My 100 came and weighed 318.4g with balance 32.9 so thank you Yonex QC! I threw on a leather grip and OG so it’s 329.6g and 32.2cm balance. It is still a light stick so will see how it plays.

My 98 just came in. Weight 304 grams and swing weight 277 (both unstrung with plastic on handle). So it doesn’t surprise me that a lot of posters here have had success adding weight at the tip. 3-6 grams at the tip should bump swing weight by 10-20 points which will help the racquet be a little less anemic than stock form.

Initial impression is that the craftsmanship and frame geometry on this version are both beautiful. Also the 4 3/8 grip feels slightly large, kind of like a Wilson or Babolat, but the buttcap has no flare.
Wow that SW will result in about a strung SW of 307ish yeah? Pretty low.

I chickened out trying the ezone 100 today in my match and grabbed one of my TC100s. Good thing as it turned out to be a close match and i needed the frame i regularly play with. Tomorrow is just some hitting with a friend so the ezone will make it’s debut

Nothing wrong with that choice. Give it a go when you’re just hitting, I think you’ll be happy with how it plays.

Has anyone compared Yonex Ezone Dr98 with Ezone 100 2020? I'd like to know the difference in terms of flexibility. My current stick is TC95 18x20 63RA. THANKS

I'm picking up an ezone 100 this week. Should be able to report back on this later in the week!

First hitting sesion with the 2020 ezone 100. Here are some assessment for what it feels. My profile can be found a few posts above (and I'm kinda rusty after the long winter months)

CONS:
- Swing weight will get some getting used to if you're coming from lighter frames.
- Power level are absurd! Need serious spin to keep the ball in

PROS:
- Feel, feel, feel: contact feels solid, and feed back are very natural and crisp.
- Comfortable, don't let the 69ra fool you, no pain or tingling at all after the 1.5 hrs session. I demoed the pure strike P17 before and that gave me tingling sensation in the elbow after serving for 15 mins
- Power level: both a pro and con, will hit heavy winner if you can control it
- Plow through and stability: stiffness and decent swing weight means not getting pushed around. I hit with a guy with strong 1st serve, and I felt if I can get the racquet on the ball I can return it.

Overall, this is an easy to use racquet, quite maneuverable and large sweet spot. I strung it with Gosen OGSM @52, maybe that's why the power was out of control, so if you can put a control oriented string, up the tension, and have good technique (unlike me), then this is a solid one!

P.s. it's an amazingly looking one, but you will see it a lot on the court!

Hit with my 100 this morning for an hour since that was the only court time we could get and my buddy was very hungover from the night before so he could barely move :D Anyway, initial impressions, such a large sweet spot and very responsive string bed in spite of having a control poly confidential. Pretty easy on groundstrokes although i will need some weight @12 to feel the tip in the air better. Feel is crisp with a decent connection and comfort was not an issue. Few serves i took show potential but unfair to say more. It is a bit too responsive on volleys so good if you’re just sticking a block, but I’m an all courter and need more control there so will see. All feedback on easy to use holds true. Will see how it stands up to my TC100s over time which will be a high standard

Hit w/ the EZONE 98 this morning. Yonex...if you read these threads...please, please, please produce this in a +.

I found it muted, but firm, which I like. Good mix of power & spin. Good maneuverability, although I felt like it could use a little more weight in the handle (just my preference).

Going back to my VCORE 98 +, I could definitely feel a difference...the VCORE is a bit harsher. I could feel a little bit more vibration through the handle, especially on off-center hits (well, dummy, hit the sweet spot!).

Anyway...if they don’t release one by June, I may have to buy one & send it to ****. I liked it that much.

I tried the new Ezone 98 but it did not feel right for me. I then also tried the new Ezone 100 and latest version of Babolat Pure Strike 100. As always, challenge with demo racquets is that the strings are not always great and you don't get the tension you want.

The Ezone 100 felt really nice. I am not usually into tweeters but this one I really liked. The poly string was a a bit too tightly strung (approx. 55 pounds ) but after a few hours it started feeling better. I would need a bit more time with it but I could easily see myself playing with it. Good power and still had decent control. For me ,needs good top spin as otherwise goes out but it was quite easy to swing so topspin seemed to come quite naturally.

