Oh if there's one thing I can't stand when I go on a cruise it's overcrowding babe. :D;)
I'm not claustrophobic, but I don't handle large crowds or being confined very well.
I can tolerate that sort of environment, but not relax in it.

Never liked Goran , as a player , nor my perception of his personality:oops:

He was before my time. In the old matches I've seen I didn't really enjoy his game on grass - aside from certain ones like the Wimbledon 2001 final and the run in general. As a person again most of what I've seen is long after the fact so I wouldn't judge. He seems like a character on the IPTL :D

I don't like big severs and net rushers , with relatively weak BH and movement in general .That W 2001 was great tournament for him, I'm actually glad that he won it finally. That was an inspiring sport story.
He has some specific sense of humor I'll give him free pass for that .
But I will never forget his words that he would rather die than dance at Wimbledon Championship Ball with Monika Seles. Yeah I knew what political situation in former Yugoslavia was at that time (war) but she was his childhood friend and colleague (both trained by Jelena Gencic as juniors in Belgrade), one of World best sportpersons .

I'm less bullish than Goran who seems to view Djoker as immune to the effects of aging. I still think Djoker finishes with 15 slams. He'll have a non-slam argument for GOAT if he gets 15 considering his WTFs, masters, windows of suffocating dominance, and peak level of play. But Fed will probably retain the slam record and his own incredibly strong GOAT argument.

Basically I forecast all of us ******** at each other long after they both retire. The future of TTW is bleak lol.
I look forward to the days when these kinds of discussions are moved to the Former Player Discussions section.

In fairness the statement is only obv wrong as to RG. You could argue the rest. Tho Rafa fans would have 2013 to cite against it.

On the Safin thing, his talent was never anywhere near ND's level so he's not really equipped to make any evaluations of how easy it is for a patently superior player to win slams. Now if Fed or Rafa came out and said the same thing, I'd listen.

Safin had more talent than Djokovic. If Safin had half the mental strength of Djoko, a quarter of his motivation and willingness to go practice and do the hard yards, was not so injury prone (most of those injuries could have been prevented with the right conditioning and prep work - which he couldn't be f^*!^d with), and didn't spend half his time partying and womanizing, senator Safin would have been on 12-15 slams. Talent alone is not enough, Djokovic is proof of that.
Safin = wasted talent, but more talented nonetheless
Djokovic = more accomplished and overall better athlete

lmao...how many slams you win determine talent?
Depends on how u define talent I guess. Regardless, one guy is an undisputed ATG and the other sounds like Uncle Ricky from Napoleon Dynamite: "Man, if coach had put me in I coulda gone pro." ... "I bet I could throw a football over dem mountains."

Kinda hard to take him very seriously.

But yet you act like Goran's opinion came from God's mouth himself. Why is that? He's less 'qualified' than Safin after all.
Substituting your view of me as some Djoker fanboy for reality again. I never said anything like that. In fact I explicitly disagreed with Goran.

talent gets you slams and big wins here and there when it all clicks, which is what happened for Safin. Consistent results at those slams which makes you an ATG comes mostly from determination and focus which Safin had little of and Djokovic has an exceptional amount of.

And junkballing like Federer gets you all kinds of records, no? ;)

Novak's undoing will be his late peak. At the moment he looks like he will win every GS title for the next 10 years but age will catch up to him very soon. Age will not treat him well. His play style is demanding for his joints and body in general. His decline will be similar to Nadal's. Rapid and shocking.

I disagree! He will decline, that's obvious, but will be somewhere between Nadal's sudden demise and Federer's subtle decline.
Djoko has amazing flexibility and has worked extremely hard on his fitness and stamina. That will come in handy when on the decline.

is it possible that Djoko will still dominate for few years? Yes
is it possible that Djoko will surpass Federer in Grand Slam wins? Yes

That being said just remember the case of Tiger Woods. He was virtually unbeatable, on pace to shatter any golf major records. And than - puff. He's not the same player anymore, the likelihood of winning another major is pretty slim. Whatever the reasons are.

and that's what sport records are all about. There's no could have/should have/would have - you either do it or not. So let's wait at see.
