Then, I suppose the new Resolutions must look very very similar to these...

Djokovic looking classy? This is fresh. Those are clean Resolutions. Black shoe white socks and white outsole always looks good on anything

Kind of wondering if the Resolution 8 is going to be in any way like the Barricade 7 Novak used to wear. The 7 is my all time favourite shoe and i am quite dismayed at its demise.

Wore the res 7s for an entire season. They cushioned my feet great ...overall I had less pain due to impact so I can't fault them. But god they are a "slow" shoe. Hopefully the 8 will be a more responsive shoe while still having a bit of cushion.

OK... well, the Gel Res 8s are looking promising! I like the black/blue color way. They're surfacing on the Japanese websites.

Stay tuned, we will have a first look video available on the 1st and Chris has spent some time testing these already, so it might help sway your decision one way or another ;)

They need to be wider than the recent versions for me to get them. I am a big fan of the Asics running shoes, but struggled mightily with small toebox on both the SS3s and the Resoultion 7s. The styling is also questionable, especially those godawful white on white shoes that look like someone steped in a silicon poodle with them.

Hey Michelle, do you know if these shoes will have the six month outsole warranty?

Whatever "Flexionfit" is, it's still around in the 8. New is DynaWrap and DynaWall. Both seem to lend to stability - did anyone experience stability issues in the past? I had heel-fit issues and was never able to wear these.

Also, in one of the Japanese-language promotional pics, there seems to be a pocket or space where you can tuck in your lace loops after tying them.

As far as we know, yes! And increased stability!

That's music to my ears! Looking forward to hearing y'all's impressions of them soon. Would love to know how they fit ASAP because I'm planning to buy some as soon as they're available.

Gel Resolution 7 was huge upgrade for me coming from budget hardcourt New Balances that ran small and squished my toes. Also left me with arch pain. No foot-pain at all with the 7’s, so I’ll be looking for an opportunity to stock up on a couple more pairs of these as the 8’s come out. Have the Koi, so may look for a more conservative colorway.

I got this shoe yesterday! Will try this weekend a couple of times and then post a first impression article on Jonas site tennisnerd.net

Just tried them on at home and the intitial feel is that the cushioning is much improved. More to follow..

Yup I don’t know how anyone with a normal width foot can fit into them. I had tried the 6 before and they were very narrow and too long. And my foot is a probably a little less than normal width.

If you tried the 6 would you say they are wider?

Interesting. As far as cushion goes, I am dumbfounded by the number of people that say the FF2 and Gel Res are well cushioned. Maybe by comparison to other less cushioned shoes I suppose. I have worn most of the shoes out there and my T22 lites protect my knees far better than any ASICS shoe. I loved the fit of the FF2 though and if these gels are that tyoe
If fit with more cushioning, I will probably try them.

Photos are already available of 2 colourways here (and already selling if you are in Switzerland :p)

Anyone tried them on yet? The lateral support plates/shank on the side of the shoes seem a lot to me like Barricades, which if true would certainly not be good for my feet.....

Michelle, do these really fit the same as the GR7's? I always seem to fall in between sizes with Asics. With the GR7 10.5's my heel slipped and with the 10's my toes got jammed.

A runner’s loop makes a big difference for me on my Res Gel 7’s, size 8.5. Perfect fit now.