The Pure Strike 100 was also really nice. Better control than the Ezone 100 and for some reason my one handed backhand felt better due to the thinner frame. But really needed to hit harder than with the Ezone to get deep balls. I like that but sometimes it is nice to get deep balls without having to hit hard in every shot.

I think I will buy the new Ezone 100 but still also want another frame with slightly more control.

Anyone has tried the Diadem FS Nova 100 ? Spec wise it looks interesting for me with its 23.5 cm thick frame. Problem is they don't have too mane distributirs in Europe.....

I just got the ezone 100 and brought it up to 331g and 31.9cm balance. Closer to my regular frames. I’m also getting the new FS Nova delivered today and will adjust similarly and put same string confidential as the ezone. Hopefully will be able to get court time with all the indoor facilities closure over concerns of Covid 19

Please share your experience with the FS Nova once you have played with it. I found a few sites where it reviewed positively and the specs look promising.
I also demoed the Head Speed MP 360 (not the newest version) but it felt very hollow and weird. Launch angle for my taste too high.

Anyone has any tips for a Pure Strike 100 alternative.......with 22mm - 24mm fram thickness.......? I tried the Wilson Clash 100 (295 g) but was not for me.
I noticed people seem to like Angel TC 100 but the 330 swing weight I am afraid might be too much for me.

I play with Blade 100L v7.0. Bought size 2 (normally have size 3), installed heat shrink sleeve for weight and comfort and some silicone inside handle and some lead at 3 and 9. Plays beautifully well!

Yep, it definitely needs weight at the tip. I put bumper protection tape across the bumperguard and that adds about 3-4g.

I added racquet head guard tape on my racquet as well. Does it really add that much weight? I’ve never weighed it with the tape on before.

Question : Is it a good racket for top spin as a baseline player ?

I have a Blade 98 V7 but would like to try this one too

Btw, the 2019/2018 version on TW is with an incredible price. The 2020 version pays off or it's ok with the older version ?

Update - I now have PolyTour Strike at 45 in my EZONE 98 2020. Best string so far - it tames the power so I'm not hitting long as much. Or it adds spin to help my shots land in more. I dunno. I've only hit twice with the new setup - but I'm liking it the most of the 3 strings I've tried in it so far (Tecnifibre Black Code and PolyTour Pro).

Which gauge of PTP? Tension? Lock out or constant pull?

Received my second 98. It is the exact same spec as the first: 304 grams, 277 swing weight, and 31.1 balance (all unstrung with plastic on handle). I will add 4 grams under the bumper before I string one. That should bring unstrung swing weight up to about 290 and balance closer to 31.5. Also, Yonex QC is incredible.

'Tis the reason why i switched to Yonex. They have all the same line of racquets that does the things you want them to, while making sure they deliver on what promised! Can't believe we have all electric cars but the friggin racquets can't have the same specs.

That's amazing. Sweetspot is huge and lots of stability with lead tape. The 98 is also less square (to me anyways) than the new EZ100 or the previous EZ98.

That's amazing. Sick of having to work so hard to match Pro Staffs now that I am thinking of refreshing my frames. I am a click away from switching to Ezone98 2020, weighted up to 315g 32 cm. Sweetspot is huge and lots of stability with lead tape. The 98 is also less square (to me anyways) than the new EZ100 or the previous EZ98.

If you’re able to demo one, I highly recommend it. I made the switch from Wilson to Yonex about a month ago and I’m very happy with the change.

Mmmm yep, I've been using the Poly Tour Strike and Spin G at 1.25. Those two strings are yum on the Ezone 98.

It says strung weight should be 323 grams for the Ezone 98 but mine weighs in at exactly 323g with an overgrip so is mine a bit light?

It depends. Assuming the strings add 16 grams and the overgrip adds 5, then yea you are closer to 300 grams unstrung. Not a big deal, you can always add weight if needed.

I have now played approx. 6 hours with the new Ezone 100 (play test demo). Feels better every time and the strings have opened up nicely and are now probably around 24 kg (53 pounds).

The racquet plays beautifully.

