Dunlop 200 CX OS

I have been playing with the 200 CX OS and have customized this frame to my specifications which is currently 330 grams strung with an approximate SW in the low to 320's. I have to say that it doesn't play like an OS and has good power, spin, feel, control and comfort. The sweetspot is huge and this is a very plush forgiving racquet that is very user-friendly. IMO advanced players could use it with some customization. All the reviews I have seen are very favorable. Just wondering if any other players 4.0 and above have tried or made the switch to the 200 CX OS?

I am quite interested in this but I agree with Mark from TW... if this one is extended length it will be PERFECT!
There's alot of room for customization due to low static weight and swingweight. IMO Dunlop technology works well for dampening shock and providing excellent comfort. This frame is super flexible and the ball feel is quite good. The spin, control and power are really good.

I have someone look for a test version for me, think it will be very nice. Already tried the 200 LS version, which was also very nice (comfort wise), but a bit too unstable

While I really liked the 200 CX OS, after spending more time with any playing around with the customization, the 3/8 grip is too small for me. I added an overgrip, however the frame felt too handle heavy and unwieldy. Unfortunately, I had to give up on it.

That’s quite the about-face in 10 days. Initially you said yours was about 330 g. Mine is 307 g strung and measures 316 sw. Where did you add mass?

It was 330 grams strung with an overgrip and adding 2.5 grams at 3 and 9 along with 2 grams on the butt of the handle. I have not played with an OS frame since I started playing over 30 years ago. It felt good initially but it was a bit unwieldy and I was losing racquet head speed. I then took off the overgrip and the lead on the handle but noticed alot of instability on off center hits. I just don't have the real time or patience to continue on with the customization. I would rather find another racquet where I don't need customization and did. Sorry for the 360 review but a light OS racquet just isn't for me. I ended up buying an Angell K7 Red XL and it happens to need no customization.

Don't get me wrong that the 200 CX OS has alot going for it if you have the time and patience to customize or can play in stock form.

Since I have a pair of 200 CX OS, rather than give them away and lose alot of money, I am going to play around with the customization a bit more to see if I can reach my desired balance and swingweight. It's definitely a unique racquet but with anything new it takes time adjust especially when you are customizing. The plot continues and I will be using the 200 CX OS later in the week with further customization adjustments.

Agree...a little tweak can make a world of difference..
I recently added an extra 5 gram over grip which really improved my current 2 rackets..

Absolutely could. I really like the feel of the 200 CX OS but a little more tweaking could make it work for me. I will continue to keep posting my thoughts and reviews.

Hello CX 200 OS players
I have two of these frames and have made the following modifications which have made this stick a true players racket.
2x2" of 1/4 tape at 10 & 2 O'clock, 2x2" at 12 O'clock, and 2x3" at 6 o'clock. I have also added a gamma build up sleeve to each frame (full size) to bring the grip size up from 3/8 to 1/2. Also added a Volkl DNX grip plus 1 x Yonex Super Grap OG to each frame and now the specs are as follow: Static weight 12 oz (1 frame) 12.05 second frame, balance 8.5 pts HL on both frames and swing weight guessing around 325 -327. Serving, returning and volleying all have improved immensely. Agree with the other posters that in stock form (11 oz / 3 pts HL) it is not going to cut it for any one over a 4.5 rating, but after some tweaking this frame comes to life.

Nice review ! I also have a pair of the 200 CX OS that I have been tinkering around with the customization. I initially tried putting an overgrip under my stock wilson Contour and found it too unwieldy plus I had added a few grams at 3 and 9 as well as to the butt of the handle. I now have taken off the overgrip and just keeping my Contour grip on but made it a bit thicker by less overlapping. I now have 3 grams total of lead slightly above the 3 and 9 position, 2.5 grams of lead on the butt and 1 gram above the grip for a total weight of 330 grams with a dampner. I like your set up but it is way too heavy for me these days. I am hoping to find the right balance and swingweight to make this racquet work for me.

What kind of strings and tension are you using?

Have one frame strung up with Wilson Hollow Core 16 ga (multi) at 52 lbs, and the second frame with Dunlop Synthetic S-Gut in the mains at 54 and with Head Velocity MLT 16 ga in the crosses at 56. The Hybrid set-up is working great for me and seems to be holding tension well. Pocketing is a little better with the Wilson Hollow core, but the hybrid set up plays better overall and the string bed is pretty crisp.

