It's true. :lol: He does nothing for me but he was messing with some ska*k behind his girlfriend's back. The ska*k recorded him on her phone talking about their latest conquest, and released the audio to the press. His girlfriend had already forgiven him numerous times for cheating but this time she dumped him. They were together for 3 years.

When did I ever say Nadal was going to win the AO on this forum? I said he would probably get to the QF or SF easily and I still believe that had he played he would have made it to the QF or SF.

Well, I just searched for stuff regarding this story and apparently she freaked out seeing him in the shower because of his huge.... body. Yes, that's what she said. She clarified that "it" was normal. So sorry to any size queens, male or female, out there.
I think men cheat with women who are less attractive than their girlfriends because either they just want to have sex (just physical) and/or the good-looking girlfriend isn't making them feel wanted enough (in their eyes) so they go looking for affection from someone who makes them feel desirable and sexy. And I think the woman with Del Potro is disgusting but I think a lot of guys fantasize about sleeping with all-out *****y-looking women like her... obviously only to sleep with on the side and not enough to be in an actual public relationship with...

That interview was done in 2006 and released in 2007. He was still pretty young then so I wouldn't read too much into it.
I hope he doesn't have mono, either. But I must admit it crossed my mind a lot last year that he may have had it because he had some of the symptoms of it. The immense sweating was one that really stood out to me. Nadal sweats a lot but he was drenched no sooner than he hit the court. He also talked about being tired all the time which is something he never said before. I do think something is wrong with him, but they will never tell us what it is.

I don't think Rafa does have any serious knee injury so you are correct about that and that is why I said if he did enter the AO he would have reached the QF or SF.

A lot of truth in your post, but I'm not sure that I agree completely. You are right that his body has started to fall apart at that time and we've seen since then a lot of curious matches. Coming short at the finishing line is something else. It's more that there was too much density at the top of the game for him on hard courts. It was one of those strange moments in tennis where the top guys seem to be unable to lose at the biggest events, except against each other. He was good enough to win the WTF, but one Murray at his best in the SF and one Federer at his best in the final is a little bit too much for him, especially indoors. Then comes the Djokovic series. It's not enough to beat Federer or Murray in the SF (and on some occasion, a huge Berdych who would have beaten almost anyone else before), there is still a Djokovic playing out of his mind, refusing to lose (how many desperate situations did he turn back in his favor?). In those conditions, it's really tough to win when you have the less hard court orientated game.
It didn't affect him on clay? Are you sure? He actually played 3 very bad matches vs Djokovic and those matches were not the ones played on HC (it was a honest/good Rafael Nadal there), but the ones played on clay and grass.
Ok, he still won Monte Carlo, Barcelona and Roland-Garros, but I've seen him play better (euphemism). I agree that he has a lot of margin on clay where a very bad Nadal still wins most of his matches. But the margin is not unlimited either.
We've seen him lack something many times in the latest years. It's the backhand, it's the serve. And I think it's the result of not being able to practice as much as he would like to. He always has to stop because of an injury or an illness. On clay, his skills are such that he can outmanoeuvre his opponents and conceal the flaws, but only within some limits.

First of all, I was not reacting to your old posts. I vaguely remembered you had talked about that some time ago, but I had skipped most of the discussion at that time since it didn't interest me.
My post that you quote here was a reaction to Ms Nadal's post taking those gossips so seriously ("How could I like him after having read that?"
) Given the circumstances, I was bewildered. There are other things to cry on concerning Nadal than some gossips about what he does with his Mr johnson. And by the way, could I have a link (by PM if necessary)? Yesterday, I read the rumours that appeared on this thread about Del Potro, but I have seen no link about Nadal and I still don't know what makes posters whine about that instead of his new withdrawal and its consequences.
I don't see him as a virginal saint, I don't see him as a serial lover, I don't think that he has a fake girlfriend as a cover, I don't think he's gay and I don't think anything at all. First of all because I'm the last one to believe all the sexual fantasies that people love to project on famous people, and we all know how much a guy like Rafael Nadal attracts those fantasies.
Between the romantic girl who wants to believe that he's a virginal saint waiting for her (fake gf, no one-night stands), the one who wants to see him as a wild sex beast, the people of the gay community who would love to believe that everyone (especially the very beautiful specimen like Nadal) is at least bisexual and the ones who simply love to gossip or destroy, you have the choice.

I've read some posts, but she didn't "name" it, and I didn't want to waste my time reading all the posts written written by those pigs using a player's injuries against him. I only feel contempt for that kind of people.
I don't understand how some tennis fans can be dumb enough to believe in that theory. Even if you want to believe in the "silent bans", it's clear that a player would clearly announce that he would be out of the game for six months or more instead of announcing a come back just to delay it all the time.
It's not difficult to understand that the recovery took more time that he had initially thought and that he's still very hesitant on his knees. With a gastro-enteritis weakening his body, it would be too dangerous to come back now.

He's not such a habitual complainer. He says what he thinks about these things, and it gets a lot of press because of who he is. And why would hc specialists complain about the surfaces? (Fed somehow still does sometimes, but I guess that's ok).
Rafa was complaining about the playing conditions of the blue clay way before he lost. As were many other players. So you just cannot logically say he said that because he lost.
What is beyond me is how people who like tennis for tennis would not look up to him as a model for the game.
