Fed or Nadal: Who has a better chance against Nole?

Just was wondering who posters thought would stand a better chance to beat Nole in an AO Final based upon current form and the slow playing conditions?

Nadal stands absolutely no shot at beating Magneto. Thankfully,he won't make the final to have to worry about it.

Well...Roger has lost his last three HC slam events to Novak. He has also been straighted twice on this surface by him.

Nadal has lost six straight big finals, including two slams, one of them being a HC slam.

So...I really don't know who has the better chance. Roger does match up better, but as stated above, he has come up short against quite a bit recently. Nadal has the match-up issue also.

Nadal will likely play Djokovic, though Novak still has some big matches to play. Something tells me that the AO result is going to be very similiar to the last couple of slams.

I think Roger has a better chance because he "knows" he has the tools to beat him, and has the record to prove it.

Novak has really gotten into Rafa's head and if they were to play in the final I think that would be another example. Besides, Novak is just playing reallllly well right now, and I don't think Rafa has the game to challenge him currently.

In a single, isolated match (on any hard court) I'd emphatically say Fed at the moment, but given that Joker must grind out two of the most mobile, best defensive/counterpunchers in the game first, esp. considering his half has 1 day less of recovery, many physical factors will be at play here

This is a question that did not need to be asked but I am glad it has been. Match-ups count for something.

Point taken but I think we can both agree Fed's level right now is leaps and bounds better than his '08 performance and at least significantly better than last year.

Why will Nadal likely play Djokovic? Based on what? You kinda jumped around a bit there.

Anyone else having a hard time keeping up with Clarky's nicknames for Noel? :)

I have a plethora of nicknames that describe the ridiculous circus act that is Novak Djokovic, his gluten-free diet,SCIO machine,QXCI biofeedback system, and Dr. Igor Cetojevic. It's not my fault he gives me so much material to work with.

It's amazing how some people just assume that Djokovic will be in the final with Murray in his half. Murray is more dangerous in a semi final than a final, in my opinion.

He has to get through Ferrer AND Murray (assuming he beats David).

Didn't Ferrer push him to 4 sets last year? I think Ferrer is playing better than last year while Djokovic is not playing quite as well.

Say what? What makes you think that?

Exactly. To me it seems that Djoko is playing better than last year. He's more relaxed and hitting his forehand bigger.

Most importantly, he has that "AURA" of a undisputed #1, which means that most players are defeated in the locker room. He did not have this last year. That may be the most telling thing.

As for Ferrer troubling Djoko, did anyone see the Abu Dhabi match where Ferrer tried hard, but Djoko absolutely crushed him?

I'm going to make a wild bet and say Djokovic will lose to either Fed or Nadal. Fed will get his revenge if he reaches the final and Rafa will be hungry to beat Djokovic again and will play a very smart match doing so.

Like I said, Nadal wins this AO.

Ferrer is not beating Djokovic, I am pretty certain of that.

Nadal is a mental midget clarky, he can't play tennis and will never win another tennismatch. You guys heard it with Clarky first!

They both have a good chance. Federer matches up better against Novak, but prime Ralph is no pushover either. I think Mjurray will make final though

Novak was very fortunate vs Federer at the USO, so anyone suggesting Novak would be thrilled to meet Federer on HC is an idiot.

Tushar Kapoor you're back!

What happened?....you were missing in action. Did sister Ekta start casting you in her day time soaps?

hahahaha....i went to agra to attend my uncle's marriage..I was very busy down there.Yesterday was the first time when i saw rafa playing and i really enjoyed it a lot.
I hope he can step it up and keep the returns deep to have any chances against federer..I was really annoyed in 1st two sets seeing him standing near linesperson and returning the balls..