I was stringing mine at 55lbs with Gosen Micro 16. I got about 8 hours out of the strings before breakage occurred. How long are you getting?

It feels like the whole CX line is more or less made for customization, in other words, a platform line of racquets. I've tried several of them and liked none in stock, but after some tweaking and added weight/swing weight they've turned out to be brilliant frames all together.

I had another session with the 200 CX OS today and tinkered more with the customization. I added 3 grams total at 10 and 2 along with 1 gram above the handle and 2.5 grams on the butt of the handle with my Wilson Contour grip. The total weight with the dampner is now 330 grams. The SW is somewhere in the low 320's. I used Gosen Micro 16 at 55lbs. This customization was an improvement over prior customizations in terms of overall playability. I have to say that the 200 CX is a very flexible racquet and balls hit near the hoop you can really feel the frame flex. There is more forgiveness due to the low flex but I believe it sacrifices a little bit of power. The spin potential is quite good and generating topspin on my ground strokes came as well as the serve. The power level is decent along with the control. The stability has much improved with the lead higher in the hoop. The stand out features on this racquet are the large forgiving sweetspot and the super plush feel. I still need to spend a little more time with this frame but it's definitely going to stay in the bag for the time being. If you have patience to customize and like a very plush flexible frame, I highly recommend that you give the 200 CX OS a try.

The more time I spend with the 200 CX 200 OS, the more it appeals to me. I played in very hot and humid conditions today. This frame is very easy to use and works well with a medium swing for easy depth and spin. Serving is a breeze with this as power and spin are achieved with minimal energy. Dunlop has really hit a home run with the CX line. The feel is very plush and the comfort is outstanding. Can't say enough good things about this racquet!

Yeah, I hated the cx 200 tour in stock but with some lead it's a beautiful frame. Very nice specs to customize.

The only one I found nice in stock form was the cx 200+, the extra length gives such a high swingweight that it's hard to add weight but it's not really needed.

The 200 CX OS has become my match racquet. Serving and returning are quite easy with this frame. Easy spin and power on the serve and a nice relaxed medium swing on the return gets easy depth. While it doesn't have Pure Drive power, the easy depth and spin is getting me short balls that can be put away. I would have the utmost confidence to play with this frame in a tournament. I now have 3 of them that are leaded up to 325 grams or so strung. The swingweight is still very manageable and there's enough mass for heavy hitting and handling pace. My current string of choice is Gosen Micro 16 at 55lbs. I get about 6-8 hours out of string job and the comfort is really good. No arm pain at all!! Can't say enough good things about this racquet that has the old school feel of a classic racquet with the thin box beam! I could see more advanced players picking up this racquet and customizing to their specs of choice. It's definitely a platform players racquet or in stock form for a 3.0-3.5 player as well as for aging players. Racquetpedia gave this racquet a top notch review. It's a sleeper of a racquet ! It kind of reminds me of an Angell k7 red with a bigger sweetspot and more power. Lastly, it doesn't play like an OS racquet and I recently posted my second review on TW to promote this spectacular racquet by Dunlop!

Cool to hear of your renewed success. I love my two. I was on a demo kick for about a year but I hate picking up other racquets these days because the cx os is just so good.

It took some time to get the customization to get to my desired specs. Once I found my desired specs, I really started to like this racquet after a few weeks. The 200 cx os has made the game easier for me and I have built up confidence with this racquet in match play. I stopped searching for any other racquets. I still have my Phantom 100P frames that I use for hitting only and looking to sell a few at this time. I am also cutting the wear and tear off my shoulder because I don't need to work consistently hard to get depth and spin on my ground strokes. This racquet is great for aging Advanced players. Not that I am old, however at 54 I want to cut the wear and tear on my body. This frame has hit the mark for me and my search is over!! I have 3 of these classic racquets!

After a long journey looking for a suitable racquet, I have committed 100% percent to the CX 200 OS and sold all my other racquets! I am not trying anymore racquets! It doesn't get any better than this frame customized to my personal specifications. My arm also has never felt any better. No elbow or shoulder pain after playing!

I know, right?! Very comfortable frame.

I keep trying other frames but never switch.
It's extremely comfortable and has great feel! I am not wasting anymore money on racquets! With the customization of 3 grams total at 3 and 9, 1 gram at 12 and 4 grams on the butt of handle, I am getting enough power and the control is great for OS frame.

