Momentum has shifted at 4, 5, and 6. Gosea looked dead in that 1st now up 3-0 in 2nd. Jesse was down 5-2 and won 5 straight to take set 7-5.

So the hosts will be hosting only this year. Hate to see that. Illinois sure has gone down in the last few years. What has happened there?

Memphis takes out Ole Miss 4-2

Oh yea and I was there. Front and center and in their face. JLyon was there too, working. Little Memphis flat out handled them. Dominated dubs with our #1 player sitting out. Memphis Straight setted the Bears at 4, 5 and 6.

Their fans kept chanting SEC. I couldn't help but laugh thinking about how overrated the conference is this year.

I'm horse now and have a headache from cheering.

So....Georgia won again. Little more competitive than yesterday, but dubs was pretty much a rout, and three quick singles wins got the job done.

Tough match against Oklahoma for sure. But with Ole Miss going down, door opens just a little bit wider for them to sneak into the semi's. A long shot, sure, but it would be a great story after what's happened this week.

just like i posted a few days ago, ole miss wasn't a limiting factor on UGA's progress to begin with

if you can get past a very good OU team you certainly would have been able to get past a terrible Ole Miss team that can't make either the quarters of SEC tournie or rd of 16 in NCAAs

#6 team, lol, don't know whether their ranking or UF's was more laughable

haha, love it, were they making fun of themselves :) , or just as stupid as their conference is bad at tennis?

congrats to your guys!

USC rolling San Diego with Gomez back in the lineup. Tulsa took the doubles point but Baylor is up on 5 of 6 courts and tied on the other.

Is USC cheating by putting Gomez at #1 ? He's been playing #2 most of the year and he is not as good as Sarmiento.

I cheered back "overrated, overrated" ! And laughed at them. I thought of you and Clark when it went down.

It was a great match for Memphis fans. After we got the double point, attention focused to their main grandstand behind courts 1 and 2. The Ole Miss crowd cheered for their two guys and when they won the 2nd of those two courts it made the score 2-2. But they then went dead silent, it was very noticeable. They were in deep trouble on 4, 5 and 6 and in the 3rd set on 3. That's when the church bell just happened to start tolling. Ominous, ha ha. Memphis 4 closed it out soon after making it 3-2, and about 20 minutes later Memphis clinched on 5.

May not have been limiting, but they did beat us earlier this year, with a full lineup. So while Ole Miss was certainly overrated, matchup-wise, they seemed to fair well against UGA.

The SEC problem is not a reason to hate on the SEC. It's just a reason to hate the rankings. The way they work turns it all into one big circlejerk. A bunch of ranked teams trade wins and losses back and forth. A win is against a ranked opponent and looks good. But it also makes any team that loses to you look better. And when all that is going back and forth between a few teams, it skews everything. It would happen in every conference if they started with as many highly ranked teams as the SEC did.

I don't get all that into 'conference pride' when it comes to tennis though, so I was just as happy to see all those teams lose and get "exposed" as you say. Georgia fans LOVE to see Florida lose any chance they get.
