There goes Nadal's Wimbledon. Oh well.

Murray/Djokovic winner will win the tournament I feel.

Good chance for Fed too.

I mean the ball bounces low and fast .. Nadal does't have his time to put his massive spin on the ball .

Nadal normally doesn't have any problem with that sort of balls, he's famous for being able to scoop up spinny full western forehands from the ground.

Oh hey, Kyrgios up a break now.

This game is going to extra time SUI-ARG, watching Nadal-Kyrgios now for 5min! Wow also nail biting. Sport is great!"

Lol, I asked him who he wanted to win out of Rafa/Nick, he didn;t answer

How tall are you, President? I would imagine that being 6 ft 5 like Kyrgios helps with that. I'm only 5 ft 10, but my first serve is the shot that can I keep going for even because the swing I have developed is pretty effortless. The problem is that it takes a lot of energy for me to hit good second serves. I need to take a pretty big cut to get the ball to kick nicely.

I am also about 5'10, and my first serve is far from effortless lol. I really kind of muscle the serve, haven't found a way to get a good flowing motion yet. I use the Roddick abbreviated motion, might be a problem for me. And yeah, the second serves also take a lot out of me. I serve with an Eastern Backhand grip now on my second serves (for easier spin) so I have to swing really hard to get any sort of pace on the ball.

Kyrgios drops the cross court forehand in and leads 4-1. The boy is breaking Nadal's will but it's NOT over yet. We're talking about a guy (Nadal) who is the most likely player to even this set and seize back control.

Going to try not to get excited until it's over.

He has to hold three more times and the occasion could get to him, we will see.

updated with this ..

"Nadal is quite clearly a better fighter than murray, but I'd back murray to come back from this more than nadal just because of his RoS

let's see"

Does grass affect the trajectory of the ball before it bounces? I want some of that grass you're having

no dude, but it affects the timing of the returner. Nadal have less time to prepare and hit his strokes, therefore he can't generate as much spin.

Also, he usually plays 3 meters behind the baseline, on grass he needs to play close to the baseline and shorten up his strokes in order to have a chance.

That's even less time to do his uppercut forehand at usual speed and power.

oh, and I doubt you can really see/calculate how much the ball is sniping before it bounces. We notice the Spin by the RHS, the sound generated after contact plus how the ball bounces after hitting the ground.

So your post was flawed anyways.

Hate to say I called this but I did. Rafa simply cannot hurt this kid right now. Unless KG tightens up this is over, and I do not think he will.

Can only hope KG will take out the uber-boring Raonic afterward before ushering Fed into his final vs. Murray.

Come on, the match is not over. Kyrg needs to hold twice more . He will be tight naturally and Nadal is going to go all out to break him.

Board has gone dead silent as Fed fans are deep, deep in prayer. Thankfully, there are two players that can challenge Federer as opposed to pre-2011. Should still be a exciting tournament.
