Last year after a Davis Cup victory in Romania, Tsonga and Gasquet we're photographed celebrating in a Romanian Strip Club..

I don't think anyone one of these clowns will ever win a major, if you go out and celebrate a Davis Cup win, obviously drunk, in a romanian strip club and don't think that someone will take pictures, something is not working right. It just shows the low mental capabilities of both of these players, they have the game to win, but not the mind. There's just better ways to spend your time than shirtless and drunk in a strip club.

I honestly do not see the relation, I mean, maybe they skip a day of training and do not have the discipline to keep the training required to win a major, (like the 70% of the ATP tour and most of the rest of the human kind), but that doesnt make them clowns. Professional tennis player CAN have fun from time to time you know? JMO.

Ummm i dont see what being in a strip club has to do with mental capacity... sooo tennis players are not allowed to have fun doing other things or they are considered weak minded?

I just believe that when you make a living playing a sport, taking advertising and endorsement money and have fans that range in ages, you have to stay somewhat respectable. O.K., go to a strip club, if thats your idea of relaxing, but don't get drunk (it's obvious), take your shirt off and dance on stage. To me, you have no self-dignity, and true champions, in life and in sports, require dignity.

Yeah, these are a year old and they were posted here at the time.

Trust me, Gasquet and Tsonga may have been the most recent ones who got photographed, but if you think they are the only players who go out, who drink and occasionally get drunk, then you are more than a little bit naive.

Getting drunk is one thing. Going to a strip club, getting drunk, taking your shirt off and dancing on stage is another. I guess it's just my idealistic point of view, where honor,virtue, dignity and respect reign supreme and are demanded when you are in the public spotlight. I'll be damned if Agassi, Sampras, Federer and Nadal were ever stupid enough or are dumb enough to do this or get caught doing it.

Yes and I do draw a distinction when it comes to ignorance.

So I guess I'm the strange one. That's what happens when your father was a 3star general in the air force. If he saw pictures of me doing this when I was 20 (not for going to a strip club but acting like a disrespectful, drunken moron), I would more than be repremanded.

Nadal did do it, and the pictures are out there somewhere. If it wasnt midnight for me, I'd track it down for you. Quite scandalous at the time, 'little' Nadal standing on a counter top (or stage?) lifting up his shirt to stroke a certain small circular part of his upper torso in front of a crowd.

Federer doesn't go out, he's been in a steady relationship for 8 years. Sampras was the same, lived tennis 24/7 and is only now learning to relax (okay, that's an exagerration). Who knows what Agassi actually did, but he did it in an era when everyone didn't have cell phone cameras and credit card size digital cameras.

I think you are being a bit harsh. Not to quote Charles Barkley, but these are athletes and their position as role models should be very limited. Gasquet and Tsonga are pretty young, they are behaving pretty much like most young men their age, except maybe better because they did not drive themselves home that night.

Really. I didn't realize that you were setting the moral standard for pro athletes these days. These dudes are young, rich, and famous. If I was them and I WASN'T getting caught dancing drunk with stippers after my Davis Cup win, I would kick my own ass.

Up there you go. Obviously you've had the drunk, horny 20 year old within you beaten into submission. Honestly though, athletes have been celebrating like this for decades. You don't get to win Davis Cup very often, so when you do you should be able to celebrate anyway you want. Within the confinds of the law of course.

I guess you didn't know much about players in the older generation, like Nastase, Connors, Tiriac, etc. You couldn't keep them out of those clubs. How do you think Connors met his wife (Playboy Bunny)?

The OP is just living in a bubble and doesn't realize that what these guys were doing is very normal and not any big deal. If fact we should hope that other role models/athletes would behave in such a way when out in public. Many do such things as carry guns, promote and host dog fighting, shoot others or themselves. A little shirtless dancing is quite innocent.

There's nothing wrong with it. Your average 23 year old does this every weekend. There's nothing wrong with it at all...

You have to understand that, they are first of all, human beings. Then they are men, and then they are tennis players... I am sure there are lot of roles they are in for their daily lifes, tennis is just part of their life. And it is nothing wrong to have some fun with girls...

Live a little. They are professionals so that means they cant celebrate a big win like amateurs would? You ever seen Freddy Flintoff? Hes always pissed out of his head after a game. And what about footballers (soccer), you always see them being arrested for being drunk and fighting. This is the first time i have ever heard of tennis players having fun.

I'm pretty sure Agassi was well known for his "wild" side. I mean, you don't just go off and meet a celebrity like Brooke Shields at your local Church. Also, Sampras certainly didn't meet Bridgette at a shelter handing out food to the poor.

It doesn't look much like a strip club to me, it looks like a regular dance club.

Podium dancers wear stuff like that; doesn't make it a strip club.
