Coughed up a loose service game in the second and then return goes AWOL (as it normally does these days when he's down). First and third set played at a decent level.

Gael was pretty solid against Baghdatis, played quite a reactive baseline game for the most part and let Baghdatis implode with errors as he struggled to hit through the court and his opponent. Not too many net points were played.
It was a little strange at times though, Gael forcing the issue a little early in his service games and got down in the scoreline, only to serve his way out of trouble multiple times. Baggy had plenty of game points throughout the match. 50% 1st serve percentage ain't gonna cut it either. Ah well...

It's specifically those 2 who commented on Fed's 1st round match that does that. It does get a bit over the top. Thankfully that's as much commentary they do (they're regulars in Dubai, and one of them commentates occasionally on Eurosport), the normal tour will probably be back to the Koenig's and Lester's.

Looks like Monfils found how he can play against him. Attacking his backhands worked well against him from last match.
Serves and forehands are equal but Monfils has advantage on backhands.
Only question will be.... are we going to see Clown hahahaha

Hurkacz seems to be a tough cookie this tournament. Young dude as well. Been flying under most people's radar completely until now.

Just watched highlight of the match and it was solid.
Looks like he is physically okay. He could close the match in two sets but at least he tried to close the second set instead of just giving up the second set or low energy. He regrouped in third set and won.
Hard to believe he keeps playing hard hahaha hope he plays like this until he retires but you never know.