Pros:

- good power
- easy to use
- stable
- very, very comfortable
- powerful serve

Cons :

- could have a thinner frame but that would then affect some of the positives.

i have been having pain in my right shoulder the past months but after playing 3 matches in a row with the new Ezone 100, the pain has now disappeared. The racquet does not feel stiff. It is very, very comfortable.

Very surprised by this racquet.i have tried several tweeners (300 gram racquets, 100 inch) and never liked them but the Ezone 100 feels fantastic.

It doesn't hurt that the racquet is also in my opinion one of the best looking racquets out there.....:)

Can anyone compare the power and control of the Ezone 2020 to say a Pure Aero?
I played the pure aero LA Decima for few months and this is my simple review about these two racquets
Pure Aero: less powerful, more spin, bigger sweetspot
Ezone 98 2020: more powerful but still controllable, sweetspot about the same with the Ezone 98 2018, sweet spot higher than pure aero

I played about 4 hours totally with the Ezone 98 2020 and here is my comparison , I strung my Ezone 98 2020 with Xcel @55 lb in stock form, Ezone 98 2018 with Origin @52 lb 2g @10 and 2g @2...I am 3.0-3.5 recreational player

Ezone 2020 swings very very fast! The VDM works extremely well and the racquet is very dampened, I don't feel ANY discomfort! In the first 2 hours I played with the babolat Custom Damp but the string bed was very dead, the next day I changed to the Yonex one it gave much more feel!

Power: 8.6/10
Power!Power!Power! Very powerful, even more powerful than pure aero, but still controllable. It took me about 2 hours to adjust to. You can feel the explosive power in both forehand and backhand. I would give ezone 2018 score 8/10, pure aero 8/10.

Control: 8/10
If you stay in the baseline, you can control the ball very well and hit deep easily, the 2018 version has better touch/drop shot. I would give ezone 2018 control score 8.3/10, pure aero about the same with ezone 2018.

Serve: 8.8/10
Great!! Almost same power as pure drive but more control, I hit few Aces in doubles game...ezone 2018 8/10, pure aero 8.5/10.

I will keep my ezone 2018 in my bag for doubles game, It has more control at the net than ezone 2020. But for single game, I would change to the 2020. I will try some low power poly to see how the power level change. Both 2018 and 2020 are great racquets!

And control:)

Sent from my SM-G970U1 using Tapatalk
Yes have played extensively with both. EZ100 is an amazing tweener. It can do everything the Pure Aero can do with better comfort and more control. EZ98 feels alot plusher and somehow more manuverable and quicker to me than the EZ100. Less power in the EZ98 compared to EZ100 but the EZ98 is still a powerful frame. For me, I would choose the EZ98 over the EZ100 as it feels like a racquet that is less clumsy and feels more comfortable. But both need weight in the head for me although reasonably stable in stock form.

With 4 grams at the tip, overgrip, and yonex poly tour pro 1.25 (46 lb constant pull) the spec is: 328 grams, 32.3 cm, and 320 sw. This was my second session back after a 4 month layoff due to a herniated disc. Moving around 70% of full capacity. Prior to my injury I had been playing with the v7 blade 18x20 with 4G at the same static weight but 335 swing weight and 33.1 cm balance. To be honest I wasn’t blown away by the ezone but I need more time on the courts with it. I definitely appreciated the increased maneuverability over the blade. Blade is a softer frame, ezone is stiffer and very muted, no dampener needed. The hit also reminded me how much I dislike PTP 1.25 compared to the other gauges. It doesn’t bite the ball or work the ball, plays like a beefed up synthetic gut. I also may add weight to the head to get the swing weight closer to 330.

Anybody doing silicone in the handle?

Put 5 grams in myself and think it smooths out the feel nicely.

Also, finally hit some serves with the 100, and even with half flat hopper balls, it serves absolute controlled rockets!

Didn't think the pure drive tour could be topped, but this does particularly with the great location consistency.

Lemme break the 900 post on this thread :D

The 100 plays like a dream, powerful on serve, great spin, and the 69 RA is misleading, as it does not cause any arm issue at all thanks to the dampening tech.
