Bonjour!
With the change in moderators of the Babolat Official account, we felt it best to start a new thread, so we’d like to welcome you to Bonjour from Babolat….Part Trois! We will do our best to continue the wonderful tradition that Mansoor and Daniel before him created, and we are thrilled to be a part of the Talk Tennis community. Below you will find our intro letters so you can learn a little bit more about us.
Sean:
Bonjour TW forum members,
My name is Sean I’ll be teaming up with Josh to provide you with the most in-depth brand knowledge and product information possible moving forward. We’d like to thank Tennis Warehouse as well as Daniel and Mansoor for paving the way and providing us with a platform to communicate directly with each of you.
A little about me: former college player at Saint Louis University (Go Billikens!); Academy coach at John Newcombe’s Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, TX; employee at Babolat for the past 6+ years. My experiences at Babolat have ranged from Sports Marketing to Trade and Field Marketing activations. I’ve also been fortunate enough to collaborate with our global teams on photo shoots and content creation projects and have had the privilege to be the hitting “dummy” with many of our athletes including Rafa, Thiem, Sock, Fognini, Muguruza, Bouchard, Wozniaki and others. I look forward to sharing the knowledge I’ve gleaned from such experiences while gaining your respective opinions and thoughts on the sport we love.

Josh:
I've been an Inside Sales rep with Babolat for going on 6 years, and I work with accounts in UT, CO, NM, AZ, NV, TX, OK, KS, NE, IA, MO, AR, MS, and TN. Additionally, I’m a member of the Babolat stringing team, and I'm headed to my fifth French Open in a couple weeks. I also found out recently that I'm going back for a third time to the Western and Southern Financial Open in Cincy in August, where I have the pleasure of working alongside the Priority 1 crew. In addition, I have been stringing for the University of Colorado tennis team since 2005.
Prior to working for Babolat, I was the hard goods manager for a racquet specialty store in Boulder, CO, where I started stringing professionally in 1999. We carried equipment for tennis, racquetball, squash, table tennis, badminton, platform tennis and pickle ball. I became a USRSA MRT in 2004, and an ERSA Pro Tour Level 1 stringer in 2012. With roughly 40,000 racquets strung in my time, you could say it’s a true passion of mine. I also enjoy customizing racquets, and was fortunate to have use of an RDC at the shop I worked in. I hope to explore more customizing work in my day to day job for Babolat in the future.
I was also a longtime 4.5 league and tournament player until I tore a meniscus in my left knee in 2011. I still play for fun when I can, and I'm currently using a customized Pure Strike VS. My current setup is:
A 5/8 built to ¾ with a heat shrink tube, roughly 325 grams strung, an inch HL and a swingweight of 320. I say roughly, because I am always tweaking things. Because I can, and because I enjoy it!
I am old school as far as string goes due to sporadic elbow issues, so I shy away from polyester in general. My current favorite string setup is VS 16 mains (54 lbs), Origin 17 crosses (52 lbs).
Some of my racquets from the past include:
Head Edge aluminum (1st rqt, strung with Leoina 66), Yamaha Secret 4, Wimbledon Eclipse 88, Hammer 5.2, Volkl C7 Pro, Quantum 10 Tour, Catapult 10, Tour 9 V-Engine, V1 classic, K Blade 98, K ProTour, Dunlop 200G (black/gray Pioline model), Pure Storm, and Pure Drive Play.
I’ve tried more strings than I can remember or could list here while I was working in a shop, but here are some of my favorites through the years:
DNA Helix, Live Wire XP, NXT Tour, Xcel Power, Origin, Fiber Ace, NRG and of course VS!!!
In order to not get us confused, Sean and I will sign off on each post so you know who you are speaking to. In general, my job keeps me busy until early afternoon Mountain time, so Sean will usually handle the morning shift on the forum, and I’ll have the closing shift.
I want to say how much I'm looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of this amazing and vibrant community. I hope we can all learn from each other, and have fun doing it. I will always do my best to provide you with answers to your questions, and when I don't know something, I will do my best to find out for you. Tennis is my passion, as I'm sure it is for most of you, and I can't wait to share that passion with all of you.
