Wilson has resurrected the K Six One 95 (18x20) from the grave!

Oh wow I hadn't paid attention to this, I think it's so cool Wilson is re-releasing older models, perhaps other racquet manufacturers follow suit and re-release some of their previously popular frames.

They probably needed a few replacements for del potro and Kyle Edmund anyways so put in an order for 3,000 of them, giving del potro and Edmund 300 each so they never run out again.

@TW Staff

Have you taken an order from Del Potro yet? Can you tell us how many racquets he ordered?

Or did he submit an re-occurring PO? hahaha

I know they are jokes, but didnt Delpo use an older 6.1 painted like the K's? Like an HPS or something?

Ugghhh why couldn’t they have released the 16x18...
The 16x18 was my first racquet. Not the best choice for a beginner, but it's what I got. I still have it, and will bring it out from time to time. It's such an amazing 95in racquet, lots of memories tied to it too :]

K 6.1 with a 69 flex and full poly is an injury waiting to happen. I saw Delpo live, years ago practicing at the US open and it looked like he was using an actual K1, but not get close enough to confirm. HPS 6.1 and the K1 are both really stiff frames and could have been a source of his wrist injuries if he has used full poly all this time.. Only way I would touch a 6.1 is with full gut or a multi. Frames have so much plow, that with a loose swing, you will generate all the pace and spin you could ask for. Good sticks if you can handle them. I liked the Ncode 6.1 best of all of them, but I made the mistake of going with poly and ended up injuring my shoulder.

I have and play with the Classic 95 18X20 25 years reissue. Could anyone say something about the difference between this and the K reissue? Perhaps the main difference is just leather grip on the Classic. But who knows...

I believe the pro staff classics had a beam width of 21mm as opposed to the k-factor and other successors, which were 22mm.

bloody hell....what i wouldn't give for them to resurrect the k90, or even better, the k90 in the n90 pj. I have so many vivid memories of those white 3 and 9 stripes blurring on the tv when fed would cut across his body with that fh. I think those stripes helped add to the "great liquid whip" allure of his fh.

i thought the k6.1s were the worst of the 6.1 95 sticks, but there were some on these boards who absolutely loved them when they originally released

One of the worst 6.1’s of all time IMO. Stiff, heavy, and with a super high SW.

The problem was really Wilson QC. I bought two that played nothing alike. One was in the low 330’s SW and it played great; the second was an unwieldy bat with a 340+ SW.

As much Wilson release that specific mold many times already, I would love to see rereleasing classic rackets like the PS 85 or 90.

I held out on the 90 bandwagon as long as i could. i had a knee injury last year and am thinking to come back with the rf97 rather than my kps88's that I had been using up until now.

Even using ps85 after kps88 feels impossible. It's just too small of a sweetspot if I'm playing anyone that can make me move.

But I still would love to have a k90 or fed version n90 for nostalgia's sake.

Seems like Wilson's heart is in the right place by re-releasing this and the nPro Open (which I strangely remember liking), but they picked the wrong frames. Sort of like how Head's heart was in the right place re-releasing the bumblebee radical, but it's not really the racquet fans are most asking for (PT57A Hello?).

I'd be curious if this re-release plays the same as the original. I've read on here that the radical was way off.

Now, if only Wilson would re-release the PSC or HC 6.1 16x18 and release a 16x19 H19 and an H22.

Be nice if they released the Npro 98.. now that was an awesome racquet.. oh damn, still using it. 18x18.. perfect mix of balance and weight and easily customizable. I can't stop using it.

For sure, I prefer the 2017 6.1 95 18x20 (re-issue). Easier on the arm.

I'd pay US retail + shipping for a reissue of the n6.1 but sounds like the K factor won't be worth it for me
Great to see Wilson bringing back some old favourites though

Back to the auction site for me

The Ncode was the best 6.1 off all time IMO: G-6.1-OAT. Plush and powerful.

Delpo uses Poly/Gut. But you're not wrong either way, dangerous combo - 18x20, stiff as all hell and small headsize.
