Azarenka/Barty did not withdraw after all probably due to Barty lost and Vija only play bit more than a set. But they will play again today against Madrid champ Su Wei/Strycova. Azarenka is the only alive player at single.

I’m sure kvitova will be ok for the French. Prob just didn’t wanna make it worse and was clearly gonna lose so no sense in continuing

Rome QF’s:

(1) Osaka v (6) Bertens
Vondrousova v Konta
(WC) Azarenka v (5) Pliskova
(Q) Mladenovic v (Q) Sakkari

All these matches are going to be crackers!

I'll be pulling for Osaka and Mlad.
The other two I'm kinda stuck.
I like both Vondrou and Konta, but have a feeling Vondrou will prevail.
I like Az and Pliskova about the same, prob Az will take it.

After seeing Vika play SW in the AO, I’ve really come to admire her and her game. Even her owl noise she makes doesn’t seem to bother me anymore.lol. She’s been on the tour for some time now, I’d like to see her win another title.

Edit: I’ve never seen players have to play two matches in a day.

Yes, even though I'm not a big fan of hers, I do admire her and her game. There are many other women players who I much prefer to watch.
But when she's paired up with the 'wrong' player, I do root for her. :)
She's probably squeezed out the most from her game, to date.

Oh I've seen two matches in a day for players before, it happens from time to time, usually for weather-related reasons.

Yeah, it’s not that rare, but I can’t remember this many players on both sides having to do it on one day.

I have a vague memory of Sabatini playing 3 matches in one day to reach final against Evert, who herself had played 2 matches.
Also, didn't the Williams sisters both play 3 matches in one day once?
Ironic given Serena Williams now rarely manages 3 matches on consecutive days.
