Since beating Novak in the US Open, Medvedev is 0-4 in finals. With this destruction, it looks like it'll be 0-5. Why is he coming up so small when it's time to close out the tournament now?

USO 2021 looking like the worst loss of Novak’s career as time progresses. o_O

I think he’s very unknown on grass. His best result is the fourth round at Wimbledon. Hurkacz has reached a semi.

Don't understand why the Halle and Queens finals are played at the exact same time.
I assume there is a time difference between Germany and England? It was weird seeing both of the matches end at almost exactly the same moment!

Sucks that Med is rounding into form on grass and can't play Wimbledon. Do I think he'd win? No. But do I think Med could prove a tricky test for the other top guys, maybe even pull an unexpected win against someone you might expect to beat him on grass - yes. Plus, his presence obviously shifts the draw. I assume the AEC is holding tight?
How about now?

Title #5 for Hurkacz and 1st at ATP 500 level. In winning 2022 Halle he becomes;

1. The 1st player from Poland to win the title.
2. Just the 2nd player in the history of the tournament to defeat the world #1 player in the final (following Coric's win over Federer in 2018).
3. One of just 7 players in the Open Era to win his first 5 tour-level finals. Most recent player to achieve this was Alcaraz.

His presence still shifts the draw around, and while I generally agree, I can't be absolutely sure. Even if he bothers someone and extends a match, it could effect that player's next match. He needs to be there.

I think he would win a couple of matches only to lose a decent grasscourter.

Didn't watch. What's up with Medvedev getting spanked in back to back finals?
He hasn’t closed well since his ultimate great close at USO’21. Paris (Djokovic), Turin (Zverev), AO (Nadal), and now the two grass finals at Rosmalen (van Rijthoven) and Halle (Hurkacz). He is imitating his great friend Platopas at 500 finals with this 5-pack of failed finals at every level from 250s to slams.

They get along so well. It's no surprise their careers have taken a similar turn.
