Some things are certain in life, the sun will rise, the sky will be blue and the great Rafael Nadal will win Roland Garros.

Let's be realistic, who is going to stop him. Djokovic? Couldn't even beat Nadal last year when Nadal had his knee numbed, if he can't beat Nadal on ONE leg, how will be beat him on two?
Djokovic only managed to take one set off Nadal last year (Isner is the only man to ever take Nadal to 5 sets at Roland Garros) and that was when the court resembled a swimming pool. It was more suited to Michael Phelps than a professional tennis player.

Andy Murray has pulled out, he knew he couldn't beat Nadal so there was no point in entering. Remember 2011, Nadal's team were concerned before the 2011 final that he might be rusty as Nadal dominated that semi final so comprehensively. Lucky he only had to face federer in the 2011 final.

federer has no chance against Nadal at Roland Garros. Remember 2005, 2006, 2007, 2011 and of course the famous 2008 final, a result so famous one of our top posters named themselves after it. If it was a boxing match the ref would have stopped it early.

Number 8 here we come, I can't wait for 9th June!

I'm pretty sure this board needs another Nadal clay thread. Hey, I know, let's start another one just in case this topic hasn't been beaten to death yet!

KOC or KOT or TDK?!!!
My answer: Rosol. Does it count? How about Soderling? If we can ever find that guy!

I HOPE RNadal draws LRosol at Roland Garros. I want to see LRosol get the biggest humiliation of his life. And it'll be on live TV, too. LRosol will be wishing for retirement.

By the way, we aren't on typewriter technology. You don't have to double-space after each period. :p

Some rules are never meant to be changed, dear! Typewriter techno, or with feather pen.
Careful what you wish for! If it's not Rosol, then perhaps his (evil) twin.

Novak has a 50/50 chance of stopping a fully fit Nadal.
The other 126 guys have a 0/100 chance :)

The key is whether Nadal remains fully fit after 5 matches.

If Pele predicts Rafael Nadal will win this FO it will not happen..quick someone contact Pele and ask him to make his pick!!'

RSoderling was so mentally crushed by RNadal at Roland Garros (and in general) that he retired. RSoderling got straight-setted TWICE by RNadal after his 2009 run. LRosol will be humiliated in an even worse manner. He couldn't even win more than a game off of NDjokovic in Miami. :p

Please, you're Soderling's psychologist now! So crushed...that he retired! Too much credit to your beloved Rafa. Following your logic, Fed would have retired eons ago because he lost so many times to Rafa? And how about the rest of the field because almost no one has a winning record against Fed? Damn, boring to play tennis alone, you know.

Novak Djokovic was unable to beat an injured Nadal in last years final. Therefore his chances of beating a fully fit Nadal will not be 50/50.

You are right that Roger Federer has 0 chance.

Yes, Nole and Gulbis could beat him. Heck, anyone could beat him. He'll be the favorite in every match he plays, but Nole and Gulbis will be dangerous opponents. I would give Nole a 35% chance of beating Rafa and Gulbis and 20% chances of beating Rafa. The rest of the field in any given match has a 10% chance of beating him. lol.

Plenty of people could beat Nadal at RG. I think people are greatly overestimating his form and are going to be in for a rude awakening when RG starts. I don't think he will even make the final much less win it.

I will bump this thread on June 9th as Nadal holds aloft his 8th Roland Garros title. Thats 8 more than Djokovic. :)

Which player is in better form than Nadal at the moment?

Nadal has played 2 good matches throughout the entire clay season. That's hardly anything to bang on about.

I also think that Cvac will be playing a whole lot better when RG starts. I also think that Gulbis could be very problematic for Nadal if they are drawn together. The weather is also supposed to be terrible which doesn't bode well for Nadal either as we have all seen how he struggles in cold and wet conditions. The odds are stacked agaisnt him and he is not winning RG.

Nadal has reached 8 finals from 8 this year. Djokovic has been losing to people like Berdych and Dimitrov.

I'm hoping someone finally slaughters the bull, hoping in 2013 RG has a 'field day' - geddit?

I would also like someone with a right-handed one handed backhand to do it just to rub it in the face. Wawrinka, Almagro, Gasquet, Federer (lol), Berlocq, Kohlschreiber, Haas - one of you better slaughter the bull!!

Again, who cares? Cvac is winning RG. Nobody else even stands a chance.

What happened to your prediction that Djokovic was going to sleep the clay season? I thought you had no doubt about that..instead he has been humiliated against Grigor and Berdbrain. I agree with you that Djokovic has a good chance against Rafa if they actually play, but the chances of Djokovic even reaching the final are not super high.

I definitely think he is vulnerable now. But if anybody is going to do it, they should be ready to go through stalwart opposition. However, if I had to put my money on just a player, I would go with Nadal. He is fully aware of the Djokovic threat, and I think he will be ready.

He has made the final of 7 of the last 9 slams. I think I can say with certainty that he is going to make the final. I also think that he wants Nadal in his half because he's practically a bye for him nowadays. Nobody is beating him at RG, Nadal included.

You should remove that Nadal picture as your avatar. You hate Nadal.
How many accounts do you have at the minute?

Pressure's on ****** for sure. He can try to deflect pressure by saying he's the underdog all he wants. Everyone knows that's not the case. If he winds up in Djoker's half he'll be sweating from the get go. Djoker was wise to avoid playing him after he won Monte Carlo. Now there's that doubt in the back of ******'s mind.

Of course I know what the draw will be:

[1]Djoker-[4]Ferrer
[2]Federer-[3]******

but I hope it's

[1]Djoker- [3]******
[2]Federer-[4]Ferrer

That would be sweet.

Gulbis has no chance in best of five. Only one guy has a chance and that is Djokovic, I think Djokovic has a 40% chance of beating him there if he can make it that far to Nadal.

Although Nadal has won five titles on clay this year he STILL has lost two finals on clay. Nadal also was pushed hard in three set matches by Dimitrov, Ferrer twice and Gulbis on clay. Those players had their chances especially Ferrer in Madrid to upset Nadal. I think a few players have a chance but can be as mentally tough as Soderling in 2009?

Although people attack Robin Soderling he doesn't like Nadal and everyone knows this. I think Soderling's attitude gave him an edge that year in Paris in 2009. Soderling is a special player and I have yet to see another special player other than Djokovic who has the mental toughness to beat Nadal on clay.

Ferrer has the game to beat Nadal on clay BUT not the mind. Ferrer is not as mentally tough as people on this board make him seem. Twice this year Ferrer had Nadal on the ropes in Madrid and Rome and LOST. Especially the Madrid result very disappointed in Ferrer he had a 6-4 4-2 lead against Nadal yet choked. In Rome, same thing.

The draw is out and the victims have been set. This is a great draw for Rafael Nadal, he may get the chance to pummel Lukas Rosol in Round 3.

If Novak Djokovic makes it to the semi-final (Grigor Dimitrov awaits in round 3) then Nadal can record his 20th win over Nokak Djokovic.

In the unlikely event Roger Federer makes the final, Rafael Nadal can extend his domination of the head to head to:

21-10 in total matches
15-6 in finals
9-2 in Grand Slams
7-2 in Grand Slam finals
6-0 in the French Open including an incredible 5th final victory

:twisted::p
