Also interesting that the crowd is just starting to really vocally back Kyrgios as he is up in the second set. They were fully behind De Minaur from the get go.

That serve out wide on deuce side, can't remember a single point that he has lost when employing that delivery. So effective.... Cruises to a 5-1 lead.

On this form he could go very deep at the AO. Although history says he can't sustain it for two weeks and I suspect that knee won't be 100%.

Nick not looking too impressed but better in all that sweat to me lol. Well, I would pay to see his reaction when he wins a Masters or Slam. Just don't know how long I'll have to wait.

I'm sure he'd rather win this tourney than an ATP500 elsewhere.

The speed of the award ceremony is totally the opposite of the HC's yesterday.

Congrats to both players. Hopefully Nick's knee is okay and he will go deep at AO. :)

How about that humility!

Roger Rasheed sums it up well......it takes time for Nick to get engaged but once he does its difficult for opponents to stay with him. When he's playing a top tier player he seems to be engaged right from the outset but against lower ranked players his disinterest early on is clearly palpable. And 8 minutes for a shirt change and none for a MTO for a pre-existing injury? Nick right to question it and in a composed manner too.

Kyrgios is the most exciting tennis player after Federer, he's creative, unpredictable and has one of the greatest shots in the game.

Kyrgios is slightly below federer and marat safin in terms of raw talent. i'm talking raw talent not achievements

Well I wouldn't call the combination of a 90%-of-the-time loopy *** forehand and a pushtastic backhand an indication of outstanding talent, but Nick shines through with an outstanding serve and a mediocre ground game because he plays much smarter than people give him credit for.

He's content to step back and just frustrate his opponents most of the time on return and only really go for the low percentage shots when the opportunity/need to break arises. His laid back demeanor serves both to relax himself by lowering others' expectations of him and also as part of his mind games against his opponent.

He's quite adept at bunting that backhand into the corners with virtually no backswing though. That I'll acknowledge.

So Nick was in a bit of a hurry today was he and couldn't be bothered playing 3 sets this time? ;)

Congrats to him on his 4th title, 3rd at 250 level and 1st on home soil. He becomes just the 2nd Aussie to win the Brisbane title (after Hewitt in 2014).

Winning a home tournament is the best possible motivator for him to go on and win the biggest home tournament of all. Can he do it???

I've a feeling his reaction will never change much no matter what type of tournament he may win although landing his home Slam might just elicit a smile or two! ;)

I doubt that. He looked "heartbroken" after losing to Fed at the LC, and genuinely happy when winning at the DC or some doubles. I'm sure he'll show more emotion when the time comes. ;)

I think I kind of get him because I'm a bit like him in that sense.
