You may want to put dashes between letters in the .com address so that we know what it is and maybe able to reconstruct the URL address :)
Yeah, TTW wouldn't let me post that specific image for some reason...ended up choosing another one instead...works now...

Too reminiscent of that old Ncode. The 6.2 or something like that
Yikes, I just searched that up and didn't even realise that even existed.

But at least I chose velvet for the base and 3&9, instead of glossy, so there's that...even though just about everyone else seems to hate the velvet...

The whole point of the 85 was "heritage" and they released it in those colros again and they sat on SALE for a very long time. you would be 1% of the 1% that wou

Hmm that silver on the sides is making me feel things in places
Which do you think would generate more sales, custom ps85's or a Fed edition?

What if the customers get their frames in totally different color than expected like wasn't the right green or red

You take a screen shot of the racquet at the checkout page. I don't think there would be a problem getting the issue resolved.

Anyone know what the "Frozen" finish on these frames is like? @PeterFig, are there any other racquets out there that have this finish, for comparison? Thanks!

There's a little button or faq thing somewhere that describes the different finishes. I think frozen is similar to the velvet paint, but I forget exactly what Wilson says. Maybe I'll just go to the page and copy paste it here after I find it again.

"Frozen Smoke is a newly engineered matte finish that has a slight but noticeable gritty texture which aids in making grip changes. Frozen smoke is the finish used on new Burn models."

Seems the current Burn models use this finish.

Would you classify that a smoother-matte finish @PeterFig ?

Actually I would say it's a matte finish with the slightest bit of texture to it. Some of the earlier prototypes we tried were much more gritty which was actually neat but not everyone loved it However the final product is much smoother but there is a slight "roughness" to it. Very slight.

It's exactly this "slightest bit of texture" that turns off many people. (including some matte lovers)

On PS 97S, it created pretty sharp and rough edges. I've actually seen a user got a cut on his non-holding hand while turning the racquet for a BH.

Then again, the outcome can be different if the edges are rounded off.

Uhm.... I'm having a hard time knowing how to respond to you post to be honest :)

Let's try some facts:

1. The PS97S does not have the frozen paint finish we were discussing
2. You can't cut yourself on a paint finish on any racquet! No matter the finish. No matter the racquet model. It's paint.

Never mind, I thought you guys were talking about the velvet paint.

May be I should use "roughed up" instead of "cut". But then for a thin-beam frame like PS 97S, it did feel like cutting his hand for him, and he actually yelled "The frame f~~king cut my hand!!" at that moment :)

Like I mentioned: the beam edges that were not rounded off also played a role. (Then again, his even thinner beam St Vincent PS 85 got sharp edges too, but the regular matte finish seems to be OK for him :) )

The velvet paint was at least NOT helping. The particular user in question owns both the older PS 97S (matte) and the new PS 97S (velvet), he never have the same problem with the old PS 97S, and was so p~~sed off by the incident that he clear-taped the entire throat/shaft of the new PS 97S thereafter.

See... paint is not just paint in this case...

Paint can actually be PAIN !! :)

Is there any way to not have the different colored accent at the sides of the hoop? I like frames that are colored uniformly.

Talking about paint may I know if i can black-out a 2015 Blade 98 with Spray bottle ?
The original paint chip off so easily and annoy me.

I think it's because he doesn't use a full western. Similar to Federer's grip.

It could be depending on the situation/shot but isn't the thumb over the middle finger? Here both index and mid finger is above the thumb.

Another thing you can see in his stroke vs Federer is he tends to brush more, while Fed whips/throws more.

AWESOME from Wilson.... well played..... makes me want a Wilson frame (just a little bit).

Remember, we are the 1% when it comes to the tennis market, the other 99% have no idea about balance, customization, polarization, lead tape etc etc etc..... If you want a personalized customized specs frame you better cough up $400 plus per frame (and what benefit are you gonna really get? I still spank the fart who got THREE personalized hideous-painted frames for about 400 each...).

I think its gonna be a hit. Cheeky monkeys those from Wilson marketing. I think its very very cool.

Hey pableton,

just wondering, do you maybe know where and how can I order a personalized customized specs frame from Wilson? Who do I contact?

Or does anyone else know this?

Thanks

No idea. I only know about Züs tennis, and Angell racquets, where you can choose between diff spects etc. Not a customer but maybe others who are can help you out. I only know about Züs bc a guy at my club had himself three custom frames made.

Wilson soecifically? Really dont know.

I think this is really cool. You'd be able to have a racquet that people can't easily identify. If I want to have a sureshs or LeeD autograph model, I can.

You can go to the Wilson website to Custom Racquets. You can build it and see what it looks like before you order for the Burn, Blade, and Pro Staff. You can also have it personalized with up to 11 characters in the throat of the racquet.

I am wondering if he meant customized specs as in weighting/balance and such. dr. Tennis, they are just offering the paint job and aesthetic personalization on that site from what I see.

You pay for $300 and weight and balance is still off???
Do you really believe custom frames will be higher quality paint job?
Quality of paint job will be exactly same as current rackets. Just different colors of choices.
Same concept like NikeID shoes.
Yeah I agree I could really care less what it looks like when whatever I order from Wilson is going to be 8 grams off and have totally different balance points and I end up trying to lead both of them up to something stupid and they never feel the same....I agree...I pretty much stopped buying Wilson because of this. IMO this is nothing more than putting lipstick on a pig if Wilson's QC is not going to change. They are definitely #1 in tennis when it comes to buying sticks with random specs.

Does anyone know if Wilson will be adding more frames to be customized in the near future? Like the Ultra Tour for example?? @PeterFig?
