wth is Hewitt doing there? Alex already has a coach. He doesn't need a baby sitter. Davis Cup and ATP Cup is Finnish.

So, I picked Sinner to win this. But I have to admit, I never expected a domination like this. This really is incredible to watch. It's not over, but holy hell, this has been a clinic.

Does this count as an actual ATP title? If so, when was the last time an 18 year old won an ATP title?

Betterer, Strongerer, Fasterer than the Basel champion in the final? :D Fed's honorary Milan 2019 title ripped away.;)

He has easy power like Berdych. His clutchness, however, is VERY unlike Berdych. This guy is here to stay.

fedr’s first ATP title was won in Milan!

#GoodOmenForLeosNo?
This is just amazing. Start getting your words that rhyme with Sinner vocabulary.:p

I so wish winner of Milan was designated alternate for WTF, then Sinner might be playing again on Monday.:sneaky: Want to see him play everyone else on tour right here, right now.o_O

He said he's played a lot of / too much tennis and needs to work / prepare for next year..
Well that was the line Ricardo fed him, but if Davis Cup were on hard courts this kid is easily better than both Fognini and Berrettini. Fog is nice doubles player.;)

Tough to say in BO5 match. I happen to think that there's a lot more room for someone like sinner in this Next Gen final format, where you don't have to sustain a lead for very long before wrapping up a set. He has more potential than the two of them on hards, that's for sure.

Davis Cup Finals are best of three, so that makes it easy.:D I have thread in General Pro on subject:

Wow, congrats to Sinner the Winner on a dominant performance on home soil in front of the home crowd. When was the last time an Italian player won in Italy? Panatta at the 1976 Italian Open?

Sinner becomes the 3rd different winner of the NextGen ATP Finals Cup (following Chung and Tsitsipas) and the 1st Italian to do so. Amazing result given he only gained entry as a wildcard!

Commiserations to De Minaur, the #1 seed, on finishing runner-up for the 2nd year in succession. He will have 1 last chance to make good next year and make it 3rd time lucky?

Here in Italy, we've been debating this point ferociously since Barazzutti's picks were released a few weeks ago. My only reasonable explanation was that he must have been in contact with the Sinner team, and they mutually agreed that he's played enough for this season (pushing 100 matches including dubs and qualies) and it's best for him to have a good training camp. That's what Jannik appeared to confirm when Nargiso finally asked him during the trophy presentation (it had kinda been the elephant in the room all week long...). After tonight's performance, however, I don't think the talk will go away. After all, he obviously thrives on big stages, plus the Davis Cup is played on the same exact indoor greenset surface... And playing at tonight's level, I'm not sure there'd be anyone in Madrid who could hang with him.
