Thank you. Curious as to why you put lead at 3 and 9? I have this racquet too and it feels "soft" in the head. Not sure how to describe it. I wonder if lead at 3 and 9 would stiffen the head a bit? I actually have mine strung with BHS7T. I found that I needed to crush the ball everytime or else it would fall shorter. I forget what I strung at.The CX200+ has been my racquet of choice for almost 2 years (and still going strong). Really disappointed that Dunlop did not release an updated version!
My current setup is Solinco Confidential 17at 52lbs, with about 4 grams added at 3/9 and 3 grams added to the handle. Overall weight with overgrip (and rubber band dampener) is around 332 grams.
Head Lynx Tour is a also a nice string in the frame - gives more control and better feel than the Confidential, but a little less bite and put away power. If they make a 1.20mm version of Lynx Tour, I will be tempted to make a switch.
I also really enjoyed Tourna Silver Tour in the frame - amazing spin, control and power, but it was a little too stiff for my arm (which is fairly sensitive).
Its funny eh how despite the 340ish sw that it still feels low powered. I will try the lead at 3 and 9. Do you think 1.20mm is better suited on this frame?Yes - for me in stock form, despite the 340 SW, the balls lacked a bit of pop (especially on defense) so I figured I would experiment with a bit of lead. I tried some at 12pm to start but for me it made the racquet feel a bit sluggish - however when I put it at 3/9, it really came alive. Still had very good precision and feel but added some stability and easier power - made it a much more playable racquet for me.
BHS7T is a great string for the racquet - I loved hitting with it in the cx200+ but as I mentioned it was a bit stiff for my arm.
Played with the CX200+ again this weekend and agree (again) that it is a great racquet. Good feel, great control. Strung at 48 with full bed Hyper G but think I can go lower. So much more control than the VCore or Bab plus frames. I won't call it a very powerful frame but it has a blend of power and control because of the tighter string pattern and extended length. I also like that it is crisp enough to be responsive. If I ever switched to an extended length racquet it would be the CX200+ (or maybe the 2022 EZ plus when it comes out later this year) as it is the best mix of control and power for the advanced competitive players. With the Vcore and Bab plus there is a huge trade off in precision unless you are willing to string full bed poly in the 50s. If Solinco ever releases the Whiteout XTD that was circulating in demo proto form last year that could be an option too. CX200+ not an option as I can't get my hands on spare frames. Wish they would bring this out in the current CX line.
I've been playing with a CX200+ and will be switching to the Whiteout XTD. So I have a CX to sell if you want it? But the Whiteout does everything a little better, with the exception of power when you hit the relatively small sweet spot in the CX.
As far as string setups go, I'd been experimenting a bit with various ones and the latest experiment was low tension, which I really liked in the CX. Always left wanting more spin with the CX and latest hybrid of Cream crosses (35) and Head MLT mains (40) was working very well for what I wanted out of the racket, which was good spin when needed to go along with block back power. The reverse of that would make the sweet spot soft and fat at times, and then also less powerful on spin shots.
Same here.Think the cx200+ has to be one of the most underrated rackets especially at the $99 price point it might be the best racket I've bought at that price.
