Please, no! She doesn't need a clothing sponsor – girls who all look the same and sometimes literally indistinguishable one from another are horrible. She at least has her own style.

I really hope Tory Burch sport will sponsor her or someone on WTA tour. She's has high fashion skinny body to rock the line.

I gotta break with Darcy on this one. Petra would be a deserving no. 1, and I’ll be happy if she gets the spot.

Naomi needs to wake up fast.
I agree Osaka is in a slump but you're acting like Kvitova has won title after title this year.

Kvitova since the Aus Open: Lost to Vekic in the QF of St Petersburg. Lost to Bencic in the final of Dubai. Lost to Venus in the 2R of Indian Wells. Into the QF of Miami. She has won 8 matches and lost 3 since the AO.

Better results than Osaka but not exactly building up a winning streak. I would rather Halep leave this tournament #1 with the title too + she holds a slam.

Here's Halep since the Aus Open: Won both her matches to help Romania beat the top seeded Czech Republic in the Fed Cup, Lost to Mertens in the Doha final. Lost to Bencic in the Dubai QF. Lost to Vondrousova in the 4R of Indian Wells. Into the QF of Miami. Halep has won 12 matches and lost 3 since the AO.

Her run of late has been better than Kvitova and better than Osaka.

I ADORE Petra, don't think I need to emphasize that one but I want her beautiful moment when she finally gets to become #1 to be when she wins another slam. I wanted it so badly to be at the Australian Open but it wasn't meant to be. Hopefully the French or Wimbledon. This is just what I hope and want.

Just proves you cannot continuously play like Andreescu has without getting hurt or run out of gas!

Oh you can and is even fun beating Kerber injured lol

Second watch her grow in age and get stronger (Bianca) physically.

Third, stupid old me plays the same. So do Serena, Roger, Muguruza, Kvitova, Kyrigos etc.

How am I acting like she’s won title after title? I’m commenting in view of her entire career. She’s never been no 1 and she’s won two slams. It doesn’t bug me personally that they were a long time ago.

Well the number 1 ranking doesn't look at your entire career now does it?

Karolina is going to win this.

Edit: I shouldn’t have said that.

Great to see Hsieh in brand outfit. We knew she'd get a deal after the Osaka match. Now for the racquet.

Yeah, definitely happy to see her being sponsored now if that's the case. Her outfits are always poor fitting and not really flattering. Though this Grandstand camera angle is terrible, its like that one at the US Open where its so high you can barely see what the players are doing.

Great line up for the quarters. There is no doubt that the women's game is on the way back. Just look back two years Konta won this, inconceivable a player of such limitations could win now. Great to see Simona deal with Williams so well tactically and Vondrousova is so talented, a joy to watch.

She rarely shows ANY emotion. Maybe her personality is more lively off the courts. Let’s hope for her husbands sake.lol
Plish probably feels as deeply as the next player - it's hard to be as determined as she is, without the underlying deep commitment. She may have a British "stiff upper lip" mentality, thinking that there's a time and place for everything, and the court is the place for self-control and a steady focus??

At the Q stage, everybody's tired. Today's winners (Hsieh and Barty?) will have an advantage of a day more rest than tomorrow's winners (Plish and Wang?) when they go into the semis. I wouldn't be surprised if Barty won the trophy this time around. Each one of the four has a good chance, though, great lineup.

Excited by a possible Halep v Pliskova SF.

Those two usually play some great matches and have a decent rivalry building. They've already met 10 times with Halep leading 7-3.

They've met in some big matches, Premier 5 Dubai final, SF of the French Open, QF of the Aus Open, 3 Fed cup matches etc.

The only known "outburst" from the Ice Queen is the umpire chair smashing after her 2nd round defeat to Sakkari at Rome where she was reportedly fined in the four figures.

I saw that match when it was played. It was one of the worst calls I’ve seen an official make. I’m not excusing her behavior, but I can understand why she was so pissed off. One thing I didn’t like was Sakkari stood by and let the call go, she knew the ball was in and let the officials make a bad call anyways. I’m going to attach a video for those who aren’t familiar with what happen. Look at 16 seconds in, you’ll see the score it was 40-40 at the time of the incident and the score actually read advantage Pliskova.
