Fed really, when he turns around and says he would have won if they played in the 3rd, or 4th round?

Fed is just a classless loser, with plenty of excuses, a sour attitude, and blinded fans who can't see what's right before their eyes.

Federer--most classless champion ever!

I don't remember Fed fixing anything when he lost to Murray. How about Nadal? Usually when he isn't playing good and wants to.. he gets on his case. I.E. Yelling sh*t while playing against Tursonov. He usually tries to motivate himself while he's losing.

You are right I am blinded. It doesn't matter whatever Federer says in the interviews, what is his attitude,if he stands up for the sport we love au contraire with most other tennis players,if he has spoken plenty of times against gamemanship and by court coaching which some *coughcough* players resort to,if he's the greatest embassador for the sport..none of this matters

Dude.....you have 107 posts on the board.....you may need 1,000 before you get a clue. You must be like 11 years old. Fed's as good a guy as one can be in his position. Grow up.

If you have the tapes go back and view them. This isn't the first time with the taping and re-taping. No, he won't call it an injury timeout, he usually uses the tape as an excuse. Didn't you guys read the article about all of his excuses, or better yet, start reading his transcripts. It's chock full of excuses for every loss he takes!

Excuse me, but I am not a ********. I am a tennis fan, who happens to not worship the ground that Federer walks on. That is my right! I see it as arrogance, you see it as ambassadorship. That's your right. Blinded? I think so!

Maybe you're the one who should grow up since you make such absurd assumptions, and then have the audacity to try to be insulting. This post of yours proves me wrong...you are not 11 but much younger.
First off....Fed is a nice guy. He does not act like a fool..gangsta like NBA players do. He does not cry about a 7.2 million dollar GUARANTEED one year contract like Lance Briggs...He does not run into the stands and beat up fans....he does not tell little kids to F off for an autograph (I never heard it)....he's a likable guy. My OPINION is shared by many/most people on this board. Maybe people are tired of him winning everything and getting close to Pete, but that is besides the point.

I just re-read your posts on this thread and people's replies to you. EVERYONE THINKS YOU ARE A MORON WITH YOUR ABSURD ASSUMPTIONS.

Are you saying Fed came up with the title "Injured Federer" as to talk about how he lost to Canas? The reason for the article is due to seeing Fed take time outs for an injury.
