I think both have made stuff up. That's what the media does. I don't think Red Roman has made up his mind yet and probably won't do so until the season ends, and Mou wants to win the Champions League at Madrid (which he will next season) so there's that.

With that being said, let's turn our attention to summer signings, the most exciting part of the off season. Does anyone foresee any big moves happening? If Mou stays at Madrid, I wonder who he'll sign, as he's given a blank cheque every summer. Madrid are so stacked that they don't need anyone, but they'll sign someone simply because they're Real Madrid. Barcelona probably don't need to sign anyone either but they will because of the new coach. My guess is that they'll drop big bucks on Ericksson or Gotze and then that's it. They do need a left back, though. Perhaps Bale?!!?

No idea about Real Madrid! I think they want defenders from the few things i've read, they said Bosingwa might be an option. Guardiola was said to want to replace a few players and freshen up the squad before he left, i'm not sure if the new manager will be too keen on coming in and breaking the squad up that much. The price Spurs are asking for Bale is just too much though really, I can't see him going.

Chelsea seem to be replacing the big players we had 10 years ago with younger ones, and then bringing them through slowly in the next few years hopefully. Courtois for Cech, Cahill is the same mold as Terry, Bertrand for Cole, Romeu is like Makelele, Ramires gives the energy, legs and power Essien used to before injuries, Lukaku the new Drogba. We've also got a couple of young wide players in De Bruyne and Marin to fill the Duff/Robben role. Who knows if they will be as good, it's unlikely when you think how brilliant everyone has been at different times over the last decade.

The only player who doesn't seem to have a younger one waiting in the wings is Lampard and the box-to-box style that made him one of the top 2 players in the World back in the day. I'd like someone like Gundogan, he's 20 I think and likes to get up and down the field, he scores a few goals in the area from being at the right place at the right time. He'd be good, maybe his team mate Piszczek for right back.

There probably wil be other signings but they usually come out of the blue, Mata seemed to happen in a few days after he was linked with Arsenal all summer, whilst Marin just happened out of thin air it seemed.

You ba$****! I wish I could make the flight over for one of them, and you get to go to both?! Lucky!

Only the FA Cup so far, we're still working on the Champions League final. There's a couple of weeks for that so it can wait for now :)

Are they really "the irons"?

If you're being serious S, the answer is: yes. "Irons" is longstanding West Ham nickname or whatever.

Fena,

Cup Final tickets? What a jammy barstool!:) BTW, I love this from Jose:

“Winning the FA Cup was an incredible moment and something I will never forget,” said Mourinho.

“I used to say it is the competition of the people. When I went to Italy [to manage Inter Milan], in my first match in the Italian Cup, I had 3,000 people at the San Siro and I was saying to people I played in England at Chelsea against S****horpe and Stamford Bridge was sold out.

“They didn’t believe me. It is only possible in the FA Cup. I was speaking about it with Xabi Alonso in Real Madrid — he was at Liverpool for many years and said exactly the same thing. Anfield was completely sold out for a second division team.

“Because of the open draw from the beginning with the possibility of the best teams to play against the smaller teams, every team that go into the competition think it is their competition and every supporter thinks it belongs to them.

“When you win it, the favourite moment is the final — Didier Drogba scoring at the end of extra time, when you are very tired, but you have to go step by step up all the stairs into the moment you get the Cup – I remember every moment of the final.

“The English FA Cup is an incredible competition and people who are in love with the game as I am must have a special feeling.”

Now Spuds back in prime position for 3rd, with Arse having a chance at finishing 5th? Seems both north London and Manchester are trying to outdo each other to see how many huge point leads can be bottled.

I now have some solid respect for Liverpool after viewing them with suspicion for the most part of the season.

After Carroll came on, they were incredible! Chelsea had to defend for their lives.

Liverpool, so unlucky. Wish they'd played well from the beginning.

Chelsea well deserved, can't go two down before you start playing. Although you can blame reina for the opening goal, its actually two mistakes by spearing in midfield that cost the goals.

I agree, I was shocked to see Ramires score the first, Reina was certainly at fault for it from what I could see. Chelsea dominated for the first 60 minutes, whilst Liverpool were excellent for the last half an hour. It's a shame they didn't bring it from the start, not sure why.

It was a great day, Wembley was beautiful as always. We've won alot of FA Cups over the last 15 years and they still feel as special.

