Yonex Vcore Pro 97

G.O.A.T.
Any info on the release date, or pics?

Somebody posted a few weeks ago mentioning the name + paint. Other than the info about the string pattern being 16x19, none of this is new :(

One cross more, shared holes, now one cross less...

Makes me wonder what Yonex is planning for next time.

Same mould?

Let's hope there will still be a 330 g version...otherwise it sounds intriguing! Maybe a successor for my DR98s at last! The color scheme wasn't really the strong suit of the Duel G line, hopefully it will look less cartoonish.

Top Serve in Australia told me the new Vcore range is coming
around the time of the French Open.

Great, comes in in 330 g as well! PJ is ok, at least not offensive to the eye. Not sure I'm a big fan of "Super Cushioning Grip" but that could be replaced if necessary. I like the 16x19 better but that looks like the biggest change to the Duel G. I felt that the Duel G was a bit lacking in the spin/ball grap department. Spec-wise almost identical to my customised DR98s, hopefully it will play accordingly or better! :D And come out rather sooner than later

You'll probably get more feel from this. I'm excited by the 16x19 string pattern - I don't like 16x20. The other big thing is a new Carbon Nanotube implementation via the Namd graphite. Hopefully it won't be a stiff as Hyper-G in the EZONEs.

I prefer 16x19 and new one features NAMD material which might make unique character for this racket.
interesting how the new carbon/graphite material will work for this racket.

agree in theory. wonder what difference it will make in practice. especially in the hands of a 3.5-4.5 player.
Well, Yonex does claim more spin with this iteration. I guess it'll highly depend on the stroke mechanics of the player.

I def preferred the Duel 97 and 100 in 16x19 (skipping the top cross string), so I'm positive on the pattern change.

Yonex' way of selling rackets is always amusing:

Im not liking the new vcore pro.. pics/specs ive seen so far..
orange/black/touch of green should have been this lines colors.
Why they felt they needed to turn this racquet blue AND 16x19 is crazy to me; if I wanted that, I would have looked into a babolat.pd..

Fugly pj. What is that, a faded blue stripe on one side?

It looks like there’s enough space at the bottom to add a string if people want 16 x 20.

Yonex is always interesting that they often change new models for radical changes.
New graphite NAMD will be critical for this racket. It was already adopted to their badminton rackets.
I predict 63 or even 64 RA and slightly stiffer feeling due to material.

This racket is not for babolat PD users who looking for alternative rackets???

BTW Yonex claims that it will have more spin potential than previous version but 16x19 pattern contributes their testing stats instead of new technology so it might be nothing new haha.

Agreed..
The more I look at it, the more I hate it,
this new pj looks like the blue was added as a after tought.
the flat black however looks good..

looks like yet another gimmicky version of the vcore line im gonna skip; like the f, and this new pro..

vcore.g... solid
vcore.dual... solid

The three blue strips??? do look a bit odd in the photos, where you can only see two, but reality is not 2D shot at a particular angle with light reflecting off the blue, so the actual paintjob could look much better in person.

Regardless of the paintjob, this will definitely be my next stick. I love the Duel G 330 and this will most likely be an improvement on it.

16x19 in Yonex is usually denser than Babolat and Wilson. When I changed from Tour G 97 to DR98, I was surprised that 16x19 in DR98 was boardier (not that it's boardy) than I expected. Therefore I doubt the change in string pattern from 16x20 to 16x19 will dramatically change the characteristics, probably just a bit to the feel and spin. It's still 8 strings in the throat. They probably removed the top string and spread out the outer strings a bit. It'll boil down to how much change is made to the crosses in the middle.

Interesting! Still playing with my original VCore Tour 97 310’s and needing an update just due to getting beat up. The Tour G and Duel G versions were too muted and low-powered in comparison even though the specs were super similar and then the shared holes. Will have to try this new one out or maybe just pick up a few other original used ones on e b a y.

On an unrelated note, I have a 95D and 98D as a backup of my backups. Surprised I like the 98D over the 95D since I used to play with the PB 10 Mid at 93 sq inches. Maybe the lower weight? Ah, well.
