Dimitrov coaching change?

So both yesterday and today (Sunday and Monday) got the pleasure of running into Agassi, Steffi and Grigor Dimitrov at my club.

They hit for about 2 hours yesterday. (and in case you are wondering, Steffi is still a total bada%%) and were there today at 6am and still going at 11am.

Club's center court is booked out for them for the rest of the week although don't know if they will be using it the entire time.

So any word on a coaching change for Dimitrov or is this just a one-off?

Impossible to say. You don’t even tell us what city/area this is in. Could be some kind of charity tennis event coming up and they just got there early.

Did it look like Agassi was coaching? Stopping and talking to him and leading him through drills?

Las Vegas .... no events coming up of which I am aware.

Agassi definitely stopping and talking and directing more so today than yesterday. (although yesterday I only had a few minutes before my match to observe)

If Agassi could not do anything for Djokovic, he will do zip for Dimitrov. Dimitrov needs a real coach like Becker but question is who will believe in him enough to join his team.

Doesn't Agassi have an academy or something there? Why is Dimitrov in Las Vegas, he is playing tournament there?

Dimitrov will play next in Laver Cup.

Agassi has a school here that has nothing to do with tennis ... for low-income at risk students ... has really turned around performance.

There is the Agassi No Quit performance tennis academy as well, but oddly, when he worked with Djoker and here with Dimitrov, both at Darling Tennis Center.

I do not know of any Vegas tennis tournies coming up until October 20th ... and that is a Challenger level 50K ... doubt he would go to it.

Indeed it would be quite interesting. The only person outside of Agassi and Steffi at the club with them was Dimitrov's wife ...

I can say that Andre dropped off 6 of Steffi's racquets and 3 of his own to be strung on Saturday from a particular stringer at the club. ... both use a hybrid set up, If I recall correctly: he with a syn gut/poly hers with a nat gut/poly ... she stings at higher tension than he does.

My personal claim to fame is that "my stringer" also strings for Andre and Steffi

It would be cool to see Agassi give coaching one more try. He was in the wrong situation with Djokovic and Novak waiting so long to fix his elbow didn't help. A player like Dimitrov might be more malleable in Agassi's hands

I don't know why Agassi agreed to coach Djokovic in those circumstances. It was not beneficial to either man. Sounded like they didn't get on either.

I wouldn't judge Agassi as a coach based on that. Whether he'd want to coach again is a different matter.

The biggest impact Becker could have right away assuming he signs on is on Grigors second serve placement and pace. I find it astonishing that someone with his reach and athleticism has such a weak second serve currently. I think he could have a huge impact on his serve + 1 strategy and that's just for starters.
