I'm not sure the facts bear out this opinion. 14-7, and 6-2 in majors doesn't lie. Nadal at his best cannot be beaten by Federer. Ever.
That said I think Federer could win in straights tomorrow. Federer had an easy match, a day off before his semi, Nadal will be doing his 3rd day in a row, it's maybe his least favorite surface, and he's coming off a year with achievements no one in history has ever done (three majors in a row on different surfaces, etc.). I would expect a let down for sure. I'll say Federer in 2.

Usually I would say Nadal in 3, but Roger has impressed me more at this event.
Matchup works in favor of Nadal, surface in favor of Federer, both reach the final without losing a match, Federer reaches the final without losing a set.
1st set is key, Fed has to gain an early lead or Nadal will stay and eventually prevail.

(Of course, Fed has been somewhat bad in the MS finals he played this year so if ******** comes Nadal will finish him off quickly).

fedal finals are very overrated anyway but gloryhunting fanboys and fangirls will always like them, i guess.
tomorrow we'll see another display of it, with nadal hitting his typical topspin moonballing shots to federer's backhand and then federer making the error or choking in the big points.
nevertheless, this forum is so full with biased *******s that i have no doubt that people will favour roger in the poll again and again they will be proven wrong tomorrow.

2006 Rome final was Federer playing possibly his best ever match on clay, and he still lost.

Great win for Federer against Djokovic. He looks to be in ominous form. Sending a CLEAR message to Nadal.
Let's see if Nadal can recover physically. He seemed to be huffing and puffing against Murray, looked physically drained. His physio will need to do some magic. Nadal will need to be at 100% or it might get embarrassing given that this in an indoor surface and Fed will really move him around.
Overall, I think Murray might have done his part in the 1-2 punch with exhausting Nadal and preparing him for the kill, so that Fed can deliver the coup de grace.
I would go with Fed in 2 tight sets with a 70% probability and Nadal in 3, if he's recovered well enough..

If you take a deeper look at the match stats head to head Fed-Nadal you see that Roger is in fact 7-4 up versus Rafa on surfaces other then the red dirt.
IMO he is the clear favorite in the WTF final tomorrow. Fed is king on fast courts IMO.

Exactly my sentiments. Roger played great today but if you looked at what was actually working in Roger's favor, all those factors are going to be against him tomorrow -
1. Djokovic wasn't really able to go hard to Roger's BH which won't be the case tomorrow. Look for Nadal (as usual) to go there first and repeatedly to unsettle Roger.
2. The number of weak second serves that Murray, Soderling and Djoko gave Roger won't be coming as easy tomorrow.
3. Roger's FH rhythm is very finicky. Unsettle him on the BH and he'll oblige with shanks on the FH side by starting to press more on that wing.
4. Nadal is the superior baseline player and can yank Roger side to side - Djoker did that today on some points with success but Nadal is way better.
The match score will stay close if Roger can keep up his first serve percentage (which it dipped today at the start of the second) and perhaps he can snag a set, but I predict Nadal lifts his first (?) WTF trophy.

Fed was really really good today. But Djoker was not at his best tbh.
Anyways, I am just happy for a Fedal final. Can't wait.
