Novak Djokovic
Carlos Alcaraz
Daniil Medvedev
Jannik Sinner
Andrey Rublev
Stefanos Tsitsipas
Alexander Zverev
Holger Rune

No easy matches anywhere. This is a very strong line up IMO. Better than many years.

Alcaraz and Djokovic in seperate groups.

I predict these groups

Group A
Djokovic
Medvedev
Rublev
Rune

Group B
Alcaraz
Sinner
Tsitsipas
Zverev

I've seen plenty of lopsided groups at the YEC, but this would be extreme. Group A has almost all the in-form players, it's ridiculously stacked compared to Group B.

It's not gonna happen! Novak will draw at least one between Tsitsipas and Zverev, guaranteed! LOL

Draws don't go by form however. I just took a guess. Any group constellation will be a tough one IMO. It's a strong line up.

Break To Win

Rublev is easily the worst of these tennis players. I can't understand how since 2020, he qualifies for the Finals. He is one-dimensional, he doesn't have a decent netgame, his second serve is reminiscent of Murray's, weak and short. He's just a Ballbasher fighter like Taylor Fritz.

I forgot to say that he is a mental dwarf.

Rublev is in-form though. Did you see him against Djokovic? He looked good and he also made the Shanghai final, he's the most dangerous floater for me, more dangerous than Zverev and maybe Medvedev based on recent form. Honestly though this is a pretty balanced ATP finals, I think anyone could beat anyone else.

Break To Win

Semi-Pro
If the court in Turin is faster than in Bercy, we may have surprises, otherwise, Djokovic will be the biggest winner of the ATP Finals.

Why is group a stacked.

Sinner is best in form player after Djokovic right now. He is in other half. Zverev can win vs rune very comfortably on occasions. Only weak ones in the ATP field right now are rune and Tsitsipas.

After rune beats some top 10s then ok. Last time he beat a top 10 was in Rome. Since then he has been beaten by Ruud Alcaraz and Nole, so he is weak link.

The Sinner

Semi-Pro
Seeds 1 and 4 usually are paired up, so I’m guessing it’ll be more like Sinner in Group A with Djoko, and Medv with Alcaraz.

That would be sweet.

Looking forward. Tennis is in a really great spot atm. A healthy Nadal would top it off. Even the next tier in Hurkacz, Khachanov, Ruud and potentially a resurging Berrettini, FAA, Shapo, etc are very strong.

I think we should leave Nadal to one side until it is clear that he is both back and in top form.

Hilarious to see Novak fans trying very hard to make the competition look good. The only two contenders for this title is Novak and Sinner. The rest of them are either not in form or are just good enough.
So yeah, nothing to see here. It remains the weakest era in the history of tennis.

By seeding, it "should" be:

Group A: 1,4,5,8

Djoker, Sinner, Rublev, Ruud

Group B: 2,3,6,7

Carlitos
Med
Stef
Zverev

How will it be drawn? I don't know...

This is an incredibly strong field. Hope Djoker can win a match to seal the YE number 1, after that is just a bonus.

You clearly haven't been watching him of late. He's had a pretty solid year.

Djokovic the slight favourite. Sinner looking a solid 2nd favourite and has a good shot at title. The rest a bit behind you think but anything can happen. We have a few former champions who might catch fire again and let’s see how alcaraz/Rune do on their debuts.

How sure though are we of Sinner's form given he pulled out of Paris?

I just want Novak to win one RR match in Torino, that's all! Im not asking for anything more! He had the best season so far anyway since his "comeback" in 2nd half of 2018 statistically speaking, so it's all details whether he wins Torino or not! But one match is all that stands between Novak and 8th YE#1 finish!...Anything better than that would be exceeding my hopes and expectations, which i will welcome with open arms off course!

Djokovic fans have become experts at polishing turds.

Wdym. That's a competitive and strong top 8. In 2017 you had Dimitrov and Goffin in the group stages. 2014 there was Berdych, Cilic, Nishikori and Raonic. In 2006 there was Robredo, Ljubicic, Blake. These are just one examples from different eras. Erase Fedal from those Fields and tell me with a straight face these guys would make it interesting.

This is a very fine set up. Fedalovic have always really been the ones taking all the attention in these groups and giving the tournament a different spark but now even with two of them gone this top 8 holds up very well with pretty much any match being spicy that people will tune into out of interest. Go back years and try to imagine some YECs if two of Fedalovic weren't playing and then compare with the names here and the potential match ups.

Well, they gotta pretend something is actually happening on tour

Yea Nadal got his ass handed to him last year to players who didn't make it this year and did so losing in straights. There was even no Alcaraz last year. He'd get even more spanked here. But yea it's prending alright.

Nadal losing while injured has nothing to do with your whack tour :p Even he had his best ever start to a season and mowed everyone down until the chest issues. And actually did it playing entertaining tennis 8-B

Carlos is done if Medvedev and Zverev are healthy. Djokovic's side is very interesting with Sinner and healthy Rune.

Wow, I can actually see Djokovic not winning the match he needs.
That is a tough group. And if he loses to Rune in the first match, and then has to face in-form Sinner...
Alcaraz's group seems more accessible.
