What is the best match of this years Wimbledon. For me, it was the Murray-Wawrinka. The first match with roof closed and lights at wimby and an incredible atmosphere.

Based on quality of tennis it was Roddick and Hewitt. However, Wawrinka and Murray weren't too far behind, and they did have a better atmosphere.

I liked Haas vs Cilic. I thought both players were absolutely invested in the game, and it was very very very dramatic.

Wow.... the quality of the matches have almost been Aussie open-esque

I vote Cilic Haas -- great drama and clutch performance in dark.

Roddick, lleyton is a close second

Haas/Cilic for me, just amazing and very exciting. Murray/Wawrinka and Roddick/Hewitt were also very good.

Best Wimbledon in a while in terms of the number of quality matches.

So most people are going for Haas-Cilic.
Damn it, I didn't watch that match properly, only watched the end bit. I have to re visit that.

I hope for another cracker in the tophalf semifinal. If Roddick brings his very very best he might push Murray on grass. Here's hoping that Roddick pulls the biggest match of the tournament off in 5 gruelling sets. 4-6 7-6 1-6 7-6 16-14

I am hoping for a 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, Murray win and a gruelling 5 setter for Roger.

Then Fed defeating Murray in straight sets in the final. :)

It won't shut up some people but it will be quite nice.

haas - cilic was great. hewitt - roddick.... also pretty good, but hewitt made an awfull lot of UF from time to time.

I voted for wawrinka - murray, liked it the most and was really excited. but also not on the highest level possible.

Haas and Cilic was the best match. They were both playing well, they both had times when they were about to lose it. And, they both saved match points before the end.

Toss up between JCF vs Gonzalez, Murray vs Wawrinka and any match that Hewitt plays in.
I'm going for Murray vs Wawrinka.
I'm a Fed fan but have the utmost respect and admiration for Murray. You've got to give it to him. He's like a modern day John McEnroe.
I used to dislike McEnroe but couln't help but warm to him with time.
Murray impresses me more with every match.
He reminds me so much and even looks and plays in the style of McEnroe and I think he will be just as successful.
Murray against Wawrinka a tough player in normal circumstances, nothing to lose, and the reason I choose this match - the roof.
The atmosphere created by the roof, all of a sudden it's heavy and humid, no breeze to cool the sweat, ball moving slower through thick air.
Serves less effective. Now it's a slugging match with long leg-sapping rallies for five gruelling sets.
The two guys looked out on their feet in the first set and still battered one another right to the bitter end. And a punch drunk tennis nation watching and agonising late into the evening, the flood lights interrogating Murray and the noises earily echoing and testing - 14 million people wondering if they'll have to wait another seventy odd years.
I expected Murray to collapse under all that pressure but he still had the strenth and will to pull through.
And Wawrinka I thought was magnificent. He seemed to return just about every ball even when you'd think the point was gone but he'd somehow manage to reach and place the ball so that he was back in the rally.
Fascinating match.
Don't know how Murray recovered from that one.
I thought he looked pretty hung over for a good spell against JCF.
Fed fan or not, you've got to admire this guy.

williams-dementieva last night was a great match. And williams-safina was also good match. But i choose the first semi is the better one.

I was going to say Haas/Andreev, or Haas/Cilic, or Hewitt/Stepanek which was a good one, but liked the Djokovic/Fish. Total dominance of a good player by a better player.

What a joke Roddick/Hewitt is considered the best match. Anyone with any brain knows it is Murray/Wawrinka.

no need for personal insults like that...
You should apologise..
some people / countries might not have broadcasts for murry v.s wawrinka.

P.S currently 43% of people have been insulted by your remark...

The majority are a bunch of patriotic Rodtards that don't even know what Murray did in that match.

I'm going to have to say Serena/Elena, only because the fudged up NBC coverage wouldn't allow me to see the whole of the Rod/Hewitt match, just the last 2 sets. Today's was the best I saw in it's entirety.

1. Roddick vs Hewitt (Incredible tennis)
2. Haas vs Cilic (Exciting last match of the day, having it spread out over two days killed it a little bit though.)
3. Murray vs Wawrinka (felt more like Stanislas choked the match rather than Murray winning it)

I think quality-wise it was Hewitt-Roddick. The one that kept me on the edge of the seat was Murray-Wawrinka. I didn't see Haas-Cilic to comment on that.

All great poll options, but I felt the Stan/Murray match stood out, and so did Haas/ChillyChill. But ...

I feel the best is yet to come.

Could it be.....

Tommy Haas, Wimbledon champion? Nice ring to it. Can you imagine him taking down Federer then upending Murray 11-9 in the 5th on Sunday?

Andrew Murray outlasting Roddick then Roger to delight all of Scotland and half of the rest of the UK? Andrewmonium.

Andy Roddick, Wimbledon champion? Not bloody likely, but if he did, it would have to be some spectacular attacking tennis.

Roger breaking the all-time slam count record in a 5 set thriller over Roddick or Murray. Contrasting styles. Great running passes. Incredible lobs and dropshots.
