Haters dont care. All they see is Fedr taking a nap.

Fed will probably still get to the final. His draw is pretty good. Medvedev in BIG trouble in court 1.

Anyway, Novak-Fed won't be pretty. So I hope that either Fed plays better, or gives someone else a chance.

Well, I bet this won't be the last injury we see thus tournament. The grass is incredibly slippery this year and players are falling all over the place. Every match I've seen so far there has been a bad fall. It's clearly dangerous and all it takes is to get stuck like Mannarino did and not only is your tournament over but your season is over. Mannarino most likely suffered a cruciate ligament injury. All these falls can't be due to bad movement, it's to the point of it being out of your control now.
I agree. I love how fresh the grass looks but what were they thinking making it so slippery?

PATHETIC-MUG ERA: Most players don't even finish 5 set matches these days. And then the youngsters in their 20s are TIRED and huffing by set 4.
Work ethic is really lacking these days. It's a shame for tennis really.

Things usually work out for dudes like Federer. I mean he stayed in the match by producing his best tennis. Gave himself that window for the most divine piece of luck. No wonder he was laughing. 99% of life is like this for him.

Exactly. I wouldn't mind if his next 6 opponents had a slip and broke their knee. Not the best way to clinch the title, but it works.

Federer deserves some credit tho.
He was getting better as the match wore on. I am confident he would have won the fifth.
Hope that he won’t miss shots like today in the second round. Gasquet is no slouch.

Yeah lets spend the entire year on not slipping on the lottery surface anyway. I guess DJoko has atrocious footwork as well as he fell over about 19 times yesterday.

Every year Djokovic suffers those nasty slips at Wimbledon and he is the greatest mover on the tour for almost a decade now.

Fed won’t be able to rely on luck for much longer though. He needs to pick his game up big time if he wants a deep run again here.

I expect him to play better in his next round but we all djokovic is the big favorite right now over everyone.

Why would you wish for that? I’d never want a player to win a title this way even Djokovic as a big fan of him.

Fed will need to pick up his game big time if he wants to factor for a while in this slam. He should be ok for round 2 but after that it gets much tougher for him.

I thought he'd lose r1 to Mannarino. Now I see Gasquet, Norrie, Sonego/Busta. Nice road to week 2. Actually, mad as it sounds, Busta might have the balls to do it.

Djokovic-Fed final will be bad for the sport. Because at 40, there is NO CONCEIVABLE way that Fed can even challenge Novak.
If Fed gets to the final, it will be because how pathetic the field is on grass.

My only ask is for a COMPETITIVE final. A match where we don't know the winner before it starts. Unfortunately, that will NOT be the case.

from your watch, do you think that is the biggest thing with fed in his recent matches, playing gingerly so he doesn have to apply as much pressure on his knees? ialso wondered how much he didnt want to risk falling given what we saw with mannarino.

I think that's it mostly. I don't buy the rust talk, Fed plays fine with little matches/limited schedule. His movement and footwork is off and he seems to be constantly on the look-out not to put too much pressure on the knees.

Djokovic_is_the_Best#1 is trying to tell us, if I‘m reading his 50 odd posts correctly, that Fed will have to play better than this to have a deep run.

Just in case any of you missed it.

It's just disappointing to watch Tennis these days.
When Novak plays it looks like REAL tennis. When the bottom half plays it looks like an amateur tournament.
The Fed-Adrian match was at a low level of tennis. Medvedev is choking like a little girl in his match. All just MUGs.

Medvedev is seriously lacking mental strength. Struff looks like the stronger player. Really bad from the world #2. Not playing anywhere close to his seeding.