It is a great platform racquet for customization for advanced players!

I can't say enough good things about the 200 CX OS that it's a great all around frame! Dunlop deserves alot of credit for making a thin straight beam OS with great feel and comfort! Definitely a top notch platform racquet for an intermediate or advanced player!

I'd like to compare it to the Phantom 107G someday. I think everything you say about the Dunlop, I've been saying about the Phantom. I wish more manufacturers would look into player's OS frames. They are really a nice blend of forgiveness, feel and comfort with enough spin/power/control for any adult rec player's game.

I couldn't agree more with you! Playing with an OS has made the game easier and less demanding these days as I get older into my 50's.

I have played with Angell TC101, Six.One 100, EZone 100/105, VCore 100/100+, Gravity S, and Dunlop FX700. At the end always come back to 107G because I win the most matches with it. I wholeheartedly agree more manufacturers should produce an OS player frame, even better, in both regular and extended lengths. I have been visiting TW used racquet section for a grip 2 CX200 OS but no luck. Is the Dunlop grip size like Yonex which runs almost one size larger than stated?

I now have 3 CX 200 OS but have been breaking strings every few weeks and don't have a stringer nearby my home. I strongly considering getting a 4th one. The more I play with this frame, it grows on me that it's a real classic that gives me the nice balance of power and control even with a synthetic string!! I can't say this about too many other racquets! The CX 200 OS is definitely the racquet of the year for me!! I have made the switch completely and not looking at any other racquets!! All my other racquets have been sold weeks ago!! Kudos to Dunlop for making a thin beam OS that is a great all around racquet!

I purchased a 4th 200 CX OS. I know that I might be sounding like a broken record, but this frame has a great balance of power and control. The added lead at 3, 9, 12 has improved the stability tremendously! The spin and plush feel is off the charts. I have used many thin beam racquets over my 30 years plus of playing. I have to say that this CX 200 OS is definitely up in my top 3 or 4 best racquets that I have played with!!! It's incredibly easy to use and is suitable for many different playing levels, even up to very advanced with customization. I am hoping to see my reviews and thoughts from other players who have tried this classic frame!!

I recently tried Ghost Wire 17 on the mains at 50lbs and Gosen Micro 17 on the crosses at 52lbs. It's a soft co-poly that offers good ball pocketing, soft feel and nice control. I was getting tired of breaking the Gosen Micro 16 after about 6-7 hours of play in the 200 CX OS.
I am still surprised that I don't see more players using this great frame! I have 4 of them and set for a very long time!!

I have been playing with the 200 CX/OS for a month now. I had to add weight to it to get it more headlight and a bit more stable. Now it's close to perfect for me and I'm playing with a lot of confidence with it. When I purchased it from TW I had it strung with Hyper G soft 16g, as I have wanted to try it after reading so many good reviews. It played really nice, but my go to set up in other sticks has been Ytex Quadro Twist in the mains( 50 lbs.), Ghostwire in the crosses( 48 lbs.) so that will be the next stringing later this week.
I also did TWs racquet trade in on my purchase which made it a good deal for me. I'm not sure how many racquets I have( yes, I'm one of those guys ) but to get rid of one when purchasing a new one was a nice trade off. I could easily see myself doing a repeat of this not too far down the road.

Just try 2 grams total at 3 and 9 to start. I ended up with 3 grams total at 3 and 9 as well as 1 gram at 12. I also added 3 grams to the butt of the handle. All my frames are roughly 11.5 ounces strung and SW in the low 320's.
When you say you added weight to the butt of the racquet, is that under the grip or inside the butt cap? Thanks…

No problem! It's a really great racquet ! I was pleasantly surprised when I made the complete switch! Post your review after playing with it.

Is the spin potential alright? I am still haven't pressed that check out button because my game is quite spinny... I don't hit flat much except return serve. Comparing VCore pro 100 which the crosses are much wider spread out (I suppose that's the same theory of Wilson's spin effect string pattern), I see cx200 os have very tight crosses.

There's excellent spin potential as the string pattern is pretty open in the upper hoop of the frame. I can hit some nasty spin even with a synthetic string. Dunlop has done something really special creating a thin beam OS that is very arm friendly and has a really nice balance of power and control. Highly recommended!
