Sexy Radek works his magic. ONE MORE TIME!

Hell of a performance from Korda. Kept waiting for the Korda Classic moments to come, and after the embarrassing first set they never really did. When he was good he was great, and he played smart too. Will be interesting to see if he can follow up on it now.

The result no one had precockted has arrived. Even being low on Sad's prospects we still managed to overrate him. No sets won against Chokeorda suits you well, saddo.

I’d managed not to watch a single on court interview but thought I’d listen to Seb. But with the interviewer droning on about daddy Korda I tuned out.

SEb just said he was the worst athlete in his family. Lol,its actually truth |:p Doesnt look good for Med tho
Yep. Sister Nelly is an Olympic gold medallist and former #1 in golf. Jessica, other sister has won the Australian Open in golf and been #6. Crazy good family. But his dad is a former AO champ and his mum was a top 25 tennis player too. Incredible.

I wonder how he feels about his dad doping.

Korda’s game is so solid and this type of win will make him strong mentally as well. He belongs in the top 10 and should get there this year

Such a clean ball striker but sometimes he has an inexplicable lack of focus. He seems to get better and better though and doesn't have this "off" moments as often.

A peripheral top 5 player is not a bad career. Tsonga and Goran fit that bill

Absolutely not a bad career no. Consistency wins matches at all levels, just think he's overachieved abit with the time he spent at #1 and he needed a perfect storm almost to win a slam. But he's not the worst player to win a slam.

A slam win for someone like Med is what I'd expect.

A shame guys like Tsonga, Berdych and Soderling never won one though.

It's obvious Medvedev is going through a rough patch but he needs to start elevating his game a bit now. He is playing the same way he did when he was winning big trophies years ago. If he can improve his FH and attacking game he will be a force to reckon with again.

If Novak hadn't been injured he would be feeling very confident of reaching final way things are going.

However he is definitely carrying some kind of injury. Sometimes a hamstring can niggle away without becoming full blown tear, however, he still won't be able to move or play as freely as normal.

Also it can just tear really suddenly and then like Rafa he will be out for about 6-8 weeks minimum.

I honestly cannot see him winning this year because of this, but bnext 24 hours might give us a better idea of situation.

Isn't he like 26-27?

Once Thiem hit that age, and ppl were still saying he could improve...I was saying he was done, and this was before the wrist gave out

Medvedev is 26-27 and that is when the decline starts. If you're an ATG you can manage it...but Medvedev isn't an ATG

I think his window is closing/closed

Couldn't watch the whole match, but he did everything he could to try and gift the first set to Medvedev after being up a double break (4-1). Wasn't impressed by either in that set
Korda has to improve that serve
So much this

Not only is he playing the same game. He's worse at it. Serve is worse, consistency is worse, clutchness is worse. And everyone and their mother have found out they need to get to the net vs. him and he hasn't come up with an answer to that yet