2 minutes after Carroll scored, tv camera showed a solemn John Henry as if he was saying "Why didn't KK bring in Carroll earlier (or start him)?" With a cup loss and a disappointng mid table position, I think KK will definitely be given an ultimatum this summer; however with that being said, what will be the ultimatum? 23 pts minimum in the first 10 games of '12-'13 season? Top 4 by Christmas? With another rumored big spending spree, think KK will be under heavy pressure and microscopically scrutinized.

As he should be really, I think he's spent over £100 Million and to be 9th in the League is not acceptable. The phone ins on the radio on the way home today were full of Liverpool supporters saying exactly that, regardless off the result today.

You understand he's a Liverpool legend, but Liverpool are also a team with a huge history of success. The idea of success coming wih Dalglish is obviously one they like, but it's not happening for a variety of reasons.

I think he's not been good enough, TBH. Yeah he's gotten them to a few cup finals now, and Carroll is finally starting to score, but even then to spend that much money and be that far off Champions League football is awful. I don't know who they'd get to replace him, but he needs to go. Also, should Real Madrid (or Barcelona, I think he'd actually be better at Barca than Madrid) come in with an offer for Suarez, he needs to go as well, and give the new manager and staff plenty to work with, because while Liverpool have money, their squad is still a patchwork squad at best, with Suarez by and far their best player.

Sell off Suarez, kick Kenny out the door, and overhaul the squad.

Could be a good plan. I like to see the positives in selling your best players when their price it at it's highest. Man Utd sold Ronaldo and got to a Champions League final a year or two after, Newcastle sold Carroll and ended up with Ba and Cisse etc.. It's a brave move, but one you sometimes have to take.

Suarez certainly has teams after him, Real Madrid as you say, PSG will be able to offer good wages and Champions League football. It's certainly an option to look at.

I think Carragher and Gerrard could also be a problem, Gerrard was awful today, whilst Henderson got alot of the blame, Gerrard was every bit as bad. They're nearing the end, but do you keep them because they are Liverpool through and through, or do you get rid of them and bring in a new era. Another bold decision is needed there, one I don't think Kenny is able to make.

So looking forward to City-Newcastle - should be a real cracker.

Great result for us yesterday courtesy of Norwich. Spurs now HAVE to grab our chance now with these 2 last games. Two wins and we should be a lot happier than seemed the case a few weeks ago. Actually, I think I'm right in saying if Newcastle and us both win our next two matches, Arsenal will then only finish 5th (something like that?)... which is something of a 'silver-lining' thought (sorry PED and other gooners here) considering our calamitous few months. BUT it's still all to play for, a few permutations and possibilities present themselves, and with my lot, it's always best to proceed with extreme caution.

Dave (if you're reading this),

How you feeling about the chances of your claret and blues going up? I'm rooting for you mate... I'll say it again: "Up the irons!":)

Major blunder made by KK and comoli was to loan Aqua to Milan and sold Miereles to Chelsea. By doing so, he gambled on the fact that the newly acquired trio of Adam, Downing, and Henderson will gel and click, and when they struggled early in the season, he had no plan B and had to resort to Spearing and Shelvey.

Dont think Liverpool is bad as NickC pointed out to be, imho LFC is just 3-4 players from competing in the top 4 again, desperately needs a midfielder that can play alongside Lucas, someone that can dictate play, this will enable Gerrard to play up a little more. I laughed when I saw the announced formation Saturday with Gerrard playing behind Suarez. He was no where near that position, it was Hendo that played behind Suarez because as usual, Gerrard had to play further back to in order to initiate the attack.

As for Suarez, I really doubt he is going anywhere. Why would he jeopardize first team football to go to star studded Real or Barca? Liverpool will be insane to sell him given their floundering league position and no CL football is enough to turn away star players; not very likely they will sell their best player.

Fair play to Man City. They really turned things round. I think I was too quick to write them off earlier in the season.

I actually think it helped them not having Balotelli around lately - they've looked a much better team without him on the pitch, more togetherness.

Having Tevez back (never thought it would happen) has been the difference, as said above Balotelli just wasn't doing it and Dzeko has been out of favour for months. Don't think there's a forward who's better for Aguero up front than Carlos.

Yaya Toure is a beast. Miles better than Modric.

He is indeed. We were close to getting him a few summers ago, but Man City came in with the big money and he wanted to play with his brother. We got Ramires instead, so I think it worked out well for both teams.

