Yet another Ivanisevic slip

Djokovic was savaged by the media before and throughout the entire AO. It's been going on for months ever since the Adria Tour disaster. You tell me how a guy going through that and an injury at the same time has a clear mind. The statement makes no sense regardless if the comma in the sentence truly separates the two. None of it ever made sense at all. It's died down now and no one has been talking about it, but it still happened and won't be forgotten.
You are basically expecting yellow journalism to influence Djokovic on the court. Good luck with that.

Djokovic never needed to fake an injury to win the match and I don't think anyone has ever insinuated that on this site. Not to my knowledge. There are other factors at play here when someone like him is savaged by the media. Djokovic is a very disliked figure. Now, there you go. Enough with the Djokovic didn't need to fake to win crap. It no longer works now that the cat is out of the bag.
Your purpose of starting this thread, was to insinuate that his injury was not genuine, and to claim that Ivanisevic had confirmed that in a slip up. Now you are diverting it into discussions about popularity and negative media coverage. Seems like a discursive fishing expedition. Good bye, have fun with the rambling, over and out from me on this thread.

Maybe, just maybe the fake injury is how he cleared his mind of all the other stuff...

It did influence him. It influenced him enough to fake an injury so that the focus on his crappy decisions and weird behavior would be on something else.
So you think that he got so bored while being 2-0 up against Fritz that he had time to come up with a plot how to misdirect the bad press? 500 IQ evil genius.

Why not? I'm sure he could hear the cheers from the Kyrgios match that was going on at the same time. Epic match that it was. No one was paying attention or giving a crap about another Djoko straight setter over an American. The environment that night was unique because the fans had to leave and everyone had to quarantine again. Everyone's memory of the night was going to be of the Kyrgios classic and Djokovic couldn't have that. He had enough of the media, Nadal and Kyrgios and everything. Time to make everyone pay and that's what he did. He toyed with us all because he knows he can in this weak field. I know you saw how he reacted to Nadal fan that night during the Fritz match. Djokovic was on edge and needed something to change the narrative.

"If he’s healthy, if his mind is clear like he was in Australia and he knows what he wants to do, the sky is the limit,” Ivanisevic said on The Functional Tennis Podcast.

“Like I said before: Steffi Graf, 372, you know… anything is possible. Most important is if he’s healthy then we’ll see what’s going to happen.”

Nothing to see here, you’re nitpicking.

Man, these boards are 90% fanboy wars, 9% big 3 hair discussion and 1% tennis discussion. Lol

Well Novak is not exactly an ordinary player regarding mental stability. No player in history could pull wimb 19 off for example.

Wimbly '18 Semi-Final was just as monstrous especially in that third set tie-breaker & that 5th set where clutched out so many break points away from Rafa!
