Bublik new #32, he'll be seeded in Wimbledon.

Kyrgios moving from 32 to 33. If he plays Wimbledon, something that remains to be seen, he'll be a floater, unless
some top 32 withdraws.

Hopefully, this win makes him realize that he has the potential to win GS tournaments.
The problem is he hasn't developed a game between walking on clouds (like this week) and being useless (pretty much the rest of the year).
His peak game is enough to beat anyone in best of 3 but hard to sustain for 7 matches in best of 5. It's almost a different sport.

Bublik becomes the 2nd Russian-born player to win the title in Halle after Kafelnikov (a 3 times winner) in 2002. Halle is just his 2nd title and the 1st at ATP500 level.

Rublev narrowly misses out on this distinction yet again after losing to Humbert in the 2021 final.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man!

To come through a strong field as an unseeded player is remarkable and he thoroughly deserves the win. He plays superbly when in the zone and delighted the crowd. Bravo, Alexander Bublik – bravo! It was impressive how diligently he worked his way throughhis opponents at Halle.

Rublev tried to re-group having been broken early in the 3rd set, but playing 'catch up’ under pressure was a tall order, especially given that AB was in inspired form, serving and hitting incisively.

AR will be disappointed no doubt, but he was outplayed when it mattered, and the moment belongs to AB.

Can he repeat this form at Wimbly? I hope so!

Bubbles playing much better tennis after dumping the EZ and picking up the ISO 305 -- more command on counterpunches, more consistency overall. Good stuff.