Yeah, you just can't trust Balotelli. He's obviously a great talent, but you can't risk going into a big game and having him get sent off before half time.

I wonder if England have a similar initiation to some of the club sides, where the new man in has to stand on a chair and sing a song. I can just see Roy Hodgson doing Chris Kamara's charity Euro's song justice, complete with comedy wig of course.

The sad part about the video is that it almost convinced me that England have a realistic shot at winning Euro12. They don't have a snowball's chance in hell. They're nowhere near good enough, France, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Germany and Italy all have a better shot at it than England does, and they're all technically more sound and proficient than England. I'd LOL if Ireland made it further than England, for the record.

I see Hazard is flirting with both Manchester clubs now, being entertained by them, shown around houses etc.. Apparently City are put off by his huge wage demands.

I'm really glad we pulled out of the race in January, he seems to be a time waster and likes to pit clubs against each other. Either that or he's stringing them along hoping for an offer from Barcelona or Real Madrid. Whichever it is, he sounds like someone who should of steered clear of at all costs.

I'd rather have Dempsey putting himself about in the middle of the park- we know he can get it done in the PL.

You're right, he does! You have to give City credit if they are put off by the way he's handling things and the wages he's demanding. It looks like they will win the title so there are many players out there who will want to be a part of it and are hungry to help them achieve even more, players like him looking to mess them around and then move to Barcelona in a season or two are bad news.

They're looking at a young forward from Montpellier instead, which shows they're growing and don't need to pay over the odds for mercenaries like they had to do to a certain extent to get them to where they wanted to be. Now they can call the shots.

I'm by no means saying Fergie and Utd are done, his record speaks for itself but it will make things very interesting to have another alpha male in the league.

Winning the FA cup was fine last year but taking the title is a massive step. It's like when Roman brought in Jose. Both Arsene and Fergie took a long time to adapt-you could even say Arsene never did.

Wow, Chelsea were horrid tonight. Yeah, the two posts early on were bright spots but overall we were trash. Couldn't pass, awful defending, awful shooting, Liverpool were just better.

I hope they don't show up like this in Germany!

Ooh, that's Younes Belhanda!!! He was born the same day I was! I've seen a good amount of him, he's quite a player. Good on the ball, good shot, good left foot, good right foot, can play in the center of the park as well as out on the wings. Fast as hell too. And being French, you know he's got a few tricks he can use from time to time.

You make it sound like we will in Brazil, or the next Euro's, or the World Cup after that :)

LOL I think my country has a better shot at winning the World Cup than yours does at the current moment, and I'm not too high on our chances of winning it in my lifetime.

I really wouldn't worry about it. They had a sort of reserve side out. They'd won the Cup Final three days previously. And with the Champion's League Final looming, they are deep in preparation for one of the biggest most prestigious matches in their entire history.:)

I think you're right. Di Matteo has been great at creating a gameplan and drumming it into the players. Benfica away we knew what they were going to do before even they did it seemed. He got it just right against Barcelona both games so fingers crossed he can come up with something to give us a chance against Bayern Munich.

They're the better team, playing at home and we're missing very important players. Any advantage he can get us by preparing the players to know what to expect and how to handle it could be vital.

Was hoping for an Athletic Bilbao win

Their movement is simply amazing, at least it was till today :-?

I'm not sure about Bilbao. They have some very good young players who everyone seems to be looking at, some days they can be excellent, whilst they also have some really bad results along the way. They're only mid-table in the League aswell, so they've dropped off from where they were a year ago.

I think this summer and next year will be important for them, can they hang on to their young players and start to make headway in the League, which is the bread and butter really.

Interesting to see Bilic say he will stand down at the end of the Euro's.

I've heard a few people say they were fairly certain Abramovich had an agreement in place with someone months ago. Could just be a coincidence, but he has been linked in the past.

Yeah, quite a few of the journalists who work on Chelsea have said Abramovich probably already has a deal in place with someone. They've said Klopp, Blanc or Deschamps. I don't think any of those is worth the risk over Di Matteo. I think he should get a year or two until Guardiola or Mourinho are available, if they're the ones he really wants.

Seeing this (new Liverpool kit below) has got me wondering what Spurs might be rocking up in come next season. Just hope it's unflashy and traditional (and not marred by garish sponsor logo all over the front), and let's hope we don't get a dark brown or pink away kit!:) For some reason, clubs often seem to go a bit more "creative" or "experimental" with second kits - LOL!
