Wilson New Project Racquet New Line

Well
I guess the wait has been over. There is a new racket line coming to Wilson

It is separate from the current Pro Staff, Blade, Burn and Ultra family line.

We are too waiting for the launch in Nov! Stay tune for reviews and photos!

We were chosen to test and I’ll not sure how small is the testing group however they are going to launch via social media hence why we are chosen.

I’m pretty stoked but I’m glad R&D is still moving vs paint jobs

Do they target beginner, intermediate or advanced players?

I’m in the dead so the email that was sent was only how they plan to release it and how used the word “revolutionary” technology... I’m not sure but being it is a very social media type of launch it might be toward millennials haha... but rest assure it’s nothing we have ever seen. We are all excited

I actually look to Wilson as being more sensible with their range but this could change I guess. I think Head has lost it in recent years with a ridiculous amount of frames and gimmicks such as the mxg series. It seems the quality has gone downhill. I did think Wilson briefly lost it with terribly cheap feelong frame finished but has recovered with the rubbery finish on the latest series which feels nice and is a throwback to the legendary intelligence series Head did in the early 2000s.

Should be interesting
Those doubting Wilson here, I can attest that it is something completely new and that whatever it is that they did, works. I don't know any specific details about it, but I'm surprised to hear that the launch date has now moved to November. Last I heard it was going to be February. Wilson has been very secretive about this project, and I can honestly say that I'll probably be getting one once they release a slightly heavier version which I've heard will likely come later next year, although that one isn't as definitive as their first launch will be.
shouls be interesting now the launch of the demo is set in November like I said heard no details besides it’s new hahahha

“Revolutionary” you say? Just imagine if it’s a concept where you buy the handle, throat collar, and frame separately so you can mix and match head sizes, grips, and throat dampening.

That would sell well, I’m sure.

I sure hope it's better than other recent "revolutionary" releases from Wilson:

BLX
Amplifeel 360
TRIAD
Spin Technology
Parallel drilling
Countervail
Hyper Carbon

:)

I thought the BLX and Hyper Carbon were fine. Especially in the BLX 6.1 and HPS 6.1.

...I’ve heard this hype before, particularly from Wilson. I’m not doubting them releasing a new line. But whether or not it is “revolutionary,” I’ll need to see for myself.

It will be a return to wooden rackets with a mandatory accompanying sweatband that must be worn at all times.

Let's hope they continue to listen and do what head isn't. The ultra tour was maybe a test before they actually release some sort of custom pro stock options h19 / h22 ... that would be something... but most likely not as the whole paintjob endorsement thing goes straight out the window with that.
A see through racquet, where you can actually see the layup ?
A paintjob that changes color when in the sun, in contact with moisture?
Adjustable length?
Just make a great racquet, so I can replace my worn out ps97s frames :)

The spin technology hype was really over the top and it worked very well to get people excited for awhile...but now not so much.

The sad part is there someone on here who has seen a catalog pic and knows whats up. Haha.
Yep, its like those posts that say "There's something new coming, I've seen it, but I can't tell you anything about it. I just wanted you to know that I'm 'in the know'" lol

Hmm either its a simple rehash with lots of hype and marketing or its a new technology that really won't be anything significant, and if maybe significant hopefully nothing like Head MXG.

Very doubtful they are gonna release an actual good players frame. Also don't be too excited cause it might be excuse to introduce new price point, $279 upwards.

Yeah, that's why I never started a thread. I just figured I'd chime in since somebody else said something. The one that I know of that they are supposedly releasing first is going to be lighter, I think 100" head size, but I heard rumors about that leading to a full new line of racquets, with (hopefully) a heavier players version coming out a little later.
In other words, a replacement for the Burn likely is coming. That would explain the move of the Burn 95 mould to the Ultra 95 (at least from what I know from here).
