I was just about to start this thread! One that dosen't get started tomorrow is Oklahoma and I think Memphis could very well beat the Sooners.

what's interesting is that Baylor has again opted to not participated in this tournament.

Cal regional:
Cal vs Michigan will be interesting. Campbell Johnson had a couple of nice wins this past week, where will he factor in the Cal line-up? I also would not put a Santa Clara win over Michigan out of the realm of possibility.

Stanford regional:
Texas A&M will beat Stanford. Then advance because both San Diego and Tech had better teams last year.

Kentucky regional:
I think another host goes down here. Texas looks better than Kentucky right now. South Carolina and Michigan State as the consolation game will also be a good match

Duke regional:
Duke will win this but Northwestern vs VT will be a 4-3 thriller for sure. Two super evenly matched teams.

I hope Illinois rebuilds their program, but I will be surprised if they make the final 16 this year, indoors or outdoors.

I noticed that Memphis and Vanderbilt are scheduled to play at Vandy on February 15th which is the 1st day of the National Indoors in Seattle so I guess neither expects to win their regional.

It's a strage date in the first place. The next day is the first day of qualifying for the U.S. Pro Indoor ATP stop in Memphis. They usually have a player in the draw with a wildcard. Just a guess, but I'm sure coaches have thought it through and the match can be canceled or rescheduled. If either wins their regional it will likely take precedence over the dual. May as well schedule a for sure match than a maybe.

Minnesota and VCU starting it off with a tight doubles point. Minnesota took 1 and VCU 3. Gophers were up 7-4 at 2 and now it is 7 all. Minnesota has to take the dubs point to win this match in my opinion.

Minnesota wins the tiebreaker to take it 8-7. I guess that shortened the match by about 5 minutes by not playing the tiebreaker at 8-8. Big savings..

NC State takes the dubs point over Louisville taking 1&2 dubs 8-5. Louisville took 3 dubs 8-4.

Minnesota and VCU split 1st sets in the 4 singles matches going on.

If Frank has really recovered from his injury, he won't stay at #5 for long. Boland just has him there as a precaution for the time being. Ryan Shane at #3 is the shocker there.

IF Frank is really 100%, he'll be at #3 before too long. If Ryan Shane stays above Styslinger, then...ummm...yikes. This team might be better than I thought they were.

Not that we'll figure any of this out this weekend.

Mengel may get bailed out from taking a loss - he's down 7-5 4-0 but Duke is closing to closing out 5 and 6 which would clinch it.

They appear to be playing all these matches out instead of stopping when the 1st team get to 4. Duke up 6-0 and VCU won 5-2.

Kick off weekend, they are supposed to play the matches out to completion. No different from last year.

Exceptions are inclement weather, or if the coaches agree otherwise.

I thought they wouldn't because of time but I like playing it out especially early in the season.

The later matches are less likely to play it out.

Does Ole Miss only have 3 in door courts?

I will be so upset if Texas does not beat Kentucky. I will personally drive to Austin and vandalize Center's office space and demand an apology if we lose to a weak Kentucky team.

looks very interesting ...

San Diego looks tough ... maybe will win this bracket ... if I'm Stanford,I'm sweating buckets at home court..

Kentucky is not as weak as I thought they would be after the loss of Quigley and Alex. Jomby has started this season super strong and it looks like he is fitter and more cut that he was last year. It is a young team on the bottom half, but if Gomez, Roberts(Really like him at #6) and a couple other of the newer players(Cinc joined the team this week) can keep it going, they will have a great year!

NC State with a mild upset over Louisville 4-2. They did stop the match since they only have 3 courts and needed to get Ole Miss/Columbia on.

Weigel was losing the whole 3rd set but then won the last 3 games to steal it and ultimately that was the difference. If UL has held there it would be going down to #6.

San Diego/Texas Tech dubs in a tiebreak at 3 to decide it - USD up 3-0. Nice video as usual from Stanford

Not a very impressive win for Georgia. I'm shocked that Johnson was able to beat Pieters.

After the way Pieters played in the fall that is a disappointing result. Pasha's loss wasn't as bad because Gonzales is pretty tough. We'll have our hands full tomorrow with VCU.

Order of finish: 3, 1

SINGLES
(1) Reid deLaubenfels (FSt) def. #32 Juan Spir (GT) - 4-6, 6-1, 6-4
(2) Vikram Hundal (GT) def. Jeremy Quiroz (FSt) - 6-2, 6-3

(4) Nathan Rakitt (GT) def. Nikolas Papic (FSt) - 6-0, 6-4
(5) Sam MacNeil (FSt) def. Garrett Gordon (GT) - 4-6, 7-5 (5), 6-1

Order of finish: 2, 4, 1, 3, 5, 6*

GT's #2 Melian didn't play.

Horrible loss for the Yellow Jackets, those bottom two players for Gt at 5 and 6 have no business being on a major conference team let alone starting. And Spir with a terrible loss.
