2013 must be the best year of Nadal's career. Imagine beginning a year just wanting to be uninjured.....and then winning 7 titles by June

One masters at least is the word on August. A good Montreal can keep him in contention in the race, and the fifth slam will have to get the short end of the stick once again.

Nadal currently has a 780 point lead over Djokovic in the ATP Race.

Nadal would dearly love to win the US Open again to wrap up Play Of The Year. And despite hardcourt not being the priority, it would also give him 2 of the 3 biggest hardcourt titles of the year (Indian Wells, US Open).

Doesn't matter. That lead will quickly evaporate as soon as the summer hardcourt series starts. Cvac and Murray both will greatly outperform him for the rest of the year. Nadal is not reaching #1 again for the remainder of his career.

It's good to have a good time, but now is just 2 weeks away from Montreal. Maybe he should start focusing on it

I agree. I hate all these goofy sponsorships like Bacardi and PokerStars. Too bad the players council didn't decide to pay him millions or else maybe he would have stuck with it instead of saying it was too distracting and time consuming for him. He's barely practiced at all since Wimby; I doubt he makes it out of his first match at Roger's Cup.

I also hate the PokerStars sponsorship but this one doesn't bother me. The message isn't bad and he replaced another great sportsman (Michael Schumacher).

Ah, yeah like Nadal doesn't focus on tennis enough

If anything, Nadal should focus less on tennis. The less he thinks about such a consuming and stressful sport, the better.

I see this flopping badly. Is there really enough interest in tennis in Mallorca to warrant building this thing? I bet it goes bankrupt in the next 10 years.

Not with all Rafa's millions. I think its a great idea and he's trying to leave something behind. Tomorrow isn't guaranteed and if I was rich I'd be building things too.

Rafa is such a credit to Spain. How lucky they are to have such a legend like him who is doing so much to put something back into his country.

What kind of courts are they. I'm sure they are not h/c as Rafa is against them.

I really like Nadal's shirt in that picture, he looks smart and dedicated. The architectural design of that tennis centre looks amazing also.

Yes Agree. He should be dedicated to DJ'ing and building tennis centers until next years clay court season.

There are all post tennis career options as I'm sure this isn't part of uncle Toni's training regiment. Is he planning on retiring soon?

After Nadal wins the 2013 US Open he'll have plenty of time. Nadal said he was looking to regain form by 2014, so looks like his career is on the rise. The opposite of Federer.

You mean you WISH it goes bankrupt............!!!!

Wrong. I just don't think this gigantic thing needs to be built is all. And I also doubt Nadal will be buoying this thing with his own money if it starts to struggle. Rich folks unload bad investments all the time and he would be no different.

Lol, he's building a bunch of tennis courts not solving Spain's immense financial and rampant unemployment conundrum. Some perspective is in order don't you think?
